The novelty lies in the fact that through the joint efforts of Japanese automakers, a solution can be found to preserve classic internal combustion engines, but at the same time make them more environmentally friendly.     Mazda is known for its rotary engines, which differ from traditional piston internal combustion engines due to their more compact size, potentially smoother running and high power from a smaller displacement. However, they also have disadvantages, such as difficulties with sealing the combustion chambers and increased fuel consumption. But who stopped?
    One of the electrified rotary engines presented by Mazda, according to experts, is perfect for use in a hybrid powertrain, which in turn will be used in the new Mazda RX-9. This could be a landmark event for fans of this car, who have long been waiting for the return of the RX line. The hybrid powertrain will solve the problem of rotary engine fuel consumption and reduce harmful emissions, while maintaining the legendary dynamics of the RX rotary sports cars.
    The company even revealed some of the characteristics of the future new product and they are intriguing.
    Mazda plans to use a more powerful twin-rotor engine in the RX9. Just such an engine was shown by the company at the presentation.
    The engine itself is located in the front of the car, and all the power is transmitted to the rear axle, although Mazda will not rule out the appearance of an all-wheel drive modification. The twin-rotor engine will provide the car with higher power, and its location will allow for a lower center of gravity, which will have a positive effect on handling.
    What is the power of such a power unit? This is where the real intrigue lies.
    Through unofficial channels, the company released information that the recently presented Mazda Iconic SP concept car will become the basis for the new RX-9. The most interesting thing is that the concept uses the same two-section rotary gasoline engine, its peculiarity is that it is capable of running on an alternative fuel such as hydrogen. So, the power of such a power plant is 370 horsepower, and a source inside the company hints that the RX-9 will receive the same power plant but with some changes.
