well you see scp squad members are just d-class people who have some personal freedom, get paid, and have insurance benefits. not to mention they often have the IQ and observation skills of a potato. hence why the die so much during mission details. gotta have some kind of test dummy to push off a cliff and see if the water is safe to swim ya know.

Honestly, Raquel and David brought it upon themselves. They were right that there are some anomalies that should be destroyed, but they were misguided and ignorant of how to properly deal with the creature. They knew nothing of it's weaknesses or what could stun long enough to get the upper hand. They simply went and grabbed any weapon they could get their hands on. They were too scared to properly use them to get a direct hit. They talk a big game, but when it came down to it, they didn't have what it takes when it came to facing this creature with Raquel even running and leaving his friend to die. This is why the Foundation contains anomalies instead of destroying on sight. Not knowing anything about them would result in a horrid situation for you and anyone else involved.
Ultimate, it was a result of arrogance and foolish behavior. David became one of The Sack Man's latest victims, while Raquel will be forever haunted by the experience he witnessed.
While I agree that they were foolish to do what they did, but understandably, they only did what they thought would work. They're not like us, outside viewers, who know how the story will end and have all the information. They acted like what all humans are deep down; animals. They acted like cornered animals, feeling this thing threatened them to the point where they needed to attempt to kill it. And Raquel running away is a simple "Fight or Flight" reflex. Sure, he ran away. Wouldn't you? You just saw this thing kill your friend, and you had to watch. You'd run away just as easily, maybe sooner, if you were in Raquel's shoes.
We're only humans, and these things are much stronger, much scarier, and above all, monstrous. These aren't simple creatures you can just kill and go on like its a video game, these things (specifically SCP-050-PT) are incredibly durable, and possibly impenetrable. How you going to kill something that even machines couldn't even try to break?
@@KingDerpy13 Raquel actually ran and left David behind, not after he was killed. Plus, Raquel fainted when he saw David die. However, I won’t object to the “Fight or Flight” response. I admit, I would run too. Anyone would run from a monster that they couldn’t hurt or didn’t know how to kill. Human nature is no different to the beasts of the Earth. Still, I wouldn’t just run and leave my friends behind. I actually feel sad for Raquel, no one should have to go through that. It would’ve been better, if they were just guarding a much safer anomaly.
I think both the Foundation and GOC have valid points on protecting humanity from anomalous threats but they may be a bit too stubborn with their views. The Foundation is too hesitant on terminating dangerous anomalies while the GOC might be a bit too trigger happy. I forgot which SCP it is but there's one which was basically an anomalous wooden chair but after some GOC personnel tried to improperly destroy it it turned into a more dangerous anomaly being sentient wooden shrapnels or something
I’m with you there, the Organizations should be more open-minded. One of the problems is that a good number of SCPs are difficult to destroy. SCP 682 is the best example. The GOC and the Foundation could learn from each other, if they’re willing to hear one another out.

To be fair the guards are usually there just to keep (human) people out so no need for silver bullets or flamethrowers. The mtf are for combat with scp and anomalies.

When it's immune to literally everything, can teleport and manipulate your perception of reality; and then the author when realizing he wrote himself into a corner, just puts in a passage like "and then the SCP was captured by some MTF" without further explanation, lmao.

I love that in the intro, he tries to convey emotion, but all emotion had been drained.
The moment we got to David complaining so much as to why the Foundation is trying to study and find its weakness instead of simply using the powerful one they have on standby...I knew that it was over for him due to the lack of patient. And as for his friend...at least he survived, but I feel that he's facing the consequences after explaining everything to the foundation.

Jesus SCP-050 is one of the most lighthearted and funny scps and then theres THIS
Looks like an unrefined version of SCP-096 maybe they share some common traits, might be both homunculs, this SCP-050-PT tho looks like it has some bondage to the skeleton of some of his species(indicating that they might not get along to well or that they are somehow connected as entities by some traditions), on the other part Shy-Guy 096 might be a male and female trapped in a body that it causes both the regeneration and the pain process. Looks also like a strange connection to be detailed. This can be some of the devourer giants described as being kids of the nephilims or some mutants created by some humanoid species that got infected with something pestilent that morphed them.

There's a reason why:
1. Killing the SCP might hurt upon death without proper study on what's in the SCP and can damaging it show sign that something might trigger a kill switch that can injure or kill
2. The SCP might have some benefits or ways to be used as a weapon to contain or kill other SCPs when trained
3. Lacking the understanding of its strengths or weaknesses
Just trap it, then throw it in 682's cell for a fat minute.

Hey, I know this one. It's a legend passed through generations in Brazil. My Mom used to sang us a history, about a girl who lost her golden earrings in the river she went to swim and when she went back to find, the sackman got her. The creepiest part was when she sang the song that the girl sang in the sack, something about being trapped because she went back to find her golden earrings. Creepy stuff, I tell you what.

This video was very interesting, and, since I'm a brazilian, I'm speacially happy because this is the first time I watched a video about an SCP based on a creature from the brazilian folklore. Here in Brazil, he's known as "o velho do saco", in English it can be translated to "the sack old man".
We do have el hombre del saco in Spain too but I don't know where he was originally from
@@lilau13 its also a portuguese legend, so I suppose it was a legend from the iberian peninsula because it makes sense if only portuguese and Spanish speaking countries have this legend
