Love that noise...the sound of the trip to Nanna's house each week 🍻

I remember driving that bus soo well
That model Leopard fleet numbers run from 168(which was painted in very smart Air New Zealand colours), through to 179,
177 and 179 just seemed to pull harder on the hills especially with a full standing load.
I drove for the DCT from 1979 to 1985 when the main depot building was actually on Manor Place.
Great content and please keep the videos coming.

Hi Nick, nice to hear from you again , I would say that would have been a great era to be driving buses in Dunedin, I used to love taking these leopards to school. Current Go Bud yard still backs on to Manor Place but maybe not much longer Go Bus is a private operator contracting to Otago Regional Council which now operates urban services.

Is it easier driving through suburban areas with a semi, full manual, or auto bus?

Hi Joshua, thanks for watching, a good automatic is less labour intensive, but the pneumocyclic semi automatics a more fun . Full manual less suitable for urban driving.

Needs a few more top gears.

Amen to that 🤣, Originally a city urban bus in hilly Dunedin so has the low speed diff. But yes an extra gear at the top would be good 👍🏻
