Although yes you really shouldn't get them wet my dog did swim all summer with his on and it still work right up until about 3 weeks ago and we're in December right now. However as somebody who does specialized in electronics you can pop it open and cover the little chip in nail polish, make sure you don't do the speaker just the chip underneath and around the battery do not coat the areas where the battery connects to the board. Will it be 100% no but dose it work, yes.

What do you do for heartworm season to keep the mosquitoes away? I hate giving my dog these pesticides. I have used tickles and love it, now I have to find some natural way to resell the mosquito to prevent heartworm. Thanks Toni

Hi Toni,
Excellent question! To prevent mosquito bites that can occasionally lead to infection, we use homemade essential oil sprays (diluted as we don’t want to overwhelm our dogs’ sensitive nose). Our recipes are backed by research for the most effective and powerful sprays.

In terms of heart worm prevention, we know that infections are most likely to occur in dogs with weakened immune systems (usually weakened by poor diet and digestion). We keep our dogs’ immune system in stellar condition with a raw food diet (or cooked food with supplementation in the case of dogs with weakened digestion or health concerns), adding fresh garlic in the summer to boost immunity.

We’ve found that the key ring itself works fine, but we actually attach it to a small carabiner instead. This makes it super easy to take off before our dog goes swimming and just as easy to clip back onto his collar afterward. Hope this helps, and congrats on your first package-definitely a good idea with the crazy tick season this year!
