Angel S2 upping the quality of episodes again. This one very much a homage to Carrie, with Bethany in that role here. Some great revenge at the end when she chokes her father and fires him out through the window. Great revenge also when Bethany sees through Lilah with Angel there to support her.

17:31 My take on it is that W&H hired the thugs knowing Bethany could deal with them, not that this clears them of any wrong. The thugs were probably clueless pawns that would've harmed Bethany, had she not defended herself. Lilah would've made an educated guess on how this scenario would play out, where the risk to their future assassin was worth testing her abilities.

It is so interesting to see Angel up against 'human' enemies in Wolfram and Hart (as you say, as far as we know???) . There's so many more layers to it, in the show most demons or creatures are portrayed as inherently evil, as in having no choice. With a person it's a decision to be evil which makes the things they do, like putting Bethany in that situation even worse. Really interesting direction and looking forward to seeing how they take this forward.
And totally with you on Cordelia, her character growth from the early Buffy days has been amazing. Thanks as always for the reaction Juliette.
This was where my view of what happened diverts. I absolutely believe the hired goons would have done everything they said they would (the job description of "muscle for hire" doesn't exactly point to a strong moral compass). I also believe Wolfram and Hart hired them knowing that, and what would happen to them this time. Wheels within wheels.
Agreed. And there's no way W&H would have told those goons that Bethany was actually dangerous.

I think the people that Wolfram and Hart hired to attack Bethany weren't given any more information about her than absolutely necessary. They weren't prepared for her to fight back, much less have any power. They certainly weren't expecting to die. Given W&H's low ethical standards, they would 100% hire creeps off the street and say, "see this girl? Go after her and do whatever you want," and they would.
They were trying to provoke a strong emotional response. Wesley managed to do it a more subtle way, but Wolfram and Hart went full out, corner her in an alley. If she didn't truly believe what they were trying to do, the test might not work; so it's simpler for them to approximate a real threat by creating a _real_ threat. If she thought for a second they weren't sincere, they may not get the response they're after.
Lilah Morgan, Lindsey McDonald, Lee Mercer. Wolfram and Hart likes people with the initials L.M. Who's the big bad? People named L.M. at W&H, evil incorporated. There's lots of plot development this season!

I enjoyed the argument, between Cordelia, and Wesley, at the opening. Sort of a childish, as many arguments may be, but still humorous.
At 1:00 - the back and forth between Angel and Cordelia, his brief smile at the poking tongue, "I'm vision girl...", and her triumphant smile, in return.🤣 I agree with you, as to Cordelia's hair.😍 Her entire character continues to show tremendous growth, from her Buffy days. She is a force in this series, and always a joy to see.
I know many are hot for Lilah, but she creeps me out a little more, each time I see her.😨 The whole Wolfram & Hart group just exudes evil. They are interesting people, but evil lawyers - which some would consider to be a redundant phrase. I am not convinced that Lilah had informed the boys of Bethany's powers. W&H seem ready to use anyone, in any way, to promote their ends - the ends always justify the means here.

Wait... People are hot for Lilah? I'm not sure I knew that (actually not being sarcastic for a change haha) but I'm with you there. I mean, both she AND Lindsay have potential to be one of the good guys and fight the good fight, but first they gotta hang up their lawyer badges. It is somewhat of a naive dream of mine that one or both will end up working for Angel 🤣 Ah, I'm so stupidly hopeful at times.
Cordelia in this one was wonderful! I cannot get over her hair when it is thick and wild and wavy. I need to start getting myself my own personal hairdresser because her hair is a DREAM.
Today I need to think about that item on tap for tomorrow and not just think, I need to do it 🤣 so that's on my agenda for today and I'm certainly very excited!

Oh my, watching your reaction today was so nice and relaxing.
It's been a heck of a day. First my cat ran off for a day and a half partying with the rabbits. Then I got a call from the military school for delinquents to come get the ducks because they have been kicked out. The got into a fight with some ground hogs over wethwr or not Willow weighs the same as a duck. Ibhad to drive out and pick them up. Also they spend the entire time begging to be trained to be vampire hunters.
Oh and my cat got a tattoo also.
So me and the alpacas sat back relaxing and watching your reaction.

I wouldn't mind having the power of telekinesis. Just imagine never having to reach for the TV remote again! How is it always just out of reach? Just one of life's many mysteries I guess.

Great of Cordelia to push for Gunn to be put onto the payroll. He is putting his life on the line after all. Now maybe he can buy a proper axe, not that there was anything wrong with the one he had of course, it looked really cool.

I love how Cordelia has developed over the years. She's become one of my favourite characters. I'm in the middle of season 3 in my rewatch, and seeing Cordy all snarky with Xander is hilarious 🤣

You could always just have a ghost for the remote like Cordelia. That way, you get the remote thing without the trauma needed for telekinesis.

"Kay : A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it." Similar for a person may be compassionate or helpful, but people in larger numbers, not so much.
Oooh yes, this is another good one! Bethany is a great character and she definitely has the potential to be a recurring ally. Speaking of which, it's great that Gunn is on the books now, so to speak.
I think Wolfram & Hart is a great Big Bad, and despite them being present since the first episode, they've yet to outstay their welcome. They offer so many great storytelling possibilities as a blanket, background threat, who knows what evil truly lurks within those boardrooms?

Judging where the piece of rebar went through Angel's chest, had it been a wooden stake, it would not have done Angel in. It seems to me that he was punctured in the upper right area of his chest.

Bethany is a more interesting character due to her issues than some one demensional hero characters who moan and groan over things that don't feel as horrible as they should that today's pop culture is bogged down by.
