Man what a looooong day and a just a ton of work! Some very beautiful spots through that slog. Those waterfalls are so impressive and hardly ever touched by anyone. Thank God you found a camp after all that! Cheers David! 🍻🛶
Long day for sure, but totally worth it. I just wished we had more time at the falls. Too bad we had to rush through them. And yes, totally grateful that we found a campsite! Thanks buddy!
You are all made of much stronger and more patient stuff than we are! Watching you hike with canoes makes me think about a nice paddle on a beautiful rocky, pine clad lake, staying dry, camping early and enjoying a drink by a cracking campfire and cooking up a gourmet supper. lol
Gorgeous river.......at least you don't have to deal with too many bugs! Like how Phat dog is just chilling out waiting to get to the destination. Just like an Egyptian pharaoh having his throne carried his his slaves. LOL.
I thought so too re river. 😂 I love that you called him Phat Dog!!! That's perfect!!! I think he soon realized the gravity of the trip and decided staying in the canoe was to his best interest!
People don't seem to get it... I run ultras, you don't do it because its easy - you do it because its hard! And it will mean something to you in the end... this trip is the essence of ultras - keep exploring those boundaries! ❤
Totally. I enjoy the challenge as well as exploring areas most people wouldn't dare travel. So there are other reasons as well, but I absolutely love the pushing the limits of where canoes can take me. 👊 Thanks bro!
Just grueling! haha! When Heather gave the finger to the Dog Fish River, I think I heard Fat Dog say he agreed! lol Looking forward to Part 3 although not the end. :) :( Thanks for sharing. :)
Yup, there are definitely risks for sure. You know Tom, despite the challenges, everyone on that trip are actually looking forward to another one! We already have another river in mind but it's just a matter of getting the team together. 😬😀
It’s more like a creek that a river in a lot of places. It’s not easy going for sure. We did trips like that when we were teenagers and fishing every hole. We caught 5&6 lb specks.
True, but I love it! Yeah, you definitely need the right mindset and body to do those kind of trips. Wow, you did well with the fishing! Amazing. Where abouts was this?
@@ThePursuitofPassion These canoe trips were mostly rivers that ran into Lake Superior for large speckled trout. And Coasters . And big Lake Trout out on the Lake itself. And the fishing is still great on Superior. 🇨🇦👍
Gosh you love these punishing paddles. These creeks are amazing sights but they are tough to paddle. I wonder if inflatable kayaks would work better than canoes
The challenges are great, but I love the exploration even more. It was totally worth visiting. 😊 Things like pakrafts and inflatable kayaks would work too, but you would have to limit the weight and be more mindful of punctures from abrasion and sharp rocks.
@@ThePursuitofPassion It’s still not even close to what you and Shawn (Sean?) went through though. THAT was the slog to end all slogs! 😆 I’m still really impressed that you two kept going forward. I’d have surrendered early on.
😄 Yeah that one was brutal. Like we were carving through a tunnel. So many verions of his name. It is Shaun. Great guy and indomitable spirit! Thanks Alan!
I'd have to agree with the not being worth it comment. Not much of a canoe trip when you have to drag them the whole way, those poor boats. Might want to trade in the paddles for hiking boots for a trip like this.
Sure, you're entitled to your opinions and feelings. But personally, these are trips and adventures I love. Seeking unknown and rarely traveled waterways that are hidden gems. I've done many canoe trips that follow prescribed routes that everyone does. But that's not my interest anymore, so I seek the "...paths less traveled.' Thanks for checking it out.
@Lipstick Lodge I can see that. It's not something most people would do, but I love the adventure and exploring unknown waterways. Personally, I would do that again in a heartbeat. Thanks for watching!
You are the rare canoeist to see that breathtakingly beautiful scenery. Love the dog!
You bet, and it was gorgeous in there! Love it there. Fat Dog had an eye opener!!! 😄
Hey look a workout video with a view!!!
😂 Too funny! A great view at that!

It does certainly take a bit of resolve and positivity. 😄 Trust me, I'm sure some in the group were thinking the same thing!
I always really enjoy watching your trips with Heather- you have a good rapport and she holds nothing back. Also, some great scenery in this one!
Thanks a lot! Yeah, we've had some pretty epic trips together, and yes, she doesn't hold back for sure. 😆
Looks like a blast. We need more of this Dave guy!
It definitely was a lot of fun! Lol, as long as he joins, he will certainly be in more videos. (One coming up later in the season with him.)
That looked like a lot of work. Thanks for sharing
It certainly was, but it gets better! A gorgeous river I would visit again in a heartbeat.

Anytime buddy!
That was a long day, I'm glad you guys found a camp just in time 👍
Yeah it certainly was. It was perfect timing and a great find too!
Another great looking trip and video ! Thanks
Thanks my friend! Appreciate you checking it out.

😆 That was funny. Didn't expect that, but was some raw emotions there. Good thing Fat Dog can't speak! 😉 Thanks Jacqueline, see you next week!
It’s a good job nobody got hurt. I’ll bet some of those folks won’t do that trip again. A couple were not that young. Anyway good video. Thanks 🇨🇦👍

Enjoyed your videos...hard work, but so satisfying.
Thanks so much Kathie! Appreciate you checking it out. 😊
I can certainly see why it was obscure and probably should remain so.
😄 I hear ya, but it was so beautiful. I wouldn't think twice about going again!
I might have to quit watching its exhausting and makes my body ache.. watching your struggles. Lol 4 🍪🍪🍪🍪 tough cookies 👍
😆 Too funny Jeff! Despite the challenges, we loved it. And the river is so beautiful. Thanks a lot!

That was a lot of work!! Maybe consider tubing instead? 🤣
Until next week✌️
😝 re tubing! Probably a better idea! Thanks Marc!

If someone gets hurt I hope u have a way of contacting ems..stuff happens on these trips..
Yup, we do! We have a SPOTX so we can communicate with others if there is an emergency but surprisingly, there are cottages and roads nearby too.
Heather is strong!
😄 You bet!
Maybe paddleboards would have been easier then canoes!man, what a workout
😄 Hmmm, not sure about that. I think the canoes did fine! 😉
So you took canoes on a hiking trip? 🤷♂️
😆 You said it!!! 🙌

That does not look like it's worth all that..
Might not be to some but how would you know unless you’ve tried it?
So worth it. I was there lol

I would fall and break a bone...
