I was in high school when the Ugly Organ came out. That album stands the test of time.
Can you believe how privileged we were, in that respect?
@@dsxa918 Guy, we grew up at a time when underground music had reached a special point because affordable production was exploding. It wasn't easy to make high quality before then.
I love The Ugly Organ, but Domestica is the masterpiece for me. Along with Burst & Bloom EP.
same it was a golden era and I was a dumb high schooler not realizing what was happening between bands like cursive, the good life, bright eyes, death cab, modest mouse, the faint, rilo kiley, stuff in the hardcore scene pg99, converge, majority rule hip hop atmosphere, el p, eyedea and abilities, typical cats
I just got out of highschool, and that album is something I just heard recently and it is such a perfect album. It doesn't sound old.
They still got it.
And they got a cello player again! I think they went without for many years

They don't. One of my favorite first three albums by any band ever but he doesn't even sound like the same person at all anymore.

Man I'm so grateful to hate 5 six it would've been impossible for me to find these bands living where I live. I would never even hear about them and because of his efforts I get to enjoy such masterpieces. Thank you kind sir

I highly recommend you listen to Cursive's Ugly Organ and Domestica albums. Also any album by BRight Eyes. And: You Forgot It In People & self titled by Broken Social

@@drownthepoor You Forgot It In People is one of those albums I would give an honest to god 10 out of 10. It's a masterpiece. I can still remember the entire thing on drums lol
I worshipped this band as a teenager and I still have them in rotation at 36. I still think Domestica is one of the greatest albums written and Ugly Organ is up there too. Their drummer Clint is a sleeper drum god.
The entire concept of the ugly organ negatively shaped my life as a 14 year old.
Best album of all time.

Tim’s voice sounds more normal than in years. Sounds less forced. I can’t imagine singing as much as he does.

I saw them in Orlando for the Thursday show. I had only heard a few songs by them. I definitely left the show a fan. I love their energy. The cellist was a trip to watch.

Like most every comment on here I am a huge fan- the Ugly Organ lives rent free in my head at all times. I can’t explain how much I relate to every lyric and attitude and metaphor of that album. But it sounds like I don’t have to explain because everyone here gets it too. Thanks for posting the vid and thanks to Cursive for being amazing.

Tim met me before a show in 2022 in orlando to help me propose he was amazing about the whole thing setting a place to meet me before in disney springs and of course I couldnt find him so went back and forth in texts for 30 mins trying to meet up all so I can ask amazing woman to marry me
