The reason why the Gaijin judged the Starship to be "better" is because they clearly assumed that stationary hull-down engagements are the overwhelming majority. Personally I expected that the Leopard wins out due to the thermal sight that allows him to spot the starship far earlier the Starship the Leopard. Nevertheless, Gaijin has a point in overemphasising the indirect fire capability because on a large terrain where there is a plentiful hull-down cover, a well-organised Starship army can always win against a well-organised Leopard army simply because the Starships can kill a hull-down hidden Leopard meanwhile the leopard cannot kill a similarly hidden starship. The only exception is when some Leopards can infiltrate or flank the frontline which rather characterises the competence of the Starship crew then the vehicle itself.
The Leo 1A5 should've definitely won that one, it's Thermals, and Sabot are obviously superior to the starships low muzzle velocity, and lack on thermals.
What is the point of comparing the slowest POS supposed ATGM carrier with a thermals equipped, fast MBT with APFSDS at a whole BR above it? You would have made a decent point if you took the M60A3 instead of the M60A2, and come to the conclusion that the M60A3 should be down-BR'd as it is much less reliable than the Leopard 1A5 while at the same BR.
That reminds me of when they compared the t-72 and m1 Abrams. The Abrams lost in every category but reverse speed being unable to pen the t-72 and saying it is easily penned by the t-72 .And then they called the match unfair because the abrams is 10.0 and the t-72 is 9.3 so they did it again vs a better soviet tank and it won too

I love tanks but Helicopter modes need some love. My wish list for helicopters- to make it fun again!!! 1- Add utility/ transport helis Utility helis need to have infil and exfil objectives throughout the map in which AI ground troops attack objectives and need to be picked up to conduct air assaults on subsequent objectives. Also enables Medevac objectives back to friendly lines/ landing zones/ field hospitals. 2-Add light/recon helis- enemy convoys/ objectives are no longer randomly populated on the map, all enemy objectives must be discovered by these light/ recon helis (points for spot bonus). Other enemy units are discovered once they fire on players/friendly AI or when discovered by other players. 3- bring back PVP in a separate mode- top tier players want it- give it to em 4- allow utility helicopters to carry equipment and light vehicles (based on real world data) to support AI attacking objectives (think slingload operations light vehicles/ artillery.) 5- bring in night missions! Also- rewards for NOE flying in combat conditions at night- will add another dimension of challenges for conducting these missions in the dark. 6- Lastly add specific close air support objectives for the ground AI- (add points for providing CAS and not allowing the friendly AI to get wiped out will make players care about friendly AI

It isn't even a good comparison. The starship role is way different from a fast reloading mbt. The better match up would be the 1A5 VS the AOS. But props to Gaijin for simulating how german players are.
This match wasn't fair enough and player with the Leopard did some mistakes. The usage of the machinegun againts the ATGM was nice. However the first match: this tank has a fantastic gun depression he should went to the fortress and try to snipe from there. Or as we saw the M60 starship was there so he can easly flank it. But let's say the first match was correct. It wasn't so obvious that the M60 is there. The 3rd match: i have one question. That wasn't a huge problem we can't see just the commanders cupola. If he use the correct ammunition it could hurt for the M60. Why the Leopard guy didn't just back up but manouver far from the M60 for example behind a hill, repair the tank and then go to fight. Second thing I saw gameplays from both, I tried both, but the Leopard1 is significantly better than the M60. Especially in longer ranges. And the Leopard player haven't use this advantage. To be honest I thought "Oh come on, long and mid ranges, the Leopard1A5 with the DM33 terminates that scrap into the ground" and then: short and mid range. What?! And please everyone be honest, because all of knows that the long 105mm gun is undoubtedly superrior to the tanks with such guns like the starship has. I smell a bit of American bias
They'd do it like to movie Fury tiger fires one shell and misses entirely and the jumbo fires 8 shells with unquestionable accuracy because the tiger loader had a stroke
get 2 players of equal skill and face them off against each other, then base what you say off who wins. Scripting it feels unnatural and the fact that the STARSHIP of all things beat out a Leopard 1A5 is kinda sad. I know this is meant to just be fun and that we shouldn't care about what tank wins and all that, but it still feels rather odd to have quite possibly the WORST 8.0 tank in the game win against a 9.0 APFSDS slinger (with thermals, mind you)
If I was that Starship, I would've just hide since there's no way im fighting a MBT that already knows where I am and since at this BR mostly have laser rangefinder and stabilizer, they can just cap me before my missile hits the enemy tank.

Despite reacting to an APFSDS round that fast, I can confirm, in game, this is accurate. I love the M60A2 and main germany and have had my fair share of kills in the 1A1. Unless on completely flat terrain, the starship has a large advantage, especially with its great turret armor and gun depression. Also the shillelagh looses its rocket boost after 500m and can be hard to see coming in even with thermals on. However, in real life, the M60A2 is know to be very complicated and faulty

Why wouldn't you compare the m60A3 with the era against the leopard? They're the same br and more similar than these 2. Then you could have really shown the strengths and weaknesses for each. One is faster with less armor and the other has era. Both have similar guns too unlike a 152 missile launcher vs a 105 shooting sabots
The playstyle of the two vehicles are completely different so comparing them with made up scenarios is sh#$ I suggest that you stick to the shooting range method of comparison

If anything its just gonna be for entertainment purpose. in real life, this couldn't be the case because in real life you had other external factors, u had crew training, u had logistics, u had intelligence, u had supports, u had terrain, u had vehicle maintenance quality, individual upgrades and a lot others. greatest example was how M60s get tons of tank kills in gulf war, the ones that were deployed are heavily upgraded, & US intelligence-supports are definitely way better than the opposing side. by pure stat regular M60s are the shittiest MBT at its era, Leopard 1, AMX-30, Chieftain, T-55 & T-62, are all way better than M60s in some places like armor, firepower, speed, or operating range or sometimes even in all of them. but because of other external factors the results are different. And in War Thunder, u dont have any of that, just stat cards fighting against stat cards + player skill.
You guys seriously need to just have random players do this instead of 2 dude duking it out, this is just sad when it comes to how those tanks are played.
