Lorne is one of those characters that make an impression! The actor who played him, Andy Hallett, apparently didn't start off his career in entertainment until Patti LaBelle asked him to sing on stage with her! I was going to say a few things, but I think you got all the points I was going to make!

Those grey demons changed the formula for Coke in the 1980's too - that's what you call evil.

May Andy Hallet rest in peace. Very tragic how he died and at such a young age 💔💔💔.
The Host is pretty much Angel's psychotherapist, honest with him and sympathetic (if sometimes snarky), and Angel is honest with him in return in a way he isn't with anyone else. And it is helping. As The Host points out, Angel did show concern for someone else. That's progress.
Andy Hallett (the host as the karaoke bar) is a phenomenal singer. Sadly, he passed away in 2009 at the age of 33 (which was well after Angel ended, so no spoilers there). From what I understand, he developed heart disease after an infection from some dental work spread to his heart.
Further compounding the tragedy, there are only two full length, professional recordings of his music. Truly not enough.
He never fails to captivate me completely. He was truly a remarkable man and I love that people still adore him to this day 😔💜

First Might up date, she is wondering what all the animals do in the club house. She wants to go join, but she did the kitten hop attack across the room and attacked my foot, so maybe she should grow a little bit more.
The ducklings decided the had to get vault suits, so they snuck into the house and got the blue food colouring and dyed each other blue. I really hope it doesn't stain their feathers.

A quirky little story here, in this episode today, but many enjoyable things which seem to almost always be present in Angel. Lots of humor, snarky, and otherwise, nasty demons, and citizens in need of help.
The Host is always funny, even in the most dire of situations, and he certainly pulls no punches when it comes to needling Angel. Yes, he IS the person everyone needs, calm, cool, collected, and always ready with some good, but not always complete, advice. He is a great character.
"... especially when the psychic faints, and a teeny bit of vomit... let's not dwell." 😂
Virginia has some good bits too, when she visits the new office, with her gift package.
The gang is making a comeback. Striking out on their own - as is said - What choice do they have, but to move on?
Cordelia - she always looks for an opportunity - "Are these for everyone?" 🤣
It was interesting that Gene timed "for all eternity" at his moment of bliss, but, most likely, not Denise's. 😅
Your thoughts at the end hit upon, what seems to be, the main point of this episode - Angel starts to see beyond himself a bit, and thinking of how he has left his friends, but will it be too little, too late? Angel has regrets, but it would seem the gang, with their victory in the field, stands ready to move on. Will their friendship be enough to salvage this?

Hello Tom 😊💜 Honestly, anything with our dear Host in it and I'm happy! I do try to focus on the positives when I can, and this episode DID have great moments, amongst a story that not many people seemed to enjoy. That moment with the Host in the library though... when he admitted to learning to drive just then... was worth it 🤣
It is SO HARD to refrain from Googling! I am both wanting to be finished watching so I can actually look up stuff AND check out the actors social media pages (I have seen snippets very briefly but dare not look for long) but doing that will help me to get over the loss of having Buffy and Angel to watch every week, when the sad day arrives!
If you could please do provide a monitor for the squirrels, that would be very thoughtful. They want something to watch when they snack!! Thank you, Tom, I hope you've had a delightful day as you SHOULD 😊💜😊

Not thrilled with the story-line in this one (someone else in the comments already pointed out the issue with the demons & their "golden child"). There's also the couple that I don't care about. Both of them are awful. She should've simply been honest with him & he shouldn't have tried to take away her autonomy. While I don't agree with her approach to ending the relationship, I stopped feeling sorry for him the moment he decided to freeze his girlfriend in time -- essentially ending her life. His moment of choice was also extra creepy. Seeing as he wasn't expecting to freeze anyone except the two of them... what did he think would happen when they were inevitably found?
That said, I love everything between Lorne & Angel. Watching Cordy, Wes, & Gunn find their footing is really great as well. I'll take those last two things & gladly scrub my memory of the rest.

Angel and Lorne talking to Gene Rainey like what he did wasn't horrible always bothered me. Knowing Denise was going to break up with him, he attempted to create a situation where they were in a permanant orgasmic climax forever makes what Gene does a messed up form of rape. Angel and Lorne should have been having an entirely different conversation with him. But then, Angel statutorily raped Buffy, so what's really sad is he problably doesn't even see the badness if Gene's plan had gone right and wasn't going to destroy the world.
I thought Happy Anniversary, unlike the previous episode was a total let down. This really was a 'filler'. Even though the concept of it I think was quite clever, it just doesn't seem to work. Best forgotten really, up there with Beer Bad and Where The Wild Things Are from BTVS pretty awful really.
Never been a fan of this episode. Lauren is great the rest just not for me. I mean come on if these demons that want the end of the world know how to do it and have access to his equipment why not do it themselves.
