Seeing one of your goofier creatures as an epic is always the best. Imagine getting your city rampaged by a giant among us crewmate, i don't need to because that exactly what happened in my game. I called ithat crewmate "the sussiest of them all"
I made the Eye of Cthulhu and then my game crashed and I didn't save during that whole playthrough, but then when I reached the tribal phase of a different save file the Eye of Cthulhu was an epic boss.
See the last ones cool, but when that one you made, who was already the maxed out and most genetically perfect killing machine at a normal size, is now the size of a building, you kinda just gotta give up and die because you can't outrun it

more parts, higher part limits, a better tribal and civ stage
I love replaying this game and i would love a new one if it were possible but then comes the fear that it wont be AS good as the original because the original is good WITH the glitches so if they make it new they might make it different

I'm conflicted. On one hand I'd love a remake or a genuine sequel. On the other hand... it's modern EA.
what we need is a spiritual successor w/o EA's involvement. Otherwise creature parts will be locked behind a lootbox system.

I might be very late to this but there is a game called Thrive being made. They have a patreon and are currently only at the cell stage www.patreon.com/thrivegame
If there would ever come a time for a remake... we have to make sure it never ends up like No Man's Sky.

Spore was my childhood, and to say how much you love these kinds of games I'm surprised ya didn't do it earlier. Also, as much as I loved the video, there's soooo much you could've talked about that ya didn't D:
Just in the main menu, you can spin the galaxy around, and if you do it really fast, you can see all of the developers heads flying out of it.
In the Cell Stage, you can get a large amount of DNA from having an omnivore sucker at the front and sucking it dry, and chomping it to pieces and eating said pieces with carnivore chompers either side of it.
There are rouges with 250 health and befriending them is quite beneficial for the Tribal stage (Though it's hard to do so).
There's also an achievement system which sometimes asks you to do insane things.
And in the Space stage, ghahh! The main aim of this stage is to earn badges to give badge points by doing different fun things around the galaxy, increasing your guy's fly range. You can see star systems in the process of forming, binary/trinary star systems, and if you make multiple 'playthroughs'(planets), you can actually visit those planets from the space stage (Though ya can't do anything to them fortunately). You can visit planets in different stages of evolution, set down a hologram of your creature as if you were in the creature stage, Epic's shoot fireballs in the Civ/Space stage, and you can go inside of wormholes to plop out in some random part of the galaxy.
There's also the Grox, terrifying part mechanial beings who hate everything on sight, and just the act of trying to befriend them's one of the toughest thing in the game. There's the center of the universe with "IM STEVE!!!" who gives you the ultimate Terraform tool, which is also a quick way to defeat the Grox.
An easy way to get through the game's by cheating, and the game'll even give you the 'Joker' badge by doing so.
*Huff* *Puff*, you also, have the 2 expansions, Creepy & Cute, and Galactic Adventures.
Not saying you don't know any of this stuff, buuuut it was missed, and some of it could make for a nice follow up video :D

Ahhhhh Spore! One of my favorite games form Childhood! Honestly the creature phase was my favorite phase as a kid! I'm getting Nostalgic just watching this video, while also seeing all the new stuff people have added to the game recently. I'm happy to see people like you still playing this! Ah yes, my favorite PC game. Thank you so much for reviewing it! Maybe you should look at Spore mods, too - I recommend Dark Injection, which adds parts from the now-defunct Darkspore and eliminates the complexity meter and part boundaries (i.e. you can make longer or larger creatures).

I can totally relate to you watching pre-release footage and being super hyped. I was the same, but a couple of years after the game came out. And then I got it, and it was my favourite game of all time for years, although I never started using other people’s creations in my games until last year.
God damn is Spore so good still, even now. It would’ve been fascinating to see some of the cut stages which didn’t work due to technical limitations return in a second Spore game someday, as I’d pay so much money to see that.
I still have this game, and it’s one of my favorites. Despite the flaws, I still absolutely love it.
