Join me as I take one of the world’s most luxurious First Class trains across an entire country. Welcome onboard the famous Blue Train, which has run for almost 100 years across giving passengers one of the most exclusive ways to travel. I’ll show you exactly what it’s like to travel for 72 hours on the rails! From the fine dining in the restaurant, to the club lounge and my favourite, the observation lounge with floor to ceiling views of the countryside. As for my room, I’ve booked two, one for my Dad (Luxury Suite) and one for myself (De Luxe Suite). The luxury suite even has a bath which should prove an interesting experience travelling at 50mph! As usual this experience was paid for by myself in full.

It's a "cruise" from Denmark to The Faroe Islands and onwards to Iceland.
There are some pretty luxurious rooms and it's quite expensive.
I think the max is for a round trip and the best suite is 3000 EUR per person.
Not sleeper train related but be cool to see your take on a Disney cruise, loving your channel btw ✌️

I think this says more about his father than him. His dad is clearly someone that's instilled good morals and manners, must be a great dad and one worthy of respect (sadly not all parents are).

Yeah, I'm a bit like a kid at Christmas whenever Trek Trendy uploads. I'm in a bad rush to watch, depending on the day, or eagerly await the time I can!
Some years ago, my mother and I agreed to go on a luxury train ride together, when she was retired (now 58) and I had a proper job (soon). This kind of video makes me look forward so greatly to when we can do this together, like you and your dad.

Amazing mate! South Africans can access the Blue Train for a reduced price when compared to international tourists, however, the price is still quite punchy thus making this a firm bucket list item for most South Africans. I was planning to book for the month of October & this video has utterly convinced me!

South African here. I'm a millennial and heard about the Blue Train in my childhood and early teens at school. I had no idea that it still exists! Thing is, our railroads have been abandoned so I thought that along with the majority of our trains sitting gathering dust...the Blue Train was a thing of the past. Thanks for the review and cost. I have driven from Joburg to Cape Town (around 18 hours with regular stops at petrol stations), have taken the bus (around 2 days, with a hundred stops along the way), and have flown there the majority of the times (less than 2 hours). It would be cool to experience this journey on a luxury train!

And was really happy you returned to my country South Africa 🇿🇦 to try out our Blue Train after you experienced the more classy and sophisticated Rovos Rail train trip during 2022. I wish I could have met you and your dad whilst you visit here in Cape Town. I live walking distance from the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront area. I assume you are staying in one of the nearby hotels here in or near the Waterfront area. This brings back memories for me. I lived in South Africa for two years, and travel was always by train. The trip from Joburg to Capetown took 24 hours. We traveled in a pullman car, and I loved it. The meals were exquisite as was the service. Once we were out of the city, the train was powered by steam.

This was a fantastic video and you got to do it with your Dad!!!! Well done! The last time I took a sleeper train was when I was 6 years old with my dad as we travelled across the Canadian Rockies. Alas, we never got the opportunity to do something like this again before he passed in 2021. As I watch this video, I can only think of "How lucky you are to still have your Dad with you to enjoy this trip together"! Cherish these moments. Continue your fine travels indeed!

I love that you gave your Dad the best suite. There are other travel channels that I watch who always give their travelling companions the worst seats or cabins and I always think that's a bit mean.

Love all the wood. Don't know about the bath tube in a moving train. Once while I worked on the U.P, Railroad here in Tucson, AZ I had to service a private car owned by a Japanese company and when talking with some of the business people from the US that was on it they said that all business meetings were conducted in three hot tubs. Amazing.
