    I love the second option i've been using that this season and have had great success the ball gets great spin and height and helps getting over bunkers and other hazards love the videos

    What type of clubs are you using for these types of shots? Lob wedge or sand wedge? Neither?

    Should I be using my higher bounce wedge for either (or both) of these chipping techniques?

    Most of the courses I play on in here in Texas do not have much greenside rough. Played a 2-day tournament this weekend on a course that does. First day I had no clue and had zero up-and-downs. Watched this video after first round, practiced a bit the next morning and had 4 second round. Great tip!

    I have a 12 iron. Does that negate the need to play it like option 2 because of the high amount of loft anyway? I sometimes use it in a bunker...

    awesome video..when should I use this shot?... everytime im in the rough about 5-10 yards from green?.. or can I use this shot if im like 20 yards from green o maybe get over a bunker?

    • @meandmygolf.
      @meandmygolf.  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justin Sproule Whenever the lie is bad but it all depends on how much green you have to work with. otherwise you can use it anywhere you like.

    thank you for the video and great technique. this looks to be more of a pitch shot but I would like to know how to chip from a bad lie when you have a pin no more than 10ft away. tough shot for me. i either Duff it or hit it way too far.

      By the way thank you for all of the insight and tips and helping me take charge of my game. I'm pretty new and with your video's alone and no real life instruction in a year I've gone from shooting in the 110's sometimes 120's to under 100. Best so far is an 87. With work and practise and assistance from excellent instructors such as you two I'm hoping one day to make par.

    • @meandmygolf.
      @meandmygolf.  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve Meed Thanks Steve. Down hill lie is all about weight on the lead leg and to allow a steeper swing dwon the slop. Move the ball back in the stance also to help contact.

  • @wx811
    @wx811 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    If I need a low running shot out of rough, I play it middle of stance, and play it like a normal shot. The simple fact that the ball is in rough will make it run. If it's sitting down, I'll take a bit longer swing. Needs a wrist hinge.
    Higher stopping shot is difficult from sitting down lie, so I'll normally not even attempt it. Get it on the green first, take bogey. Of course I could try the "bunker shot" idea, but I'd need to practice it.
    Cool video. I like the high stopping shot, but if you leave yourself with a lot of these shots on the course, your course management needs work.
    Good stuff.

    Can't seem to make good contact with the open face shot. Frequently thin over the green or fat behind the ball.

  • @petembb
    @petembb 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Guys,
    Great video. How does the cock and pop method differ from the hinge and holde that Phil uses. Also is there an advantage over the method where u make a static setup with shaft lean, and use the upperbody with a fixed triangle between the arms while u rotate only the upperbody, that Peter finch has done a video on resently.
    Regards Peter.

  • @specialvon2202
    @specialvon2202 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    The biggest mistake I see with people chipping out of the rough, especially when they don’t have a lot of green to work with is they always think the ball is going to react the same way as it would on a normal lie and they always reduce loft and the shot goes way too far
