I live in Ireland. I have same one now for over two years bought from Steeldive UK before the Brexit tax and am very satisfied with it. It did run up to two minutes slow every 24 hours but I opened it and gave the time adjustment a small nudge, on the protruding brass stud, anti clockwise and voila spot on now.

I’ve had the same watch for over 12 months now, purchased from an Aussie retailer and have had no issues …touch wood, and it has better QC than some of my genuine Seikos’.
I wear it on a ribbed nato and love the look and feel.
On the other hand, I recently purchased a big name brand from an Aussie AD which I hadn’t even removed the tags and stickers from before putting it back in the box and contacting customer service to arrange a return under warranty.
It definitely takes the shine off a new purchase.
    Enjoy your content 👍🏼

Well Steeldive use a Seiko movement in this so should be similar quality unless badly mounted. To be fair the repair man he paid should have been moore transparent about what the issue with the watch was. Could have been something really tiny but was well compensated for.

I bought the same Steeldive two weeks ago.Prompt delivery and so far the watch is very accurate Amazon in the UK charged me £124.The Seiko Willard is currently £1.250 and the price is going up,they are popular no doubt.1250 is cheaper than the 1000m Seiko Marine Master, some are costing up to £6.000.

The SD1970 is a nice looking watch. I guess the saying is 'You get what you pay for.' This watch is made in China and the price is around 70.00-110.00.

A watch demagnetizer is an inexpensive tool I recommend any watch collector should own.

Most of them have new a Streeldive have Seiko NH35 movements. Yes any cell phone near a automatic watch can magnetize it. If you collect watches you should have a demagnitizer about $20.00

I got 2 of them by accident. One would loose 10-30 minutes a day and sometimes hours. The other was and is fine. But I traveled overseas to a 3rd World country and a watchmaker charged me $15 to clean and reassemble the movement, after which tge watch greatly improved... but is still quarky. The other one is fine though.

The Nd magnets would def be strong enough to "stuff up a watch like this" Many modern mobiles are killers of many things, not just electronics/cards etc. So what did the guy at the junction do to fix it up?

I had a similar problem with my Willard homage from San Martin.
They sent me a new movement. I wanted it like that because I didn't want to send it back to China.
