  • Bear McCreary's beautiful 'The Shape Of Things To Come' from Battlestar Galactica played 800% slower using PaulStretch; this becomes a divine symphony.

    I came onto this video thinking it would some lousy drawn out version that wouldn't do Bear McCreary much justice, but the beauty of this version left me..speechless, I had to just listen, not hear, but actually listen to the notes, the sounds that have all be coordinated so divinely. No matter what pace it is at, this song is truly awe-inspiring. I feel as if I have ascended to the plane where the characters of BSG went to when they past away, and can hear the angels playing this great symphony

    As I'm sure has been said before, I LOVE Shape of Things to Come, Passacaglia, and An Easterly View. They are sublime and I adore them. This is wonderful. It allows me to more fully immerse myself in all of my favorite notes sustained. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

    I just keep coming back to this, over and over. It's stunning. I've applied the same treatment to Bach and Tchaikovsky, and the results are sometimes amazing. This feels like the piece is naturally meant to be played this way. Great work!

    I love the original version from the show (what a great show!) but this version is pure magick! I didn't expect to hear all the nuances of the strings at this speed. Good job!!!

    lights and reality off... headphones and boosters on... See if just for a little while... the tiny blue ball of drama... covid... noise... just get smaller behind you... as these strings pull you away from it all... eyes closed... mind open... heart melted.
    Thanks Bear.... thanks Ben...

    I m an astronaut on a mission. I m outside the space ship and suddenly a mailfuction happen and my safety rope cut, i can t do anything and i found myself drifting into the dark space. I have only 24 minutes left and I m watching my home earth for the last time. That s the music i would had chosen for my last trip. Raw fear, anxiety, despair but at the same time...peace!
    Incredible idea thank you for posting this

      interesting. I tend to agree... but on my "Certain Death" mixtape, I'd start with David Bowie's "Space Oddity (Major Tom)" then meld into this piece... So at least my soul would experience a last moment of irony upon its release.

    To me, this piece (first time I hear it) takes me through birth, childhood, death and grief, learning tolerance, acceptance, because in the end we only live ones and we should make the best of it. For our sake. Btw this is a master rework. GG

    Thank you for your beautiful edit. I am pretty sure Samuel Anders heard this music when he is connected. I am sharing his quote;
    "When you can feel the perfection of creation. The beauty of physics, you know, the wonder of mathematics. The elation of action and reaction, and that is the kind of perfection that I want to be connected to."

    "It's in the FRAKKING SONG!"
    It's a shame this was not some kind of Easter egg within the music of the show, as ambience. Or using Along the Watchtower in the same way (would be more appropriate). A beautiful musical composition turned into something that elevates something mystical beyond our eardrums and into our inner psyche.

    I think maybe 250% slower max would have been sufficient. I feel because his other pieces Allegro and Passacaglia are the same song but in different time signatures that by making it so so much slower it kinda defeats the integrity of the theme. It does sound like church music for sure though.

    I just realized that this must be how super-intelligent, ultra-fast AI systems would perceive human music. media or movements and actions in general.
    The world of human activity must seem ultra-time-stretched to an ultra-fast super-intelligence.
    (They might even see enough beauty in our works of art to let us live to coexist, interact or merge with them... Or they will find a way to use human creativity and emotion as a resource for the hive mind, as long as it can't be emulated or reproduced in some more efficient or fruitful way.)

  • @AMarcinP
    @AMarcinP 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Before you go attacking me, does it say that God was the bush or that God was in the image of a bush? No. It doesn't.
    Genesis 3:1-3
    1) Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
    2) And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

    This is neat to listen to, but most of the big impact from the song is lost due to drawing it out, imo.

  • @AMarcinP
    @AMarcinP 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wrong. For if that were the case, then you, also being made in the image of God, ruin everything by existing, which isn't true. Be careful with what you say. Words hurt, even said in jest and even if you didn't really mean it.

  • @AMarcinP

    Ok. A couple things. Why does God have an image? I don't know. But it says that we were all made in His image. And I'm not sure what you mean by God being all things. From what I have read, the Bible doesn't say that. Not at all. God is separate from His creation. He isn't his own creation. Nobody created God. He has always existed. And I think you misread the part about the flaming bush. Go back and read it. I think that is what you are referring to.
