- Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for watching todays video. This is my rather chaotic week in sewing! I am making a Zimmermann inspired dress using the Simplicity S9326 sewing pattern.

"I didn't try it on because I wasn't wearing a bra and I couldn't be bothered putting one on" is pretty much the story of at least 50% of my sewing life 😂
Why does it feel like so much effort though?! 😂
It's so pretty!
Have you seen the invisible zip method by Kenneth D King on the Threads channel? It involves basting together the seam where the zip will be installed, then pinning the zip in place. Eventually you use a hemostat (I just use my overlocker tweezers) to yoink the zipper pull to the other side and somehow it works. Not a clear explanation because I can barely get my tiny mind around it, but it's the only way I can ever get the seams to match at the waistline. Your mum might even approve 😄
That sounds super interesting! I'll definitely check it out, I'm still not a pro at my zips and would love to be. It Mum might approve it must be good!! Thank you so much ❤️
Oh my goodness, what a beautiful dress! Well done! The fabric is just perfect.
I'm amazed at what you are able to accomplish with 3 young children. You are a busy lady and you inspire me. 😊
So beautiful…you did a cranking job on it…..and meltdown…..we all have them from time to time😊
Such a beautiful dress...you did well with the fit, its so hard to fit yourself...I think the sweetheart neckline suits you better...brilliant
Beautiful
The dress is so pretty! I’m definitely checking out that pattern and giving it a go for springtime. That fabric is so perfect!
Beautiful dress and the fabric is ❤!
Thank you 🥰🥰
It's gorgeous! 😍 Such pretty fabric 👌 and I actually think the sweetheart neckline looks better than the pattern! Really stunning.
Glad I'm not the only one who has meltdowns when I work so hard on a piece and it doesn't fit like I wanted. Literally want to roll on the floor kicking and screaming like my toddler. 😂😂😭😭😂😂
I like the neckline you made rather than the square neckline. It’s a beautiful dress. Love the fabric. Great job.
I actually prefer it too 😆 funny how our mistakes sometimes turn out for the best!! Thank you so much 🥰
It’s gorgeous and looks stunning on you. Felt so sorry for you when your tea fell over, but you triumphed on. Well done on recreating your inspiration, it’s been a great success 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much!! Honestly I've never had that happen before and was ready to give it for the day at first 😂
I mean...... Gorgeous!!!!!😍😍
Love the fabric, you did an amazing job!!!🩷I'm also a chaotic sewist and to date have not been brave enough to do a sew-along. 😁But you inspire me!
I love the dress on you. It looks beautiful🤩
Your dress turned out beautifully! I have this pattern but haven’t made it yet. I’ll probably save it for next summer but I do love the way your dress turned out. Lovely fabric! 👗🪡🧵🥰
looks beautiful 😍
Talk about a prewash hahaha
Thank you for sharing your entire journey!
I tend to beat myself up when I make simple little mistakes in the process like accidentally putting all of the bodice together, so it's comforting to know we all do! (even if i knew it, but it's good to see proof haha)
Thanks for this 😊. Here in Germany I am subscribed at Simplicity magazine and there is this pattern among others. I wanted to sew it but I am a beginner, so now when I saw it from you, maaaaybe I dare to do it 😁
Do you mind sharing your measuremnts at the time you made this dress. I am in the process of makign it and we are similar in size and shape. I am planning to add sleeves. Wish me luck! I'm really loving your channel.
Love the dress it is beautiful. However did you ever finish your blue coat as I am waiting to see what you got on with the pattern before I get it ago maybe x
What is the pink shirred dress you are wearing please....its beautiful
I also had an issue with the front gapping.
How did you solve for that. I am hesitating to completely taking the bodice apart. I also did a sample to check fit before cutting the size I sewed. Any thoughts on fixing without dismantling the whole thing.
