Mike B They went up a step from C major to D major (half a step would have put them in C# major). That’s not related to what esteve said. Esteve was pointing out that major scales have a related minor scale which has the same notes, the difference being the note you start on. I.e. C major and A minor have the same notes, G major and E minor have the same notes, etc...
I have to be 100% honest, i have been stumbling my way through improvising solos for years. After watching this video i now listen back to some stuff i recorded and sounded like an amateur. You guys have really really taught me a major major lesson. Even trawling through endless hours of youtube videos on how to solo etc this is by far the best lesson i have ever watched. You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for making it so easy to understand and above all, FUN.
This is the most underrated channel. I tried to learn scales and solos before but most people teach that on an electric guitar and to watch them bend and do other stuff is so demotivating. Watching you playing on acoustic guitars in such an amazing way makes me wanna learn again. Thanx.
Oh my, I totally LOVE you guys! I have been playing guitar and writing songs for years and I could never get my head around blues and soloing... been watching your videos over the course of the evening and I have literally unlocked a whole new perspective and way to play! THANK you so much!

This is a great lesson... and both of you are teaching this difficult solo stuff while having fun and encouraging us to learn where all the notes are. Thanks for making these lessons.
I've been in such a rut, stuck in the beginning stages of learning scales and playing with backing tracks, and everything just sounds mediocre. This video is a serious breakthrough for me! Super simple but sounds great! Thanks so much guys!
Been playing for over 5 years and never attempted at soloing/improvising but after watching this video BAMM!!! never knew I could solo let alone improv. Thanks for the great lesson also subbed to Ian's channel.
I honestly think you guys are the best guitar teachers here on TH-cam. I never understood any theories from other channels the way I get it from you guys. Thank you very much! New sub here!
Wow this video topped all other videos in terms of being entertaining. It was also extremely helpful. You guys really did have an insane synergy and I couldn't help but enjoying every moment! More of these would be awesome
"Like a rich marble? I've gotten that before. Gladiator blood.." This was really great! I adore improvisation in both comedy and music. I've always found my song ideas through taking chances on guitar. landing on the root note in each section will definitely ground some live jamming with my band. Thank you!
Sean Daniel could u please clear up the major scale explained in the jam session? I thought the major scale and minor had the same shape? But the scale you explain does not mirror the minor pentatonic? Please and thanks
Ohhhhhh sh&&&&&t ARE YOU KIDDING ME MY DUDES?!?! Was it this easy?? Wow you guys made soloing so easy a million thank yous!! This is brilliant guys !! I'm now soloing really well ❤

your channel deserves a lot more subscribers!! Each video is simply amazing, a fun and interesting approach to the topic at hand. Wish you the best, keep making such amazing videos :)
Very great video, thank you Mr Daniels & Mr Stich for scale mapping. Along I listen 1st backing track (G-F-C) that takes mixolydian sound while Mr Stich improvise in C but it becomes G mixolydian scale, from this I can hear this mode clearly.
I've been learning guitar for a couple of months and I'm subscribed to both of your channels. Pretty cool to see you together. Kinda crazy actually, didn't know you knew each other.
thanks for the vid! I have always tried to resolve back to the root during improvising. .. i.e. in key of c major I would always go back to c... but I really like the idea of using the same scale but following the chord changes like this... thanks man. :-)

Yes. I like this a lot
To sum it up, locate your root notes as your taget notes where you release/land your solos in each chord bar.

Brandon DebRoy because this is the full major scale not the major pentatonic. The pentatonic is just five notes of the major scale.
