Always great to get another perspective on settings, especially from someone with such extensive experience from the audio industry (which has so many parallels with tuning FFB). Thanks for the shout out too!
@@martyjames8317 That's easy! Would be something like Interpolation at 10, natural damping at 50, LIN ON with FFB STR at 20 and whatever you could do to remove all road noise in the sim.
@@Ermz I laughed. :-) I also set my Inertia setting to zero and things picked up for me in your unfavourite sim. Only using a tad of dampening helped a lot. Good video, thanks.
Recently bought a DD2, having moved up from the CSL elite. The setting are a god send, as I was all over the place with the Fanatec recommended setting. Now have a stable (great) feel throughout these sims. Thank you!
Same here, the recommended fanatec settings for AC were not good imo. But this guide helped me loads and im really happy with the feedback given on my dd2
Thanks for this! I just got a DD1 and the depth people go to with the profiles is just too intense, for all the individual cars and things. This as a jump off point for dialing in more fine grain stuff is such a good starting point, so thank you. Also, I come from an Audio background too, so I knew you were exactly the right guy to follow for when getting advice about this particular part of simracing :D Another vote for Dirt/F12021 set up guide too please!
thank you so much for this video . a friend has a DD2 and had terrible vibration issues in AC. we tried everything and many other people settings but they didn't use CM. i sent him this video yesterday. and got a message back that the problem was fixed.
I'd love a similar video to this for some of the less simmy games I play. F1, Dirt Rally 2, ETS2/ATS and the Forza games are all games I play regularly.
finally someone who understand how to set up max rotation correctly in AC, and knows that soft lock is only responsible for making the endstops active! quality tutorial mate.
soft lock on my csl dd is good but too strong. when i gently touch max rotation it just goes BANG off the end, its wayy too stong. is there any way to soften it or a similar less aggressive setting?
Even though ams2 had some updates since you uploaded this video I feel like I’m playing a whole new game using these settings. It seems somewhere in the past I took a wrong turn while trying some settings, which resulted in a completely smoothened and understeery experience. Now I have that raw pointy feeling back again thanks to your tips 😊 (and now I actually feel curbstones again 🎉)
Thanks for the tips . I set my rig up and was a little underwhelmed with th DD1. Just adjusted as per your advice and it's amazing .. thanks so much for this
I will have to try out these settings so I can experience what you feel. I got a DD1 to really immerse myself and feel the power and fidelity of racing, and I love a good workout. I usually set in-game FFB to the max, and on the DD1 i set to between 60-80%.
Been asking for a video like this for months since getting a DD1. Very much appreciated! Fanatec recommended settings are mostly out of date by upwards of two years and some have old firmware categories no longer applicable. Playing a trial and error guessing game with each sim has been an irritation and sometimes I miss the simplicity of the entry wheels I used to own.
Very good video, usefull as a reference to make your own force feedback settings. Used them for my dd2 in ACC and only make some tweks in the force feedback strengt as i like higer values. Awesome work
I pre order my dd1 and it’s very notchy feels like little steps while turning the wheel in game or out of game. Also tried you settings and with them the force feedback is super light in ac the most I saw the force feedback bar go was 1/4 of the bar. I just increased the overall ffb to 60 and it feels good. I’m thinking of selling it as I want something that’s smoother. Can wait for simagic and moza products to mature a bit more software wise and try them out.
A tip for AC… get the ffbclip app. Has a nice graph to show you last bit of time on the ffb signal so you don’t have to stare at it on a turn. I set the app to manual mode and it will even suggest highest gain without clipping. It also has an auto mode that will constantly set it for you but I don’t recommend this mode as once you set this for a car you don’t really want it changing on you.
what fanalab and driver do you use? I'm using fanalab 1.54.4 and driver 402. I don't have Natural Friction and FFB Interpolation Filter in the wheel menu. In fanalab, those settings always default back to off. I have a DD2, and with these settings in AC, the wheel is just about ready to rip my arms off going through high downforce corners, especially at Eau Rouge. The wheel just goes absolutely crazy. Edit: Found why FFB was so strong. FFB Clip had hardware torque set to 12 and target torque set to 12. Changed that to target - 12 and hardware - 25. Not fully sure how ffb clip adjusts the FFB, but I guess with target being the same as torque, it was using all 25 nm of torque. I was about to say, I know you look strong, but I dont think you're strong enough to brush off 25 nm of torque through eau rouge strong. I knew something was up when I tried your ACC settings, and they felt almost perfect. Kicked the FFB down to 40 in the wheel, and it feels perfect. High downforce corners take a little effort but aren't too easy or too hard
Awesome work and thanks for the updated upload. I’m keen to hear your suggestions for DR2 mate… specifically as an example of a sim where one might be using a very different wheel (weight / diameter etc)
Great video! I will add all these data points to my Google Sheets (I'm a total nerd) and try out all your settings. I feel I'm good on DR2, but would love to see your take on it, especially how you might set it up for AWD, FWD and RWD cars.
@Ermin Hamidovic Force-Feedback settings for DD1 & DD2 and taking into account the csl DD....Nice one... I have the DD1 for about 3 days and already i saw at least a big flaw on the raceroom settings. For how long you have the DD1. Actually you apply two times linearity, one enabling it on driver side and second on game 100% That's why the ffb is so weak and lacking detail. Just try to disable the linearity on drivers and keep linearity in game at 100% So much better. If you want to check that what is say is correct, just turn full down also the linearity in game to see what a massive change it makes.
Thanks for making this video, was very helpful setting up my DD1 for AC. I was wondering if you could give me some examples of your car specific force feedback settings? I just want to make sure I'm in the right ballpark, as I've been using your advice of using Brands Hatch with different cars and monitoring the FFB through sidekick, but just curious where you landed at as far as car settings,
If you set your wheel to 800 and your in-game to 800 on ACC it will automatically adjust to the correct steering. From 480 all the way to the Porsche at 800.
Thanks for the in-depth info, Ermin! Curious which version of Custom Shaders Patch you're running here. I'm currently running the recommended 0.1.60, and don't have the `MacPherson Struct` or `Disable FFB during loading` settings.
I was supporting Ilya on Patreon, and got access to a few early releases. I believe it was 0.1.74 or something to that effect (I never drive in AC outside of doing videos)
Please give us settings for non sim games too! Forza Horizon is my palette cleanser game after intense ACC games. Also what wheelbase is your main now? Have you moved down to the 8Nm DD full time? I was looking for a video if you explained that, but must have missed it if you made one. Great channel!
I watched this video recommended by a friend, I have questions, now some settings have changed in the fanatec software, now they have the voice FFS peak / linear, what to use since you suggest linear, the strength of the ffb suggest 65 and to change on the fly according to the car, is it not better to adjust the pitch for each car while on the track since also acc has the possibility of having keys for the gain? There change the intensity ffb for single car without changing the one on the base. thanks for your clarifications on the matter.
@Ermz could you please also give some settings advise for the default+ Force Feedback at AMS2? This was added from the developers after you have released your Video. Big thanks
I always set my wheelbase to 100% and reduce settings ingame. For RF2 my multiplier is .020 to .040 for say the GT3 GTE. This is car dependant and not a global setting. FFB feels better this way. Why would you buy a 26nm wheel and then turn it down? You lose the wheels fidelity doing this!.
Will this information translate to dd pro owners? Also, can you do a presentation for console users who dont have access to a pc, which is like, ALL of us. Fanatec (and apparently no one else) recognizes the fact that we're playing these games on console BECAUSE we dont have a pc. Thanks!!
What about if I have a DD2; same settings? 🤔 I've tried these settings now (in: BeamNG.drive, AC, ACC, iRacing & WreckFest) and I'm not sure if it feels very good/realistic 😕
LIN switched to ON makes no sense. You are forcing the software to flatten the ffb curve through corners, making what would be a very active and informative FFB curve feel very flat and uniform. Personal preference of course but I am not sure you are giving an accurate representation of this feature... The simple answer for iracing is, use irffb.
Please let me suggest some rfactor 2 settings for you to try Wheel set - as per your video In game smoothing 0 Car specific - per car choice Min torque 0 On wheel base Sen - per car as above FFB 65 Lin off NatDamp off NatFric 6 NIN off INT 3 FEI 70 FOR 100 SPRING 100 DAMPER 60 BLI off Take the Oreca 07 out at Spa and enjoy !!!

I’m still they way today other then skipping out on titles without VR. iRacing definitely isn’t my favorite by far and I hardly every play it but at least I know what it feels like.

Your settings for ACC are way too hard and strong ruins the feeling of deformations or other tracks informations
