I was looking for videos of rides at RA to refresh my memory and found yours. Great job with the VFR. I took my 2015 VFR800 out at Autobahn Country Club with STT in intermediate a couple times and had a blast. I was amazed at it's capabilities. I was able to hold my own and pass dedicated sport bikes despite its bulk. Mine was stone cold stock also. Honda builds well.
I have taken my vfr to track a couple times, still learning to exploit its potential. It's evident this bike is very capable on track, of course you have great skill.
me too, well us too me and the wife both have VFR800's and we have taken them to California Superbike School as well as a few track days in here in NZ. They are quite big and heavy on the smaller tracks near us. It would be nice to get onto a bigger track like Phillip Island or something.
Nice riding, and your a 100 to 125 lbs heavier too!. But that weight keeps the meat hooked up. Love my 2005 VFR800, nice riding in SoCal but be nice to try it on a track, all I need is the attitude I possessed 40 years ago! LOL...........
nice riding. I have a 98, which i will never part with, just a wonderful all rounder and fast enough in capable hands as you've demonstrated. You exhaust note is deep, what system are you using and do you have any suspension mods. I would love to go unside down forks and decent rear shock, even though I done the Rece Tech upgrades a few years back.
Hello David, can I please ask you a question!?🙏🏽 Incredible riding on the vfr 800, looking like u were riding with some 1000 cc bikes, and totally holding your own! Were you indeed riding with several 1000cc bikes, and, what racing mods have u done to ur vfr if any?? Thank you! I’m on a cbr600f but thinking to go to a 2002-2003 vfr😀
The only "racing mods" I've done to be faster is stiffer suspension, epfa brake pads, Dunlop Q4 tires -1/+2 gearing. Most of being fast is just experience than equipment and I've had this bike since 2005 and track riding since 2014. My newest video is on a cbr600rr, it is a little faster than the vfr but only about 5mph faster on top speed.
@@sweetdjf Thank you David! Yeah I would think you might be a touch faster on a CBR600. Can I please ask you another question🙏🏽, what exhaust were you running in this vid?? I’m thinking of Delkevic right now! Thanks😀🙏🏽!
@@sweetdjf obviously your a good rider I just bought a 2004 vfr800 and love it but just curious why you wanted the vfr I have had mine for about two weeks just wanted to here why you like it
@@dailylife3975I bought a vfr originally for the v4 and just and all arounder for the street. I have -1 front sprocket and +2 on the rear. I lose a little top speed on the front straight but acceleration is much improved. However I wouldn't recommend that gearing if you are riding long distances on the street. Either -1 front or +2 on rear would probably be good for short or medium trip street riding, but your speedometer will incorrectly read high after doing so.
This is a joy to watch and listen. Were u using a quickshifter? In any case, nice shifting and using the whole powerband. Gentle bouncing of the rev limiter made me giggle :)
No quick shifter but I do not use the clutch just blip throttle off and on as I shift. Honda is so conservative on the power output that these can handle being at redline all day.
Dashware, not sure if it's fixed yet but extracting the telemetry data does not work on the desktop GoPro software. I use a couple of online tools to extract and then merge the data into 1. I also use Dashware to merge the videos. After all that I do color correction and upscale to 4k in Davinci resolve. The gauge box I custom made in Dashware after playing around with it

As a 2005 VFR800 owner, you are an Amazon rider and this video is magic 🙌🙌🙌
I appreciate the compliment, thank you!
The magic of the VFR👌

Thanks for the memories,I did this back in the late 90's with my viffer but never got under 3 minutes
Bravo Bravo dude!!!!!Great skills

That was awesome.
I've seen your bike at the track a few times this year. I'm a v4 Honda guy and listening to this thing is just so bonertastic!!!!!!
In it to win it Lol great job dude

Just gutted OEM exhaust with 98 headers. Shock (revalved and sprung f4i shock) and forks were done by dmr performance.
Nice
What is the Gopro mounted to? Some sort of stabilizer ? The video is super smooth. I've only seen this track in Forza, looks exactly the same here.
Mounted to the right mirror mount after mirror is removed. It was recorded on the GoPro 7 black which has hypersmooth stabilization

@@sweetdjf I also noticed my gearing or stock gearing is a little high would you go + 2 teeth on the back sprocket you lower the gearing

Where did buy the fairings from
Plastic is from eBay and the headlight holes are filled in with crashed plastic and Bondo and vinyl wrap on the outside
Is it the RC46 gear driven cam model?
No, it's chain cam with vtec
What software you use for the track map and laptime overlay?

Hello dear! What’s the setup of this beast? Are you using cbs or did you removed it?
I own a 2007 one, it’s my favourite bike ever
Yes still using linked brakes with epfa pads
