This must be the best Steeldive review I have seen. The photography, location and all the effort is visible that makes this a spectacular video. I wear my Steeldive daily for the last 6months and it still looks the same like the first day. I ordered a blue dial steeldive because I am so highly impressed with the quality. Keep up the good work. Definitely subscribing…
Great review! My Steeldive SD1970 came with a bracelet that had solid end links and 6 hole micro adjust clasp which gave me a perfect fit. There were some sharp corners that smoothed out with a bit of rubbing with a peg wood. This one is a fast runner but well in spec and I've had more expensive watches that run worse. So at only $69 US I'm pleased with this daily wearer. Almost forgot to add that the lume terrific and a real surprise at a watch of this price point.
I paid £56 delivered to the UK, the equivalent of 65 euros. Absolute steal of a bargain. Superb quality been wearing it for 2 weeks now and it’s only lost about 4 or 5 seconds, in that time.
Hello!..... mine is black dial and three years on my wrist, still in pristine condition...running perfect.....very happy with it...I am wearing it with an engineer bracelet , heavy duty spring bars and milled clasp....perfect without breaking the bank!!...new subscriber...Cheers!!!!..
I just ordered a steeldive capt w. I got green with a green tropic strap. With shipping from steeldive was $119 shipped from chn Shenzing to be exact. Was the best reviewed of the chn brands. And a Seiko would be a LOT more, and this really is superior to a Seiko (sapphire) and I think this is 200m (?).
I grabbed this excellent piece for $54 on the 11.11 sale. Improvements to the bracelet were made (solid end links & fully milled clasp), but I still love it on a rubber strap best. Unreal how they can afford to make it & sell it for that price.
Mate fantastic review and camera work. As a Dad of 4, between keeping them alive and the mortgage there's not alot of space for the price of the original. So appreciate this and it's awesome that it's such good quality. It's my birthday coming up and I'm looking forward to one from my wife.
v2 is a blinder - new chevroned polished/brushed handset, solid endlinks and 6 position milled micro-adjust clasp. Have to admit, I did consider going for the sterile option. Very glad I didn't. Quite proud to wear their version. Looking forward to this thing becoming a classic in its own right. Can't wait for them to shrug off the chrysalis...
I have about 5 of them including 2 pieces in bronze casing , I suggest you guys go get them while they last , I moded them and waiting for their new owners that ordered the mods , all in all it is a cool watch and dirt cheap , perfect as a base for mods , add about 150€ in high quality parts like sapphire crystal + new dial+hands and it will look spectacular 👌
Just recently bought the Addiesdive sterile dial version for $84.67 USD. It's a truly amazing watch for the price, and would still be amazing for 3-4x the price. I switched out the stainless bracelet for a whiskey brown leather NATO, which gives it a great look and helps it wear very comfortably.
Picked up mine for less that $100 CDN, around $69.00 US of Ali. Sterile Addiesdive. The thing is nicer than my SKX007. Put it on a bond NATO and love it. Just waiting for my Seestern 300T. The quality of the recent Chinese homages is excellent.
I bought one of these about 6 months ago, second hand. Totally delighted with it, on reflection I'd have been happy paying retail for a brand new one. About£109 in the UK at the moment but of course you can get it cheaper on Ali. I wear mine on a silicone strap, didn't like the bracelet.
I have found the Richie Silicon Elite strap in black to be better than the NATO. Tried both (already had them). The silicon solves that "one hole is too tight, next hole is too loose" problem, since it has a bit of elasticity while still feeling secure. I am enjoying my "Capt. Willard", it wears great and keeps terrific time if worn daily.
Black Friday yesterday got it for $74 shipped! With SS bracelet with new clasp. Also getting black and white waffle straps. Prolly getting the SD 1975 eventually as well.
I have the watch and I'm extremely impressed with it. I have a few other Chinese homages but none really impress me as much or give the same feeling when wearing them. I have decided not to buy any more but I would have to replace this one if something happened to it. Great video. New Subsciber here.
Dear Pablo, watching your videos is truly a delightful experience. Tremendous photography, captivating narrative and always very informative - a true learning experience. Truly amazing what some of these Chinese companies are able to produce for the cost, and this piece by Steeldive is a great example. Just brilliant. Thank you...Muchas gracias mi amigo. All the best always to you and family 👍
Felo querido amigo. Muchas gracias a ti. Thanks for watching our videos and for so nice comments. We are so glad you like our videos. Hope to keep reading your comments.
Stunning value for money. Had mine as a work banger for a while. I've been eyeing up the heritage turtle but the SD already does everything I need, it's just the pull of the Seiko branding, spending another 800 to get a watch I'm scared of damaging sounds ridiculous. Still want one though.
I agree all you have said. Why to buy a watch that costs you 800, when you can buy it eight times cheaper. I want as well all the original seiko. That is true. But you know... they are overpricing their watches.
Just watching this know as I bought one three years ago and it served me well but had it stolen just ordered a new one they are great watches and it was my go to watch never had a problem with it back then you got free rubber strap that I would sometimes use any way I’ve pulled trigger on a new one in blue pops in the sun great review thanks
Just a wonderfully thoughtful, non judgmental account of a likeable watch. No BS. Gotta love that these days. Production value? On par with the best out there. Subscribed gladly.
I have Invicta 5053 and def ❤ this watch. It's awesome and it doesn't matter if it is another day in desk diving, another day in the vineyard, or just another day on pumping iron. Great review, def I will buy this one.
I love Seiko divers and have several. This design has not drawn me strongly enough for the Seiko price tag so Have one of these on the way. I think it was 110 CAD / most affordable watch I have bough in a while. Really good video. Confused about the 'hollow end links' though - they look pretty solid to me.
This is a very nicely made video! I really enjoy my SteelDive and I agree with most of your thoughts, especially on the strap. I ordered mine with the silicone strap, which is lovely, but very quickly put it on a parachute style strap. It really draws your eye to the case. Cheers!
I have owned a SteelDive SD1970 for about 3 months now with an Uncle Strap GL831 olive drab band. I also have a Seiko SRPE093 that I alternate wearing with the 1970. I like both watches yet always wear the SteelDive more as I personally like reading the time with baton hands and square indices rather than arrows pointing at circles. I do very much like my Seiko turtle watch due to the fact I prefer a day/date dial, yet for some reason I always wear the SteelDive more prompting me to always price out the Seiko Willard reissue on Chrono24, but my disposable income is limited and I am very content with what I have.
Dear Pablo, Alex, André and Andy, congratulations for another amazing video. Whether in Spanish or English, your work is simply the best, as Tina Turner used to say. I send you a big hug and I thank the fabulous Google translator😂😂😂
Hi my dear friend Jose Antonio. In this channel you can say hello as well to Andy, he is the person who puts her nice irish voice for this videos. So in this english channel we are 4 🤣🤣. A big huge for you too. And thank you so much for your uncondittional support. Chers my dear friend!!
I have bought the SteeldDve 1970 and 1980, both have been wonderful choices. They fit well, wear comfortable and accurate within 5 secs a day (i'm not planning a military operation or bank job so accuracy is not the be all). And I love the retro style with the reliable;e NH35A movement.
Amazing review! Keep up the great work! I'm waiting mine to arrive from 8-8 sale earlier this month. You can get the watch at around 60$-65$ in those sales. Hint: usually they will have double date sales 8-8, 9-9, 10-10, 11-11, 12-12, which should bring the price down even more.
I have two of these. My daily wear replacing a Tag F1. I have one on a Marine Nationale Strap and another on a waffle strap. Good balance on wrist and tough; dropped one several times with no damage.
Have 2 of these the black and green dial cant fault them! also have steel dive SD 1975 Ditto. Hope you do get a Vostok as i have many and love them all they have an amazing history and design they are so addictive you wont stop oat on haha and amazingly modable to.
I have a hankering for another one of these since selling mine a year ago. I got the bronze addiesdive version but the bezel insert is poorly executed so going back to the stainless watch.
Even the Dalmatian likes it, it’s not perfect but for the money it’s amazing. The bracelet whilst generous, isn’t great but I slung it on a rubber strap that cost 3 quid and it looks great. Great review btw.
Thank you! Yes, for the price it is a great watch. Although, there is a small percentage of people who buy this piece and it arrives to them damaged. It's usually the caliber that comes damaged.
I have an Invicta and an Addiesdive puck homage, I like the puck better but both are off the chart value wise. China is finally doing something cheaper and BETTER now.
Great review own two Steeldive capt willard homages a Green dial (hulk) & Black dial version for £65 inc taxes on Ali Express. They came with steel bracelet your right its a military watch tried a rubber waffle & tropical strap went for a French marine nationale strap they look outstanding all the best from the UK.
I have this watch; I purchased it for 2,237 Kč (Czech koruna, which comes out to $100.04 USD or €94.53) and it arrived about three weeks ago (free international shipping). I'd say it's probably the best value-for-money watch on the market today. It's very well-made and I'm pleased with it.
I ordered one for around 99 aud that's including 10% GST tossing up between this one and a tandorio 62mas i preferred the tandorio because it was a more exact reproduction, I got the willard because i like bracelets and it had solid end links and milled clasp plus and a better box.
I took a chance on an Aliexpress turtle, £70 something quid for a NH36 powered red and dark red themed, resin bezel insert with sapphire crystal, C3 lume and I have not regretted it one bit other than it must have been knocked quite badly in transit as I had to regulate it as it was running quite slow and upon opening saw the arm had been moved off the centre mark and putting it back doesn't lose much a day if anything. However the poor thing has been superseded, yesterday I got my first tuna, heavily modded with a machined set of casings engraved with a barbed wire effect, sapphire crystal on the front with AR and a sapphire etched tuna caseback, 4R35 and is blingy as heck, paid just over £50 delivered for it and needs a new stem but quite happy in getting two big boys Seiko's in the collection joined by a NH35 powered CWC/Hamilton military clone in bronze... all these heavy hitting Seiko's hehe BTW there is a couple folks who sell UK stock Amphibia's, I was due to join them but then Putin kinda upset it all, I have poss the largest Soviet watch collection here in the UK, about 40 Vostok's alone plus a full set of Slava and Sekonda "tanks"... I do like me funky fresh Soviet timepieces :D
Great reviews Pablo, never heard your voice in spanish, but "this Voice' is actually amazing, very good story telling and very good acting skills, reminds me Michael Fisher aka MrMobile. By the way, I'm a new subscriber and I bought the watch a few days ago, you were very entertaining, keep on with the reviews, A. from Firenze (I)
I have this watch, or rather my kid has this watch and we all know that when a company says their products are indestructible and shark and bear proof, we know that this means nothing compared to if they said their products are "kid proof"! Well after 4 months of wearing the Capt Willard SD version: has he broken it?, scratched it, had it leak water (surfing, swimming etc. No diving yet too young LOL) but is crazy over accuracy; the calibre keeps as good a time as some well know Swiss calibre, sorry! So if the build quality is good (and it is) and the time keeping accuracy is there; then why not eh? Go get one.
i bought the sd 1970 with the pt-5000 and i can't praise it enough they even changed the stamp clasp to a milled one. if your thinking about getting one than do it. you won't get a better watch for the price.
Correction. The links on this watch are solid end links, as opposed to the cheaper and nastier folded links. They are in part hollow, which makes sense, where would you connect the bracelet link and insert the spring bar otherwise?
You have to watch Ramon Estevez back where his ancestors started in the film The Way - a really great film if, like me, you enjoy journeys. And it has your other Norn Irn fella Jimmy Nesbitt in it. Liking the gum tree b-roll, just like here in Tasmania! Oh, and I also own the watch, which is what brought me here.
The Watchdives version has a nicer clasp than the Steeldive for a bit less money. The Addiesdive is similar to the SD1970 but also less expensive. The new 6105 8000 slim turtle homage from Steeldive is quite nice. Good review.
About the hollow end links. This watch is an homage of a watch from the 1970s, so it makes sense that it would have hollow end links rather than the more modern solid ones. I actually dislike the ceramic bezel insert for this reason - I would have preferred an aluminum one that would scratch and ding like the original vintage one.
ps. Keeping the one I have in its original state, and buying an identical other from Ali: flat saphire will be swapped out for much sexier domed acrylic. :)
I got one of those Chinese "coppages" as everyone was so much impressed about quality and finish. What a blunder. It was an SKX copy by Heimdallr, as soon as I opened the box I could see that the chapter ring had two scratches on it. Bad, deep scratches that most definitely would have been seen by the many hands and eyes in the assembly line. I guess that the CCP doesn't like very much if in a production line, someone keeps spotting issues.
Just got one ordered for under $60, looks like a great watch for under $60. I wish it just said steeldive only instead of having the logo with steeldive underneath it, just go with "steeldive "
I bought another variant with white face, NO brand, second marks on the chapter ring, and circular applied hour markers. I modded with SEIKO stickers and a black NATO strap, to give a PANDA color scheme. All in, the watch cost me only $73, incl strap and SEIKO applied silver dial stickers.
The Seiko 8110 (Cpt.Willard) also had the beveled edge to the crystal, but with a slight dome. The SD1970 sapphire crystal is beveled but flat, making the bevel appear more pronounced. I also have the Cronos L6006 (with Bronze case and high beat PT5000 movement), which is an absolute STEAL at only $130 (on sale Aliex). The Cronos L6006 does have a slightly pronounced double dome crystal with beveled edge. It's a superior watch, imho, to the excellent SD1970 (which I also own). Cannot go wrong with either of them, imho. If you fancy bronze, I cannot think of a better deal than the L6006.
actually, the SD1970 in my country, france, is 97 eu without all the aliexpress discounts. i got them for 86eu 1 year ago, and they were around 140 eu 6 months ago. the new version with different colors, red, orange and, yellow, are around 130eu. it's the cheapest Sd between the SD1970, the 1974, the 1975 tuna, and the 1996 . the bronze versions of the Tuna and the willard are around 185/195eu.. and nope, it's far from a clone of the 6105 seiko ! position of the crown is different, bracelet is 20 instead of 19, bezel insert is ceramic instead of aluminium, dial marks is 200m instead of 150, no lume dot at 12 on the bezel insert , the crown had a logo instead of a "lock" written on it. the bezel has lume, the orignal don't, etc..you have all these features, on the only real clone of the 6105 : the gorgeous Rdunae Willard with the exact characteristics of the original, and is around 175eu.
This must be the best Steeldive review I have seen. The photography, location and all the effort is visible that makes this a spectacular video. Wonderful, wonderful review of a watch I am waiting to arrive from China. Very informative and entertaining. 👍🏻
Excellent review!
Love steel dive and watch dives Co. Good movements too 😁 and great prices have 3 kinds of watches from them
Very interesting review! I enjoyed the philosophical discussion of homage watches and the creative photography.
I grabbed this excellent piece for $54 on the 11.11 sale. Improvements to the bracelet were made (solid end links & fully milled clasp), but I still love it on a rubber strap best. Unreal how they can afford to make it & sell it for that price.
I have 3 divers, 2 Casio Marlins and a Steeldive Willard. I have my eyes on a Steeldive SD1953 next.
Great work. Thanx.
Mate fantastic review and camera work. As a Dad of 4, between keeping them alive and the mortgage there's not alot of space for the price of the original. So appreciate this and it's awesome that it's such good quality. It's my birthday coming up and I'm looking forward to one from my wife.
Hey how is the watch working out?
Did you get a SteelDive for your birthday?
I did a year on it's awesome. Runs time tight, looks amazing, wears great. Better quality than my Seiko.
Mine is on order! The real Captain Willard is nice, but the Steeldive is handsome in its own way.
v2 is a blinder - new chevroned polished/brushed handset, solid endlinks and 6 position milled micro-adjust clasp.
Have to admit, I did consider going for the sterile option.
Very glad I didn't.
Quite proud to wear their version.
Looking forward to this thing becoming a classic in its own right.
Can't wait for them to shrug off the chrysalis...
v2 doesn't have blue ar coating
I have about 5 of them including 2 pieces in bronze casing , I suggest you guys go get them while they last , I moded them and waiting for their new owners that ordered the mods , all in all it is a cool watch and dirt cheap , perfect as a base for mods , add about 150€ in high quality parts like sapphire crystal + new dial+hands and it will look spectacular 👌
Ive watched hundred’s of watch reviews and this is one of the best! Im eyeing this watch and this video may lead to the purchase.
Thank you Chris!! I encourage you to try one.
Black (logo) on SS bracelet delivered from China (steeldive store) to the UK for £73 during the aliexpress 11/11 sale. Well impressed so far.
You can not believe the quality. Like you said. If they charged you like 4 times the price it would still be a graet watch
Just bought an Addie tutrtle like this one for 65 buck. Pulled the trigger swiftly😂😂
Amazing watch for the price !! And best lume of my collection…. Some of my watches are over $3000 !!!! NH35 super precise …. What a watch !!!
Yes, I was surprised of the regulation of the NH35, better than my Seiko SRPE093
Ive got one. Great price for the quality.
Great video!!! I ordered my SD1970 two days ago and I can't wait.
Stunning value for money. Had mine as a work banger for a while. I've been eyeing up the heritage turtle but the SD already does everything I need, it's just the pull of the Seiko branding, spending another 800 to get a watch I'm scared of damaging sounds ridiculous. Still want one though.

Your alliteration is on point. You can write mad ad copy.
Ordered last week Dec 6, delivery Tue Dec 13, from Steeldive Watch Store. Cost $107 US. Looking forward to wearing it.
Excellent review on possibly one of the best value watches out there.
Great review. Get going 🚀
Just a wonderfully thoughtful, non judgmental account of a likeable watch. No BS. Gotta love that these days. Production value? On par with the best out there. Subscribed gladly.
From Italy taken in December for € 77.00 on Aliexpress, with steel bracelet with updated clasp.
This is a very nicely made video! I really enjoy my SteelDive and I agree with most of your thoughts, especially on the strap. I ordered mine with the silicone strap, which is lovely, but very quickly put it on a parachute style strap. It really draws your eye to the case. Cheers!
Great video. I think I'll get myself one.
Desconocía que también hacías contenido en inglés, nuevo suscriptor en este otro canal.
The sapphire towering 1mm above case level is not a defect, simply because it looks much nicer this way. Best value for money diver watch !
As Dalmatian guy I am really proud that my compatriot lives in your house! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
I have owned a SteelDive SD1970 for about 3 months now with an Uncle Strap GL831 olive drab band. I also have a Seiko SRPE093 that I alternate wearing with the 1970. It’s cheaper now, and hopefully the updated version. But $51.00 is really super worth your money on 7/23/24.
I have bought the SteeldDve 1970 and 1980, both have been wonderful choices. They fit well, wear comfortable and accurate within 5 secs a day (i'm not planning a military operation or bank job so accuracy is not the be all). And I love the retro style with the reliable;e NH35A movement.
mine arrived today. $60 shipped to usa
The newist version has a clear AR coating, not blue. And a milled clasp.
Great update!
Didnt know that kind of sales!! Let me know what you think about the watch when you can touch it.
I have two of these. My daily wear replacing a Tag F1. I have one on a Marine Nationale Strap and another on a waffle strap. Good balance on wrist and tough; dropped one several times with no damage.
, I agree with you entirely great video
How do you not have more subscribers, this review was amazing! Subbed and looking forward to more.
Have 2 of these the black and green dial cant fault them! also have steel dive SD 1975 Ditto. Hope you do get a Vostok as i have many and love them all they have an amazing history and design they are so addictive you wont stop oat on haha and amazingly modable to.
Thank you my friend 😁😁😀😀
Just got mine today.
Very nice
Only doenside is the glass protrudes above the bezel which could get damages, however, very smart
This will probably be the next watch I buy
Thank you for the great review. I wish you'd put the Samurai and the Turtle side by side to give us the exact feeling of the size difference.
I have a hankering for another one of these since selling mine a year ago. I got the bronze addiesdive version but the bezel insert is poorly executed so going back to the stainless watch.
Great review just picked the 1980 version up in the sale £62 delivered to UK 👍
Even the Dalmatian likes it, it’s not perfect but for the money it’s amazing. The bracelet whilst generous, isn’t great but I slung it on a rubber strap that cost 3 quid and it looks great. Great review btw.

AUD133 (EUR85/USD90) as of July 2022
Simply cracking value
crazy good vid production.
£68 shipped for me but I got a first time buyers offer and I believe there was a discount on too.
It’s just perfect.
I have an Invicta and an Addiesdive puck homage, I like the puck better but both are off the chart value wise. China is finally doing something cheaper and BETTER now.
🇬🇧It’s a steal at this price😂😃👍🇬🇧
Great review own two Steeldive capt willard homages a Green dial (hulk) & Black dial version for £65 inc taxes on Ali Express.
They came with steel bracelet your right its a military watch tried a rubber waffle & tropical strap went for a French marine nationale strap they look outstanding all the best from the UK.

I've owned one for 2 years. It runs 15/20 seconds slow. That's my only beef. Still within specs of the nh35 movement.
I ordered one for around 99 aud that's including 10% GST tossing up between this one and a tandorio 62mas i preferred the tandorio because it was a more exact reproduction, I got the willard because i like bracelets and it had solid end links and milled clasp plus and a better box.

never heard your voice in spanish, but "this Voice' is actually amazing, very good story telling and very good acting skills, reminds me Michael Fisher aka MrMobile.
By the way, I'm a new subscriber and I bought the watch a few days ago, you were very entertaining, keep on with the reviews, A. from Firenze (I)
Just ordered one myself, 5 days it will be here :D £37 looks like such a bargin
They are a bargain. SteelDives are a great watch.
Great review... I just ordered the addiedive version for 99 USD
Great review 🤟🏼
Thank you Marcus 🤟🤟
I have this watch, or rather my kid has this watch and we all know that when a company says their products are indestructible and shark and bear proof, we know that this means nothing compared to if they said their products are "kid proof"! Well after 4 months of wearing the Capt Willard SD version: has he broken it?, scratched it, had it leak water (surfing, swimming etc. No diving yet too young LOL) but is crazy over accuracy; the calibre keeps as good a time as some well know Swiss calibre, sorry! So if the build quality is good (and it is) and the time keeping accuracy is there; then why not eh? Go get one.
GREAT REVIEW! THANKS!
i bought the sd 1970 with the pt-5000 and i can't praise it enough they even changed the stamp clasp to a milled one. if your thinking about getting one than do it. you won't get a better watch for the price.
Just got a NH35 Steel dive willard for £47 with rubber strap (inc tax and postage) on sunday. Summer sale and discount code
Have you looked at the Seiko SRP777!
I own the green version. It is now 112 SGD here in Singapore.
I already suscribed, i'm eagerly waiting for that invicta vs steeldive video, cheers
Great review…!!! 👍😊
The Watchdives version has a nicer clasp than the Steeldive for a bit less money. The Addiesdive is similar to the SD1970 but also less expensive. The new 6105 8000 slim turtle homage from Steeldive is quite nice. Good review.
Total: CAD$ 72.69, with rubber band and NH35. Sale price /w free shipping.
I have an OD green dive strap on mine.
There are no hollow end links on this watch, don’t know wheee that came from..?
@@e28forever30 He said the end links were hollow at 4:49. Maybe they have updated them to solid links since the review was made?
@@thepenultimateninja5797
They always were solid links, since V1.
Part of them is hollow, of course, to fit the link and the spring bar.
@@e28forever30 Oh, well I haven't handled one yet, so I was just going by what he said in the review.
I guess that the CCP doesn't like very much if in a production line, someone keeps spotting issues.
buena pablito
I know this video is a year old but mine arrived yesterday. £42 delivered including taxes!!
Mine was £80 inc delivery to UK.
@@jb678901 that sounds like an awesome way to go
Just ordered one for 57 euros!
I just came to compliment the title Chinese apocalypse 😂
i paid 125$ in australia from alli express :)
currently on ali for £44
The Seiko 8110 (Cpt.Willard) also had the beveled edge to the crystal, but with a slight dome.
