I have had the Duro, the SD1970 Willard and an Addiesdive Quartz Diver for almost two years now. Most days I wear the Willard, which has a deviation of around 3-5 seconds a day. I've actually dived with it down to 60 feet, leave it on in the sauna, go swimming in the sea, and it's held up nicely.
Nice job, loved the commentary, a sprinkling of philosophy, crucial feline appraisal in the fishbowl aquatic testing procedure, and a deserved subscription 😉👍
Regarding accuracy. The NH-35 movement can be easily regulated with patience and many trial and error hit and misses. Just unscrew the back and move the regulator very slightly left or right depending on whether you want to slow it down or make it go faster. Compare the time with your smart phone time and write down the variance. Next day compare the time again to see if it's going slow or fast. Readjust as necessary. After several tries I managed to get mine to 3 seconds per day which is excellent. Anything under 10 seconds per day is very good for a mechanical watch.
I dropped my 1970 on the bathroom tile from five feet and the same thing happened to me. My Steel Dive was never the same. I bought a 2nd one that arrived today and so far it is keeping perfect time. The quality of the watch is such that I had to have one that was not damaged from dropping again. Both are 1970 blue versions. Good review. I subscribed.
Most probably your SD1970 just needs a slight adjustment on the regulator on the inside and it will run accurately again. Did it stop working or just wasn't accurate anymore after the dropping?
@@radiocontrolled9181 Just not accurate anymore. It survived the fall without a problem. I will check that adjustment out. I have a bigger problem with that watch. A lug ping tip broke off in the lug hole and I can't get it out. I even tried drilling it.
I have about a dozen pro divers and one SD. The former have never let me down while the latter was a great disappointment. I also have the Duro. Aside from the quartz tick, I have zero complaints.
I've had a Casio for over two years and it has held up very well. I have a Steeldive Willard arriving in two weeks and am looking very forward to it. I paid $44 for the Duro and $54 for the Willard.
Have both the Steeldive SD1970 and the Invicta, Steeldive by far. Also with a timegrapher you can regulate that movement once more to +/- 3-6 seconds .
I found an app time Grapher. Do you take off braclette or straps and just set on screen for 1 min. It reads put and can watch as it happens. Are they accurate enough?
Steeldive has done a great job following in Seiko's footsteps of delivering value in analog watches. Casio analog is very unappealing to me until they can increase the lume.
I agree. It is almost like they believe no one expects lume to be operational on a watch but that is utter bullshit. I use my 1970 and 1953 lumed Steeldives all the time.
I have two of the three. I have the Casio and the Steeldive. For accuracy the win will always go to the Casio as it is Quartz. I have only had the Steeldive for a month two but I really like it and since I only wear it for a day or two in a row and the accuracy has been between 1/2 to seven seconds a day I have to say I prefer it. So I agree.
The willard and 007 3oclock crown and mm300 are the missing seiko homages are on my list ,maybe a sumo but these are just to round out my collection. All of these styles are larger and are just occasionally worn
I got the Steeldive on sale for 65$ and on that price its great however there are issues like bezel misalignment and imperfections on the dial. I dont mind on that pricerange but if they go for 120+ then they need to fix their issues cause they are hit and miss.
I have the Steeldive and the Casio. I really like the Steeldive but I LOVE THE DURO. I'm not sure why. The Steeldives built quality and specs are far superior compared to the Casio but the Duro has won my heart.
I have the fish Duro and if I did not need lume that woks I would wear it much more often. I have other friends who love their Duro's but to a person lume means nothing to them. In fact one believes lume does not work on any watch except for a matter of seconds. Of course the only lumed watches he has ever owned are cheap ones. Go figure.
Just sold mine on after a week of ownership, man that NH movement is all over the place - 10 seconds during the night in just over 8 hours. Glad to see the back of the junk.
why pay so much for the steeldive? It goes for 50 euros during the sale at least here in greece. I got it over a year ago for 75 euros and i like it a lot.
True, i got mine for 50usd too, which was way cheaper than what i paid for my duro (70usd). The steeldive is the best bang for buck and exceeds the duro in terms of quality. I would still say its good at 100usd as its better specced than the duro
Basically, I see no any reason to buy a quartz watch from Invicta, all the models are in the shadow of the competitiors. It makes some not very reasonable sense only if you are a big big big fan of the yellow boxes. And about prices, I took this "willard" from Ali for $74 with all taxes. And this, 29177, model of Invicta from Amazon with all the taxes takes $136. Price difference is almost 2 times. Really, THERE IS NO ANY REASON to buy Invicta. But Casio Duro is really an original and competitive model in a 35-50$ range.
Sounds to me he still loves his Russia. I have heard them vostok are abit sketchy. Swear by your Timex, I do. Good watchs. Overpriced at times but they have many sales, more soon as usual. My Invicta submariner runs fast. I need advise on use of time Grapher and regulation it myself with failing eyesight and no money to play with anymore. This for any help
Great review as always, I have the SD Willard, the Duro, and the 1953 Invicta. They're all special in their own way!

Thanks. The duro seems interesting. ? Quartz?

Thank you for doing this comparison. As a budget watch enthusiast this was a pleasure to watch. Excellent production.
Casio for me.
Great review I have all three and love them all...with reservations.

I have the larger Duro (fish) and an Invicta Grand Diver. Love them both. Was thinking about a Citizen Eco-Drive diver.
I've had a Casio for over two years and it has held up very well. I have a Steeldive Willard arriving in two weeks and am looking very forward to it. I paid $44 for the Duro and $54 for the Willard.

Hey I’ve got all three of these (1970 otw)
my 1970 makes +1s pro day on table. on wrist making walk with dog(moving my hands, vibrations ..) it gains +6s pro hour. is that normal ?
Just sold mine on after a week of ownership, man that NH movement is all over the place - 10 seconds during the night in just over 8 hours. Glad to see the back of the junk.
Just got the SD1970 for $51 on aliexpress.......crossing my fingers it is a reliable one! lol
Hey, I just got the watch as well. If it's not reliable, don't worry. You can regulate the nh35 fairly easily
why pay so much for the steeldive? It goes for 50 euros during the sale at least here in greece. I got it over a year ago for 75 euros and i like it a lot.
55 euros for my steel 1953...

👍
Casio looks least like the Rolex, the other 2 you cannot tell from a Rolex from 5 feet away

I would've enjoyed the video even more without the irritating music😩🙉which spoils the overall quality:(
I love my SD 1953: th-cam.com/video/pWbYXzA-b4U/w-d-xo.html
Parnis is junk, vostoks are worth the old price 60 dollars, steeldive I think their price are going to climb
Vostoks are just ugly in my opinion.
I have all 3 LMAO 🤣!! Great job! VOSTOK IS OVERRATED!!
