- It might often seem like modern tanks are extremely similar to each other. The European Leopard, the American Abrams, the Japanese Type 10: countries are very different, their tanks - not so much. In reality, though, every single MBT is its own beast, developed after hundreds of hours of planning, testing and research, involving input from countless engineers and military decision-makers. Today, let’s prove this point by talking about the most interesting and memorable quirks of modern MBTs of War Thunder!

I mean considering how bad it is in game, it may as well be. I am grinding the Italian/hungarian 2A7V, and i skipped the entire ariete line so far, i havnt needed them, plenty of orter good italian/hungarian tanks and IFV´s to bring now.
US and DU are missing 800mm RHA penetrating ammo though Gaijin.
The LP-83 gun can punch through +1m, most rounds will get nerf for the sake of balancing
Technically the ZTZ99A was introduced in 2010 and features a Laser jamming system(that weird mushroom on the turret roof)
They block tiktok so crew can focus on battle.
i was hoping the ztz99a model change would add in the APS for the ztz99 variants but i got my hopes up

@@AiRbU380 Ariete Is not trash, it's simply different. As much as I agree with military experts about the fact that the Ariete Is obsolete, it's still nowhere near trash.
First, the armour is classified so from all we know it could be as good as a leopard 2a5/6. Some people think that with the war kit, the turret cheeks can reach a maximum protection thickness of 630/640mm against KE and ~1000 against Chemical.
Mobility isn't an issue anymore since the AMV is here. Also, the gun was changed for a better OTO Melara 120/45 (same as Centauro II), which means it can fire better rounds at an higher velocity. The optics were modernized with 3rd gen thermal and NVD, everything related to oil pressure was changed for a better electronic system (turret rotation for example), the engine and transmission were upgraded and the tracks are now 20% wider. It's widely believed that an APS (Scudo) was tested on one of the AMV prototypes but it's almost certain that they will not put it on any model.
For now, all Italy needs is a fast tank for the terrain she has. The Centauro II Is perfect for this role, and as you already know it's among, if not the best wheeled tank destroyer in the entire world.

Yeah...get better lol? 1 year for rank 2? That could be accomplished in 2 weeks honestly. Premium account, a good low to mid tier premium vehicle and finding a consistent effective play style will fix that. Watch content creators to learn about vehicles, maps and tactics.

@@user-tm4ej5fg6xit is a technology superior tank though. If it’s used the right way it’s going to a potent weapon, even in war thunder. Ukraine used them in a way they weren’t designed for or are vulnerable to. Unlike the US who used it and its advantages to great extent. I mean yes obviously thermal imagers will spot this thing from a million miles away, but all tanks do give off a heat signature. And if you do shoot it yes it will burn, but thanks to crew survival features and blow out panels it means that even if the tank isn’t salvageable, the crew will survive. Unlike say a Russian MBT where a hit to the autoloader will turn the turret into a space cannon

@@hulilupteri. I don’t even have the Abram’s yet, I’m just referring to the common joke of how easy it is to negate the Abrams armor in game by shot trapping it through the turret ring. If you yourself are an Abrams player yourself you should know that every non play to win top tier player knows that. Why do you think I said “if Achilles was a tank?” I’m saying it’s a good and very powerful tank, but it has a small yet very exploitable weak spot, like Achilles.
correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the challenger 2 have the longest accurate shot of any active tank. (not getting confused with the challenger 1)
There’s a rumor going around that the record for longest tank on tank kill was recently broken. A Ukrainian T-64BV is reported to have gotten a 10km+ kill using high explosive shells against a Russian tank.
@@gavincross5719 It wasn't a tank tho, they used it as artillery and scored a kill but not on an MBT, if all kills count then Russia would have the longest kill via a tank as they also use them as artillery sometimes because they have good HE shells.

Depends how you look at it, during the first Gulf war, specifically during the Battle of Norfolk, a Challenger 1, callsign "11B", commanded by Cpt Tim Purbrick of the 17th/21st Lancers attached to the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars, the Gunner, a Trooper Gus Davidson, successfully hit and killed an Iraqi T-55 in a direct fire (with Line of sight) engagement at a range of between 4700-5100m (older sources list 4700, however some newer, but still credible sources list 5100) with a L26 APFSDS round, in a single shot.
More recently a Ukrainian T-64BV with the use of a UAV and some custom indirect (over the horizon/non line of sight) fire software managed to kill an abandoned russian MBT at a range of ~10500m (I've seen claims of 10400m & 10600m, I'm splitting the difference :P) using a HE-Frag round, according to the crew it took around 20 shots, adjusting for error via their UAV.
I have not see anything to suggest the tank was crewed at any point in the engagement.
Maybe it's patriotism, but I wouldn't say that really counts as a tank on tank kill, as the T-64 was essentially being used as an SPH and had no direct view of the target.
So when will the Abrams have its spall liner coating.... as well as the increased lower plate armor that it is supposed to have, that even Gaijin admits was in the Abrams test vehicles for the A2 variant.
Plus America ERA should be able to stop 30mm apfsds rounds

Pretty much the same with the leopards and Challengers. For some reason you are still able to shoot the canon breach while that should be even thicker than the dam arrowhead portion... Leopards also miss allot of front side armor. it doesnt have side armor protection with Nera components just 61mm's and the PSO with some ERA over it while in real life it has more armor in the frontal part to protect the driver and ammo because the leopard 2 is also meant to be able to angle its frontal armor but it cant because of its non existing side armor

If you want italy to be a great nation to play then please add the centauro b2, ariete with centauro 2 turret, and b1 centauro draco
The Centauro B2 has a 120mm with 3 sec reload and a top speed of 65 mph with an engine 720 hp.
Ariete with centauro b2 turret this should be fast do to the turret being lighter at the cost of being literally a glass cannon.
And b1 draco is a better otomatic but is uses guided ammunition and it can make the otomatic go from 11.3br down to 10.7br and the draco can be 11.3br to 11.7br.

Well, its not the most armored nor best gunned, its well rounded but no records smashed
anbd the fact they say the leopard 2 has the best round with 650mm pen before mentioning the objects pen of over 700mm. And forget to mention the DM63 which for some reason is still missing aswell as the Abrams counterpart to the DM63 as well (same gun)
@@honeybadgerbomb4469 Yeah in game its not but in real life it definitely is towards the top. The extra weight for the base models of the a2 and sep variants isn't just added for no reason. In game its ignored. Also uses the same gun as the leopard so ideally they should be tied for armament or at least very close

3:10 Wrong bc giajin* The Leopard 2A7 only has 630-670mm when it should have atleast more than the TVM-2 on the 2A5(710mm+). the Swedish kit is better (people saying upto 250mm compared to the German's 180mm)but the German Leopard has a much better armor package inside the tank itself(550mm+) overpowering the 2A5 with TVM-2kit(max 450mm) but gaijin hates Germany. it's severely seen on the aviation side when every nation has good air to air and air to ground planes(In one) where as Germany got a good plane a year ago in the sons of atilla update
