- In Manila, Philippines, I tour the historic Spanish district Intramuros and Rizal Park. Then have lunch with my tour guide "Paquito" at a market near Binondo, Chinatown. He invites me to meet his family and visit his home in Tondo, the largest slum in Manila.

I watched this again. Let me tell you about my experience with taxi drivers in the Philippines. I was there for 21 days last September. I ended up helping 3 of them with a variety of problems. I helped pay for the hospital maternity C-section bill of one guy’s wife, contributed to purchase of a computer for a student, paid for the third guy’s groceries. I didn’t mind paying for the gas and tolls. They are really struggling there. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Sounds like they took advantage of your heartfelt kindness and generosity.😮

Congrats Paquito, for your good & nice treatment in our guest.. may God bless you more. And thanks to bare foot blogger for the opportunity you gave to Paquito. God bless you too.
Paquito turned out to be a very honest man. In the beginning he was just trying to make a living and was charging the tourist quite a bit. It turns out he would make a lifelong friend. You can tell from Barefoot's face in the end that it was such an eye-opener for him. Hope he remembers that despite the poverty, he's seen them all smile at him and welcomed him to their reality.
Around Intramuros people are charging &50 to $100 and most of them are not honest. $25.00 was I think a reasonable price.

"I am proud of you, Mr. Barefoot Vlogger, because I saw the true person in you. I saw your love for people, and you did not mock the slum areas. Instead, you admired the perseverance of Filipinos who are victims of those who steal from the Philippines.
Thank you so much, and I hope that Paquito's life will improve. He is intelligent, speaks English, and is knowledgeable about Philippine history. He deserves to be a tour guide."

So heartwarming vlog, what a should be historical tour turns to be a reality check on the lives & real situation that our less fortunate locals are facing each day. Although they are in that state, the smiles you see on their faces are honestly genuine, it's the Filipino instinct & ability in finding & having that happiness within themselves & the community they're in no matter what the trials & tribulations present. Thank you for your authentic kindness for Paquito & his family. May your tribe increase a million folds.

Your kind words leave me speechless brother. Thank you🙏
Very rewarding video Barefoot! Paquito had more knowledge about the Philippines' history as he toured you around Luneta (Rizal Park), Intramuros & all the surrounding areas. I'm so happy that you found the perfect tour guide. Very deserving. He's a hard worker trying to make ends meet for his 3yo son Joshua. He was very proud that you wanted to meet his family. I know it came as a shock for you to experience a glimpse of how others live in that kind of condition. This was far more personal for you to witness the day to day life in the slums of Tondo. They all get by and deal with it and still have a pleasant smile seeing an American tourist. May Paquito and his family be blessed & be able to do some little repairs to their roof to keep them safe especially during the rainy season. Maraming salami po for sharing this touching video. 😇😊😇
The amazing part is Paquito learned the history on his own, unable to complete schooling to support his family. He has my respect and admiration
