From memory there were quite a few imported from Hong Kong. Kiwi Bus gave them a bit of a do-over. I use to see them a lot between Tauranga-Auckland in Intercity colours.
This was an exciting video today. I would have never have thought to see you make a video driving a Ritchies bus on your channel, very cool! I've been on that doubledecker you were following during the end of the video, and it's very comfortable, but similarly to the one you're driving, has a weird layout. I find it weird that passengers only enter through the back door as opposed to the front.
Hi Jaxon, thanks for watching. Yip there is a first time for everything 😀. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks fir the info , to be honest didn’t know a lot about this bus. The one in front you refer too in the video I drove about 20 years ago for Great Sights
New to CTB HK fleet no. 2002 🤩 It equiped Very rare ZF5HP700 that to handling with the cross-border service between HK and Guangzhou, China by CTB from 1996-2001
Hi ChanWaiNung, that’s interesting thank you , I didn’t realise it was a HK bus originally , I have another video to be published soon with one of her sister ships.
Had that bus a few times as a school bus in the Waitakere Ranger's and on school trips when it had coach seats in Auckland. Bit of a challenge navigating the rangers with that bus, hit a few trees.
I’ve rode on that bus before on a school charter. Great bus! Although I always thought it had a Voith for its transmission not ZF. It is an ex Citybus Hong Kong bus like #893, but as #2002.
Hi team, thanks for watching, to be honest I’m not sure what transmission is in this , in fact I don’t know a lot about the bud other than the fact it’s a B12. Sean you said it’s a former Hong King City bus, interesting, I didn’t actually see who did the body work on it , but it was imported as a fully built bus
There were 5 of B12s ordered by a Japanese company, but the order cancelled when they were built. So Volvo sell them to Citybus in HK with a lower price.
@@busdrivernick Thanks for your sharing about the ex-Citybus B12 and glad to see them they are still in service, the buses were equipped Fainsa seats for running Hong Kong-Guangzhou cross border service but it seems the buses has been changed will standard seats in New Zealand long time ago.
Glad to see this generous machine still running good!

Hi Josh , thanks for watching, yes it’s a fairly high vehicle.

Classic ZF change into 4th, sounds like it could be an Ecomat.
