How difficult it is to control these historical instruments perfectly! But amazingly they all managed to do it.
Mais uma vez Avrotros nos brinda com mais uma joia rara da transição renascença/barroco, e assim vamos conhecendo autores e obras desse magnífico e profícuo período.
This would be perfect in the tradition Mass with the musicians in the church choir loft. The narration reminds me of the time I went to a restaurant and a man at another table coughed a choked. I went over to rescue him as I though he was choking. Sadly I got it wrong... he was speaking Dutch.
Doron Sherwin rocks!
that was a duet with Maria C. Kiehr and David Munderloh, NOT Jan Van Elsacker! :-)
Ads in the middle of the piece are gross exaggeration.
It’s a good attempt at bringing the composition back to our attention - allowing for one major discrepancy- the pitch chosen is too low and the singers therefore struggle with the tessitura. In doing so, it actually makes a mockery of the work and the singers can be seen to be dally struggling to pitch and place their lowest notes.
It is an historical fact that transpositions took place during a number of centuries. Now we know why.
I had to stop watching / listening as the results are ludicrous. This is the first time I put a hold on a period, historically informed performance. Each to their own, of course.
but.... the string player do they play fiddle or dance..or both..? at any rate is very unahestetic
