The more I listen to this beautiful music the more I love ❤️ it,especially the Cornett’s ; it’s lovely to hear these instruments . The Monteverdi influence makes it soul soothing.

As its said: if you want to succeed go abroad.. I guess Bertali proved it, and what is more his life was timed to be in relatively peaceful period and place: He saw the end of the 30 year war though as a young boy he might have heard of its start if it ever was "announced"; might have heard of the building of the Versailles palace under Luis XIV ; and perhaps unknown to him logarithms were invented by John Napier. And most importantly he completely missed the very scary time of the first Turkish (islamic) invasion of Europe and Vienna itself; nor its unlikely he ever heard of the great plague and fire of London. Very lucky fellow indeed! Awesome music piece, Thank you for uploading.

Typical Italian mid-17th century music for voices and instruments. Not for everyone, but definitely for the connoisseurs.

Hat Ignaz Biber diese Messe gekannt? Einige Passagen könnten die Missa Salisburgensis inspiriert haben?

    Dear Pau NG,
    Thanks for your prevoius reply.
In this mass you can hear the Amen movement starting at16:00 (before Sanctus) is almost the same as Buxtehude's Amen in Membra. Isn't it? I think Buxtehude made a better version of it just like Händel made better versions from other composer's works.

Bertali, also a virtuoso violinist known as "violino nel valoroso", probably was one the most regarded composers in Wien court and consequently his art reached the German courts easily. His immediate posthumous reputation led he was widely celebrated and later cited by several composers among them Buxtehude, mainly active in Lübeck. Even Mozart arranged Händel works. And indeed, almost the same amen! 😉

Il 50% dell'opera di Antonio Bertoli è andata perduta.

@@AloysiusEmanuel-.-si il 50% però dei soli componimenti a carattere religioso. La musica "profana" credo sia arrivata per intero.
