Darker Himalayan salt with sediment is better for you. The lighter colour pink salt, that is blatantly being advertised is more pure and therefor contains more sodium than the less refined darker/pink Himalayan salt. The reason why normal table salt is bad for you is because it is the most refined salt. You use less Himalayan salt in food because it tastes better than the overwhelming taste of table salt but if the quality of Himalayan salt is too pure (yes there is such a thing as being too perfect) it defeats the purpose.

The one to my left looked white so even though it dissolve doesn't mean it's Pink Himalayan.As white iodized salt does completely dissolve too.Pink Himalayan is pink but there shouldn't be any sediment.They do same thing with Honey ,alot not legit unless it specify certain things.Also maple syrup,you have to read lable as some have additives.

This test has nothing to do with the truth. Considering that Himalayan salt contains about 80 additional minerals, it is quite normal for them to remain on the tissue because not all of them dissolve in water at that temperature. The darker Himalayan salt that gives the water its color is of course natural because each mineral has its own natural color. You should also be careful where you buy Himalayan salt. Buying from serious companies is safer because it is not possible to sell fake or lower quality Himalayan salt without anyone checking it.
I would think the finer lighter salt would dissolve quicker and have less color. If they were the same coarseness I could understand the dissolving part.
I had a bad feeling about the Himalayan salt i bought was not genuine by the way it didn’t dissolve in the water and left a sludge at the bottom of a cup when I left it 2 or 3 days to dissolve lol

the darker has more mineral content hence longer time to dissolve
I made some pickled cucumbers 3 weeks ago. I use pink Himalayan salt and there are still sediments in the bottom that still hasn't dissolved.

I stirred 2 tsp in 20 oz water. One hour it's still cloudy pink. We've been had.

definitely the darker colored had more stuff than salt, since coloring is so often used by many companies to make the product more appealing.

Actually the absorption rate of real Himalayan salt takes longer than fake salt. A better way to tell is to look for salt that comes from Pakistan.
