Got to try this out at PAX Unplugged last week. Don't know if it was just an early production copy or what but the board itself was HUGE! Way too huge for the relatively low complexity of the game. I agree that it is basically just Tokaido with a switched mechanic or two, but the amount of white space, and thus the board, could've been shrunk by about 16 square inches.
First video I've seen with Bryan and I have to say, I'm a pretty big fan of his presentation style. As for re-implementations.. Wise Guys as a re-implementation of Sons of Anarchy: Men of Mayhem.. I do prefer the SOA version personally, however I think that if Wise Guys had better (or at least comparable in quality) components, it'd be the one to play with most folks, as a LOT of people (including myself) never even looked at the SOA game due to its theme and a 1920s prohibition theme is a little more open to more people.
I have only played Tokaido on the app. The sound effects and animations are cute and I don’t have a desire to play the physical copy. I’ll wait for the Namiji app :)
Century: Golem Edition is such a beautiful reskinning of a fantastic series of introductory titles!

So our boats are moving clockwise around the board while the whirlpool in the middle is going counter-clockwise? We can’t be havin’ that!
It’s an equatorial conundrum now lol!
"Tokaido with some interesting twists" sounds absolutely like my jam
I was going to say Unmatched, but then I saw James Maddox's comment and now I'm not sure which of the two I like more.
7 wonders duel best re-implementation
This is very very true.
They feel like different games, just that they share some scoring

Honestly not super interested in the game but this is my first video with Brian and as a Florida boy I love this guy lol
This is probably just me, but I like Lost Cities: the Board Game more than the original card game.
My little scythe!
I almost backed this on kickstarter but it was too similar to Tokiado.
Stopped watching at 1:09. I reached my limit of "let me know in the comments below".
And yet ironically here you are 😂
