Does your company still have any old Volvo B10Ms as that’s what I worked on in my day & they were brilliant to work on when I worked on the buses 🚍 & coaches mate. 👍
Gidday Ross , not a hundred percent shore, but I don’t think so. I started my driving career in the B10m s with the splitter boxes and absolutely loved them though . Handled beautifully the mid mounts
Awesome video! This kind of looks like one of those Volvo transmissions that can be used as a pre-selector where you simply slot it into its gate, then depress the clutch. After a short delay, the shifter makes a click and moves further into the gate to let you know it's in gear. I'll include a link to a YT video of an Australian B10M with EGS. Either way, I assume the gearbox was a rival to Scania's Comfort Shift. th-cam.com/video/QvCITV0tRr4/w-d-xo.html
Hi Dylan, thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video. To answer your question, in all my years I have never driven the EGS as a pre select, and as far as I know it’s not a pre select box , I have driven the Scania box you mentioned and yes it is most definitely a pre select and they are nice too. I watched the video , so that’s interesting 🤔 but sure what to make of it to be honest . Seems the driver is also dbling the clutch which is completely unnecessary in a Volvo EGS.
That pneumatic sound that you can hear going through the gears is one of my favorite sounds ever, brings good memories. Greetings from Mexico!
EGS is the best gearbox I have ever driven. Tried the I shift too, but I prefer clutch.
They are a great box I agree have always enjoyed driving them too. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 🚌👍🏻

Can you film or gather some photos of the MCV Evolutions Mr. Bentley acquired from Nelson at their Dunedin Depot? Wonderful video, great buses.
