  • Hello and welcome, thanks for stoping by. Today I'm installing a set of King Air bumps on the rear of the Tacoma. After the Archive Garage Rear shock relocation to larger smoothies, I was rubbing the shock body when the rear was flexed. This is common with so much flex. I have since added spacers and this kit. WIth the kit and the spacers you should be able to fine tune the rear suspension better to allow for the most flex while avoiding the shocks. The install was decent nothing terrible, the rivets put up a good fight. Once those are gone it's smooth sailing. I will be doing a follow up with the New Archive Garage U bolt flip kit specifically made for air bumps. Thanks for watching, like and subscribe I appreciate it.

rivets dont need to be sanded/grinded flush to be able to push out. the rivet swells from the back side not the front side where you ground them down

Thanks for the heads up. These were tough to remove without grinding them down flush. It took 5 minutes to get them flush, Its worth it. I also like to use the smallest air hammer possible. Which could be way they were tough to get out.

When you installed the 12” shocks and relocated them did you have to make any other upgrades to your truck ? Did you have to change your leaf springs?

I did not, I already have aftermarket leaf springs. There will be what I consider minor fixes/ tweaks to components depending on your flexing capabilities. Things like bump stops, U bolt flip kits, and wheel spacers. I would recommend spending some time on the Archive Garage site, look up hammer hangers and relocation kits.

Legit everysingle company that sells these they price the mount the same as the bump stop itself, way they charge so much for just the mount??? a UCA looks like a more complex part to make and those go for a little more

The more expensive mounts are bolt on. If you buy the weld on tubes they are super cheap like under 60 bucks. The bolt on mounts take a decent amount of Fab work, bends /welding and they usually include the lower strike pad also. Look around on the forums you may be able to score a used set. Thanks for watching.
