Armored Core's gimmick is you can swap body parts, back weapons, and arm weapons, if they follow 30 Minutes Missions with hard-points all over the body it might break the illusion, lol.
The hardpoints do match those of the standard Armored Core ones. A weapon for each hand (if you don't have full weapon arms), something for each shoulder, a torso equip. Without going to the minor equipment such as power plants, you then have the arms, legs, and torso...
The rectangular holes on the arm weapons are for the "weapon bay" to allow them to be stored in the AC's back. You'll see when you build Steel Haze. Looking forward to it.
They did do some older ones in resin under their b-club line of garage kits, but unfortunately not in plastic. Maybe if these end up popular enough they’ll do some injection kits of those
@@BLAZE084I have a kotobukiya white glint. They’re beautiful but kinda hellish to build and are extremely fragile. Bandai armored cores are much more sturdy, so it’d still be sick to see them release some from previous titles too with their quality.

I know the pile bunker is coming in an option weapons set that I plan on grabbing to slap onto the HG Gouyo Custom.
Honest Brute got a kit. If he got a kit, we're definitely getting more popular ACs. I'm assuming we'll get most of if not all the armor parts minus maybe Lamm. Tank parts might be a toss up too, but I don't see why they wouldn't make Ortus
@@ivanj46 If they do bosses, I'm guessing it'll be under the Robot Spirits line like SOL. HAL is getting released there too, so that's a bit of a toss up for the model kit, but I don't know why they wouldn't make the model kit either for the parts
9:00 the tab is actually for the weapon racks for the back the slot is a slightly different size to the 30mm one for weapon attachments. My best guess as to why its in the 30mm line is that it has the same aspect of customization within the ac line as a big part of the games are designing your own out of all the available parts and in the kits the head, torso, arms, and waist/legs all connect the same way between kits like they would in game.
Armored Core Gameplay is pretty much the same as 30mm part swapping. Lots of expression with part builds and paint jobs/logo design. Definitely made for Model Kits. And people have been wanting something like this for a long time.
What is so hard to get about it being 30MM? It's a model kit line from bandai that features customizable mechs and compatibility with each other, and Armored Core features customizable mechs and compatibility with each other. It's that simple! Why make a brand new trademark and model kit line when there's a perfectly serviceable line right there that could use extra promotion? Bandai has has issues with making way too many redundant model kit lines so I'm actually glad that this one actually makes sense.
Just being a sub-line of HG seems to make just as much sense similar to HG Full Metal Panic series. Yes, AC is themed around customization but that’s where the similarity to 30MM ends. Bandai isn’t even featuring any AC/30MM kit mixing in their promotional materials, which is also strange
I see. In my perspective it's pointless to name any non-gunpla model kit released nowadays an HG since everyone already perceives HG quality as the norm. The 30MM label, in addition to already being similar to high grade, also informs the casual customer that it's purposefully built to be modular. Basically Armored Core 30MM = HG + Modularity, there's no need to slap HG onto the label again.
Thanks for the Video! Any news on the Kotobukiya AC6 Kits? Think i might stick with them if they're 1/72 or 1/100 scale, but all i've seen is some huge prototypes that could have been figures?
Disappointed that USA Gundam Store still hasn't shipped my preorder of the AC kits and at this rate may not ship it until Q2 of next year. Hopefully I'll actually get it at some point.
p sure its in 30mm not for the hard points, but joint compatibility. hg doesnt have that, even within the same line (my hg msf arms dont work in my hg lightning buster torso). said joints are ball joint shoulders and peg leg connections and ball joint neck (this one hg does usually keep).
I too question why some releases are in the lines they are. They released three Uma Musume Pretty Derby kits, two under Figure-rise Standard and one under 30 Minute Sisters (of the same character that was a Figure-rise Standard), then all the The Idol Master kits under 30 Minute Sisters. I like the kit, but it doesn't suit the style of mecha I personally go for.
I believe this is more for compatibility. Figure rise stuff usually don't compatible even with same line. While 30 minutes series are compatible within the series. That why idolmaster is on 30 minutes series. They want to market it as interchanging part as gimmick.
I wonder if Bandai put the Armored Core models in their 30MM kit series to skirt whatever contractual agreement Kotobukiya has? Like, maybe Bandai legally can't make a dedicated Armored Core model kit line due to Kotobukiya having the license but can make a subline in an already existing model kit line? I've heard of toy companies doing similar things in the past.

@@somechinesedude5466 I could see that. I just wonder if there is a specific reason why Armored Core was placed inside of the 30MM label while something like the Kyoukai Senki models were instead given their own HG line even though HG and 30MM kits are pretty much compatible. I wonder if Bandai thought putting the Armored Core kits in 30MM would get more newcomers to the hobby (AC fans) to try out their other 30MM models since they are all part of the same label hence the catalog pamphlet? I don't know Japanese very well so searching for this kind of behind the scenes information is kind of difficult for me but I always find it really interesting to hear.
As much as I like this, I still wish we got something just a little bit larger scale wise. A real shame we only ge trhe one set of hands too. I hope we get more weapons sets added to the line if for no other reason than kitbashing with 30MS and other kits.
@@priyobudihutomo704 the main issue I have with kotobukiya's kits (apart from how easily they fall apart) is that the weapons aren't color separated. Some kits suffer less for it than others, but for the price they're sold at that's a major downside imo.
1) When it was first announced that Bandai's AC kits were in the 30mm line, I was worried about the kit having random 3mm connection points everywhere-as I am primarily collect AC kits, I am actually happy that it only has the necessary points for weapons. To your first point, that’s exactly what I’m saying. If they didn’t want to sacrifice the AC line to make the kits more like standard 30MM then this should have been an HG line. Second point, I have no idea the context of what kit you’re referring to but preorders are always capped at or under the amount we’re allocated from Bandai (or whatever supplier).
