    For those of you wondering about an adult sized blanket. I had my fiancé help me with the math.
    You’ll need 63 squares.
    15 going down, 12 across

    • @leeannmorrison6607
      @leeannmorrison6607 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What were the dimensions of the finished afghan using 63 squares?

      If you are doing 12 squares across and 15 squares down wouldn’t you need 180 squares total?

      Would adding extra squares affect assembling the blanket at the end? Or can the instructions just be extended to include more squares? Thx!

      My squares are 5” unblocked. And they seem thicker than yours. I used the same brand as you. Is that still ok for a baby blanket? How do I fix that for the next one?

    DO👏🏻NOT👏🏻DO👏🏻NOT👏🏻DO👏🏻NOT chain 3 for a double crochet at the beginning of every row/round!!!!!! Not unless you want to major gap in between your stitches. instead either use a stacked double crochet stitch or a standing double crochet stitch. You can look it up here on TH-cam how to do both. Do not chain 3!!!

      For certain patterns, you have to chain up three. Unless you’re doing a video and explaining this, you should not have left this comment because you can confuse people when it comes to doing something like a pedal stitch. Which you absolutely need a chain three to get the desired height! If this was my video, I would have deleted this comment.

      for me I tie off each color it is a little more work but it make me feel better about it not coming undone. When you want to add another color join it where you tied off at, so far mine looks the same just have to crochet the squares together.

  • @terwr

    I start with chain 3 and then put 12 DC in first chain. I had a blanket with magic circle and it started to come undone because the ends were not secure enough. I use magic circle on hats and shawls but not on blankets anymore. This is especially bad when you have 48 squares

    I just bought this pattern to make for a gift for a friend's family member. Only problem is no one realized it's for a baby blanket size. Would you by chance be able to tell me how many squares you recommend making for a throw size? 48 x 60 maybe. I'm perfect following the pattern and video. It would just help me out a bunch if I knew the total amount squares I needed. Thanks.

      Hi Rebecca Im not sure I haven't made a bigger one yet. I would make one square, measure it, then add up how many you'd need to get your desired length. Joining will add a little length too.

    When I get to the base color (green) there are visible holes from the chain 1 after the 3 hdc/dc. Is there anyway to fix this? This made my square bigger also. Unblocked it is about 5 inches by 5 inches. Besides that issue, this is a wonderful pattern.
    Edit:
    There was nothing wrong with the pattern, I was just not holding the yarn tight enough.

    You don't say where to do the extra stitch on the second row, please help! Is it on the single crochet row, or the joining row?

    • @ClaireDrakeley-m3m
      @ClaireDrakeley-m3m 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The very first stitch after where you left it - is this an extra stitch in the corner? If so, how do you do a joining row onto an extra stitch? And then when you get down that row, how do you join in a 4 corner? I wish you'd shown joining one more square, I'm SO stuck!! :(

    Feeling a little frustrated…I’m at the part after 41:40 and I feel like you missed teaching/explaining a step. Not sure how to connect the corners (the 8th square being attached) 😥😓

    • @ACraftyConcept
      @ACraftyConcept  ปีที่แล้ว

      The corner stitches belong withe the sides its touching

    • @adriennewells8134
      @adriennewells8134 ปีที่แล้ว

      But does it change the stitch count? If each side has 21 but the you have the “turning” stitch that would change your count?

    • @kawaiigurl3
      @kawaiigurl3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is going to sound messy but bear with me… I connected the CH21 of the 8th square to the CH21 on the 4th square (top row). Then SH into the CH20 of the 4th square, added another CH on the other side of the JAGZ stitch. So it’s similar to how you add the two extra stitches when doing the long CH stitch along the bottom of the squares. I found that doing this made the edge straight.

    So it’s 3 dc and a chain 1 around and 3 dc 2c 3dc in the corner?

    Hi, I love this blanket pattern. Thank you so much for the wonderfully clear instructions! I do have one question. Why do you not count the first C3 of the gold center as a stitch? I keep getting this weird chain sort of floating on the back of the flower center.

  • @mariat6717
    @mariat6717 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, beginner here. I realized that when crocheting the center of the flower, DCing 12 stitches + closing the magic circle leaves 13 spaces for petals. Am I doing something wrong?

    • @laurahelms6194
      @laurahelms6194 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m having that same issue! I ended up just counting the chain as a DC because if I skipped over to join at the top of the first DC, I had a big loop of the chain on the back. I’m imagining that technique is to make the center look uniform, but I’m fine with how it looks without doing it 😅

    • @ACraftyConcept

      Yeah mine did that too, thats why I blocked them :) Don't sew in your tails too tightly or they'll get a little distorted.

      As I'm crocheting these granny squares, I knew that it would be bumpy. I would suggest that instead of 1/2 dc, I would do all dc all around. My friend saw this blanket and asked me if I could make one for her. It's a beautiful pattern. Thank you for showing me this different way of joining, love it!!!

  • @Iriestar68

    You’re showing two skeins of mustard for the center of the flower and one skein for the petals…. Is that correct? It would seem that you would need 2 for the petals and one for the center.

    • @ACraftyConcept
      @ACraftyConcept  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh sorry those must be flipped. One should be plenty for the centers and 2 for the petals.

      Im not sure. I have only made them like this. You may have to use a different joining method if you use more than one color for the squares.
