    Dear Mr. Milone,
    Thank you so much for your courage and devotion to our Savior to honorably and honestly audit the results of operations and financial position for the Vatican. Like you, I am a Deloitte (Haskins & Sells) alumnus. Like you, I am a practicing and contributing Roman Catholic.
    You didn't sue enough. Money appears to be more precious to some in the Vatican than Fear of the Lord. You watch over those the Vatican. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. We need to have much more men of your caliber.
    Thank you so much again. Ad Marjorem Dei Gloriam

The priest wouldn't even give him a minute to finish his prayer!! This has happened on several occasions!!
      We were chucked out during the Easter vigil and we had to stand in the rain, after midnight as our transport arrangements were for I think 1:30 am, as told in the letter.
      My priest was also supporting the invasion of Iraq and he thought not much about the dead civilians!!

    Incredible. I don't believe that Parolin or the Pope was shocked at anything that Señor Milone told them. If anything, I think they were shocked that he found out. Feigning shock or dismay is something we need to be suspicious of with these people. 11 years of this pontificate with these men in charge should have taught us to be cautious. NO one involved in any of the numerous crimes (abuse, embezzlement, to name two) has been punished.

    • @mistermonqui819
      @mistermonqui819 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It occurred to me the Pope may have used Milone to get dirt on the bad players in the Curia. When he had the dirt, he no longer needed Milone (or Pell for that matter) to reform anything. I can't prove this of course, but it seems suspicious the Pope just stopped having meetings with him without him asking himself, "Didn't I use to have regular meetings with Mr. Milone??? I wonder what happened to him? I should probably check up on him to see how his findings are going." And then after he got sacked, one would think the Pope would be like, "Hmmmm, why did he get sacked? He was doing an excellent job. Who sacked him?"
      That said, it's hard to say what kind of pressure any pope is under in Vatican court life. I don't know what power, if any, a pope actually has--so I'm open to being wrong. Although I must admit, I'm as close to 100% certain as anyone can be that this pontificate is not naive and should therefore not be afforded the benefit of the doubt.

    The bottom line is that all funds and monies need to be accounted for and then audited internally and externally. No agency, even our own Church should ever think they are beyond reproach. Furthermore all accounts in the Vatican should be published publicly showing all incomes and expenditures. Of particular interest should be compensations paid to victims of sexual crimes committed by the clergy. The amounts may be confidential but subjected to strict auditing and approval by the very top of the hierarchy.
    For too long, decades and centuries have the Vatican and churches throughout the world
    been secretive of their funds. They all need to make a full and honest ‘confession’ to the 1.4 billion Catholics in the world.

      @@RS1-23 An excellent interview. I fully agree and prayerfully accompany Mr. Milone in this matter. It is necessary that this area of corruption as well as others be once and for all irradicated from the the Catholic church at all levels. The people throughout the world who are still practicing members of the church need to see that the courage needed for appropriate action is being taken. Thank you Mr. Milone for your courage and desire to clean up this dishonesty and injustice.

Are there ruthless forces in the Vatican, near the Holy Father in terms of political and criminal malfeasance or is the Holy Father to have some blame in the matter. This auditor sounds credible, honest man that has to weigh carefully his words because he realises he has commitment not speak publicly in the greatest detail. I m actually surprised on the level of detail he does mention, its more than i expected.
    He also speaks on the pope as an honest man. I think that may be true, the current pope comes across more humble than the previous one.

    These two well researched and articulate men highlight the myriad of harm and mayhem occurrences this institution has dealt humanity, right up to the present day.
    They continue to gloss over issues and hope they will disappear. Evil and corruption grows where power and riches lie.
