    I know this format of super long and niche history videos isn’t exactly the meta on TH-cam, but still I’m genuinely shocked that this channel only has 4k subscribers with this level of production quality and research.

    I love how Livy invented alternative history by saying that Rome would definitely defeat Alexander the Great of Macedon while it was struggling against Italians. Love this channel too, this area of history is underrated especially the Etruscans

    This dude just woke up and said, 'Today, I'm gonna give people some history.' And did a dang good job of it. Can't find a problem with that..

    What Rome did at the Liris with the Samnites was exactly the same that Rome would do at the Iberus with the Carthaginians. In every single case, the local allied cities were expendable pawns.

    Suggestion- make 11 min videos as a super cut of the large videos. It'll be fast paced which is what MOST people watch. Make shorts too when you grow big (you will).
    Shorter videos will get more traction for the general public and fans will wanna watch longer videos.

      Boooo. Niche is better. Niche is what keeps TH-cam amazing. Every great channel about Rome is niche and takes their audience as it naturally comes to them without pandering.

    • @kaytieanddreambreen4554
      @kaytieanddreambreen4554 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@geordiejones5618 oh I don't disagree. I love niche. I'd rather there be entire videos on a single found manuscript and how it relates to our understanding of the entire history lore. But also gotta understand that getting views is imp to the motivation and ability to keep making niche videos

    This is an amazing video and I disagree with another commenter on saying, “This channel needs a name change to grow big” it gives the channel some personality I believe! Theres a lot of other channels that do some slideshows that just kind of blend together to me with similar names. Keep up the great work please!

    As I know, the city of Beneventum was named in the beginning Maleventum, and only after Rome's victory against Pyrrhus II or Epirus, they changed its name to Beneventum.

    I feel that the length & content of the video could be a lot shorter/simplified if you post the information you find is most accurate instead of referencing multiple sources & comparing which one is most likely to be the real events. That should be up to the individual to figure out if they were more interested. I find myself getting lost many times from the departure of the subject so it seems better to just skip these recaps.

      Do not trust any historian that can confidently tell you how something exactly happened. If a historian dealing with this era doesn't constantly remind you how it all is mostly conjecture and speculation, then he is certainly lying, as we don't have enough written accurate records about these things.

    Anytime before world war I, and even that is generous, there was no real argument against genocide, at least moral. So all things considering this was just soldiers going berserk and taking what they want. More so lack of order than deliberate.
