I wanted to say you were spot on about the 1961 Cadillac Convertible; the taillights and no cornering lights make it a 1961. Starting in 1962, Cadillac introduced cornering lights, to which they stated as a safety feature when making turns at night. The 1964 Eldorado convertible caught my eye, absolutely glorious! And a 1981 Imperial parked close to your Bel Air. It seems every day we have had storms; rain total today for my area stands at 8". Of course, more is forecast. Thank you for this video!
We went two whole days in a row without rain....yay. I just looked at the rain gauge, it states 6.86 inches for July so far. There were storm predicted last evening, but none developed here. I guess north of here, and across the border in Ontario, Canada they had tornados again. It has been hot and humid, that brews up big storms. That Eldorado was concourse mint! My friend Tom would have drooled all over it! He has owned dozens of Eldorado's.... they're his favorite car. That Imperial was like showroom new, and 100% original.
I love attending car shows with you via TH-cam. Especially when you drive the 59. I too have a 59. Roman red on red 2DRHT Impala. I’d love to cruise with you if we lived closer. Keep the vids coming. I really enjoy them.
Must be 580 AM, CKWW, playing on your '59's AM tube radio! I like that you've kept the original tube radio in that beautiful car, that was your first car, if I remember correctly. Enjoyed this video very much, thanks!
I love how many original cars that were there ……. I appreciate the work that goes into some custom cars ……. But I like cars the way they came off the assembly line !! I always love when people keep cars that way !!! That Maze Yellow 61 Caddy was gorgeous !!!!
There was an unusual amount of unrestored originals at this cruise in. Their my favorite..... nothing like a factory original, that is still all original.... I call them survivors.. The 58 Fleetwood and 61 Cadillac convertible were both in the top few for me at the cruise.
It's very difficult. From what I was told by others there, it gets really packed some days, with 500+ cars. It was a enjoyable 30 minute drive there, so you can be sure I will be going to it more often.
@@OldCarAlley it's great to see different vintage cars. I liked the '68 Impala convertible. I like my Belair but I still wish I could have afforded a '59 Impala convertible.
@@martinbeneteau309 I wish I could afford a Parkwood station wagon. I wish I bought a bunch of them when they were still cheap. I made an offer on one a few weeks back. It needed everything, the drivetrain was missing, and he would not take ten grand for it.... his way overpriced asking price was $25,000. He will never sell it at that price! It was the green and white color combo I am looking for. A decade ago I could get a car like it for $1500. Prices are crazy now on anything with fins.
@@OldCarAlley yes. Well maybe the guy selling the Parkwood will realize the car is overpriced and you can come up with an agreeable price. I'm waiting for you to redo a '59 Chevy!
That looks like a perfect weather late afternoon to be outside enjoying the cars. I like the view at around 7:13 - your 59, a Baja Beetle, and a bustleback Imperial. It's fun seeing such a wide variety of nice looking cars. I wonder if the Imperial was a Frank Sinatra edition.
The base engine in a 59 Corvette was a 230hp 283, not a 6 cylinder. No 6 cylinders starting in 1956. You can tell a 59 Vette from a 60 from 3 interior changes, the main way is the 59 seats have horizontal pleats and the 60 vertical. The exteriors are the same.
I wasn't really paying attention to the year, but the early Vetts all had the six, (pre 55) and a Powerglide. This Vette had the Powerglide..... making me think it was the older one with the six. That six was a runner though, with its three side drafts. I know a guy that has a 53. It's surprisingly quick for having that big heavy six.... that six weighs more than the V8.
Great show with a lot of nice vehicles. Yes, youtube will likely caution you on the copyrighted music in the background. They did on one of mine a couple of years ago.
Music blaring at cruise in's is super annoying. Everyone I talked to complained about it. You would think the volume could be turned down to an acceptable level.... it would make it much nicer to have conversations with other car owners, to hear stories about their cars.
The radio in the Bel Air was dealer installed and is a RCA. It has tubes, so it does need to warm up before it plays. The sound is really good..... I think because it is a tube radio.
1) The Star-Spangled Banner was playing and 2) the '59 or '60 Corvette @ 3:25 is not a 235 six; it would be a 283 V8. I'm almost done installing factory-style power steering on my '58 Impala. I just have the slave cylinder and its two hoses to install and then fill and bleed the system! I hope to do a lot more cruising in 2022 now that I'm single again and free!
Yes, they play the Star Spangle Banner at the beginning of every cruise evening their. Your correct I miss spoke, thinking it was a 53 or 54 for some reason. Those two years only came with the 235.5 with three side drafts and a Powerglide. You most likely will need to adjust the spool valve when you start the engine. Upon first start, keep your hands free from the steering linkage and steering wheel. The steering can whip to one direction if the spool valve is not adjusted. It's a super easy adjustment, that needs to be made with the engine running..... your shop manual shows how to adjust the spool valve.
Love the car shows, but the music though enjoyable, will demonetize the vlog so click on the adds everyone so Howard earns some revenue for his efforts. 😁👍✌
The first three commercial breaks included 2 60 minute and one 30 minute commercial. I generally let commercials run if they are no more than a couple minutes because I want the people I watch to get paid but if You Tube thinks I'm going to do anything more than click off 2.5 hours of commercials in a 26 minute video they are crazy.
I was surprised it passed all there checks. If it didn't I would go back and remove the sound. I started putting my finger over the mic., that blocked the music.... to my surprise when I went to edit, I see it worked well. I will do that from now on, except for when I yap in the video.
@@OldCarAlley That's odd, I didn't get any commercials, just popup's which is why I asked everyone to click the adds. Oh well, glad it's monetized in any case. 👍✌
Surprising yes, there are people that enjoy them. I'm not into them that much, as I still remember them on the road not to long ago. Some still go by my house, though all rusted out. It's when brand new cars are driven into the cruises, that I wonder why they're putting there car in the cruise. I could go to the dealer if I really want to see the new plastic cars.
One way to solve that copyright issue may require a little bit of work: edit the video, mute the original sound recorded by the camera and put your own voice over... just a suggestion... Nice video: lots of beautiful cars!
I was helping my dad Howard move to a new place I sold his house or he sold his house by the way I get such a Lyft watching your videos I’ve been catching up. By the way Howard what do you wipe your cars down with I know you don’t wash them every day thank you in advance
Great video and cars, thank you Howard!
So nice to see people walking around respectful of people’s property and not touching!👍
Howard. Alot of lovely cars and trucks. Sounds like you had a lovely day. Nice to see.
I did hear the clock wind, along with the gear whine! Miss those sounds!
I have always loved the Chevy Nomad and that 56 is nice. That was quite a cruise in. Thanks for sharing.
It was defiantly a very well done mild custom. I really liked it too. It still sported its factory original paint too.

Yes it's CKWW out of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The Bel Air is my first car, bought it March 12, 1978 for $75.
Throughly enjoyed this, thanks for the ride.
Tonights Cruise was packed.... the Road Kill guys were there. I'm working on the video now.

I don't think so, the FS edition would be a special colour blue paint.
That Imperial was mint! The Baja Beetle look ultra fun. I didn't see any special edition badges on the Imperial anywhere.

Use to have a barracuda like that, put a 340 in it with a thermal quad. Had a lot of fun in that car.
A friend back in high school had one, his was powered with a slant six.
Your Ford looks like it could use some air shocks in the rear. King Patrick
I hate the ride from air shocks. It docent need them. The car was parked on a hill, with a rise in the ground where the rear bumper was.

That depends on what I find in the future that looks fun.
neat!
I use to live in Lake Orion. I’m thinking since you didn’t drive through town, this was south of town ?
Yes I think a few miles south of town.
