Gosh, I had these since 2016 and it's 2023. I wear them all day long, including to bed and in the gym. Replaced ear pads many times, but they are still intact. These headphones have been with me all over the world. Planes, trains automobiles. Camping, hiking, hostels and hotels.
They lost the ability to do quality phone calls(people can't hear me), but they still sound great for music, movies and audio books.
By contrast I purchased the Sony at the same time. The mdx or whatever. The cheap plastic cracked and broke and I ended up tossing them after a few years. I was hard on them too, and the touch pad was a problem for sleeping. Buttons all the way.
The Sony had a few tricks lacking in the Bose like a touch pad, awareness by touch and this gimmicky "custom noise cancellation procedure" it would do to supposedly adjust for wearing glasses and such. I never noticed a difference after running it.
Overall these were the best 349 dollars I've spent on a consumer product.
If you would have told me one year before I bought them that I would buy 349 dollar headphones, I would have sent you to a psychiatrist. 😂

I was actually looking for a good pair of ANC headphones to buy in 2021 and decided to go for the Bose QC 35ii , I didn't go for the NC 700 because the ANC on both were similar when I tested them and the QC 35ii were more comfortable as well and the reason I chose the QC 35ii over the XM4 was because the were just much more comfortable , aesthetically pleasing and had physical buttons

I've had my QC35s since 2017 and I still use them all day, every day. I use them for work and for leisure. Even with all-day use, I charge them every other day because the battery lasts so long. I have recently purchased the NC700 and I'm considering returning them. The sound isn't as good, the battery life is somewhat terrible and they don't always charge when I plug them in, even if the light is blinking like it's charging. I may return them and see how the QC45s operate.

I gave my old QC 35 to my son after I bought NC 700 about 2 yrs ago, but I missed QC 35 so much cuz NC700 were too big, heavy, and uncomfortable. Recently, I went to Bose website and tried to repair my son's QC 35's headband. Surprisingly, the service system suggested me to replace them with the newly QC 45 for just about $200US! I immediately ordered a new pair (black) and gave the NC 700 to my son.😅 I then ran to the shelf where I kept my broken QC 3, and repeated the same process to get a white pair♪ Now, I have 2 pairs of QC 45 (black & white) for work and home. 😅
If you love QC 35, you should be very happy with QC 45 in many ways. Sony? Apple? I just love the way QC35 and 45 feels and sounds. 😊

As someone who is purchasing their very first noise cancelling headphones specifically for long haul flying and not much else - i picked these because more often than not, a multitude of different reviews said these were more comfortable than the sony's. Also, it a was a complete toss up as far as "pressure build up" and "needing to pop ears" went so i ended up buying these for overall comfort instead. I know they have a smaller battery and will eventually die out earlier than the sony's would so i'm already researching how to replace one on my own. It's far more difficult than replacing the battery on the sony's but i know i'll get atleast a few years of use out of it before it comes to replacing the batteries. I really did want to go with the sony's but at the end, it all came down to what i'm really going to use this for - and the sony's just seemed overkill for me.

@@verynick I really wanted to love the Sennheisers, but I just had a couple of annoying issues with them. They were a bit too tight on my head and the headband got a bit annoying over time. I also couldn’t find the right spot volume-wise. It was always either too loud and it became harsh or slightly too low. But could definitely be a personal thing! ANC and sound quality was very good.

Thanks for the vid. I’ve been looking around for a decent pair of BT headphones and have done a ton of research. I’ve previously bought the AKG N700 but I don’t like what they sound like. Too bass heavy and not enough clarity. Mics suck as well and I need to be able to make calls sometimes for work as I’ll use these when I’m at a cafe coding or something.
The XM4s are too bass oriented. Everyone raves about them but I think they sound meh. The Bose 700s are no good, all they have going for them are the mics. So what do you do? I’ve considered the Shure Aonic 50s, but they’re huge and heavy. The B&W PX7s are amazing but expensive and the mics are awful.
All this lead me to these. They are undoubtedly one of the most comfortable pair of headphones ever. Important if your out and about and will be wearing them for longer periods. They have very respectable mics quality for calls. The sound is fairly balanced and warm and for easy listening not going to be fatiguing. And they’re noise canceling, but I’m not as fixated on this I have Bose in ear noise canceling headphones which I used when flying because you can sleep with those on a plane, can’t turn your head to sleep with giant cans on your head!
I just bought a pair of the second gens from Dick Smith for $249. I consider that a total steal as they’re still $379 on the Bose website.

I just bought the QC35ii headphones, since they were on sale for under $120... My prior set was the Avantree Audition Pro that stopped playing audio on the left side after 4+ years. Considering the QC35ii was going for over $300 back when I bought my Audition Pro headset for probably 1/3 of that, I was expecting it to be much better in ever way. The biggest feature difference between the two, is that the Avantree set doesn't have ANC. I am working from home right now, so ANC isn't as important as it was pre-covid in a low height cubical office. The things that suck out the most between the two, is that the Avantree headset has ear cups with an interior space that is about 1/4 of an inch longer than on the Bose set. My ears aren't particularly large, but I do notice where the cups touch them on the QC35ii. The Avantree earcups are also thicker and felt more comfy than the Bose ones. The most disappointing issue, is that I noticed the audio on the QC35ii sounds much more muted than on the Avantree headset. I'm not an audiophile, but can tell the sound is a bit lacking compared to what I'm used to.
