For a guy who survived three years working at the Foundation, Scofield was pretty dumb.
I would say cocky or arrogant. He believes he’s seen it all, but hasn’t even scratched the surface of what the Foundation deals on a daily basis. He’s been working for this organization for three years, he should know better than to take these things lightly by now. Plus, it’s a Keter-Class, anomalies that are usually the most dangerous.
@@malikthomas9154 Usually. Though keter just means that it's nigh impossible to contain so it could be as harmless as a pen that vanishes and ends up in someone else's pocket every time someone uses or gets rid of it.
I'd say so too he had like zero instincts and seemed like he was just winging it the whole time with no backup plan if things hit the fan. Which they did.

I like to think that someone in the foundation confused Not Deer with the Deer God, so the 0-5 council *had* to specify in THE NAME that this thing was, in fact, *not* a deer

Edit: correction, SCP 2845's synonym name is "Deer of Saturn", yet for whatever reason, SCP 2845 has more of a "friendship" with Pangloss than Saturn Deer, Pangloss' own "brother" has. Very confusing, especially with Saturn Deer's miniscule role in the SCP mythos.

@@B1ue_fruits I am fairly new to this but from what I understand, they look like deer but have some odd features to them. Examples sharp teeth eyes are not in the proper position like a normal deer. It's said the main sightings are in the application area of the US but again I don't know much about them. If you are curious I'm sure you can find some videos on YT about them. I started hearing about them late last year.

0:35 One-way mirrors are actually just glass. They function as mirrors only when the brightness on one side greatly exceeds that of the other- And in this case, the observation room is so brightly lit that you can easily see through.

Seems this thing can tell it’s being observed from any source somehow, given its staring at the cameras. Looks like it can tell if it’s being watched even by a machine or through a surface it shouldn’t be able to see past
I think that's just a mistake in the portraying of one way mirror rather than the room actually being lit allowing it to see in.
even so usually one way mirrors are incredibly obvious and if they are incredibly smart its not impossible to think that it just looked where it thought the interviewer was also it could be anomalous hearing or sight though your explanation makes the most sense and im probably just overthinking it

Something I noticed after they said "black tendrils, that after emerging left a deer skin", no, the SCP is the deformed version of the deer, but the true SCP is THE PARASITE THAT IS TAKING SKINS OF FOREST DWELLERS AND BECOMING THIS THING

The parasites just want to be left alone so they collect parts from random creatures, and the body of a deer so they don't get noticed, and when they do, they make shure that they don't pass on the information.
how to ignore this scp:
1:wear two layers of scarfs.
2:wear laered coats.
3wear head-phones to not hear it.
and last but not least 4:always walk the same speed if ya don't there is a higher chance

I love this scp for the attention to detail that they mentioned it has forward facing eyes and animals with forward facing eyes are predators, this gives the people who know about this fact a scary hint before even reading the full file or hearing the whole story, absolutely wonderful!

When he said “I’ve seen monster fridges to dragons” I’m pretty mans was high or delusional since the closest thing I imagine dragon that he seen is those origami dragons. Honestly he probably was playing around with safe scp for those 3 years, if the foundation sends you to investigate a MONSTER killing citizens you give it your full attention and be ready to kill it, why did only go with a rifle not even an assault rifle or an automatic just ur average one shot reload rifle the heck is that gonna do when you know the creature’s dangerous if I was that man I would’ve brought a whole minigun.

@@anonymousmonkey9491 the earth goddess is Clef’s wife who he killed(and also in SCP 4231 she is known as both 4231-A and 231-1).The incomplete ritual is SCP 4971-▽ who is the god of sacrifice and rituals. There is also the Deer from Saturn(or just The Deer)which is Scp 2845 who is based on both Saturn/Kronos, and Saturn Deer who is a trickster god that rode 2845 into war against the Scarlet King. Saturn Deer isn’t classified as an SCP tho but does appear in multiple SCPs and tales. Also Clef’s daughter SCP-166 technically counts.
Makes me happy to see our good old carnivorous man eating creatures rather then some harmless object or anti reality demon.

Sounds like an alternate reality of a real life disease called Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) aka zombie deer has tons of similarities such as lack of fear,increased aggression,body looking a bit decompressed and also how its a "parasite" not an entity itself

This is actually an SCP that scares me..
I always find it fascinating how animal abominations scare us more than zombies, dragons, or any fantasy type creatures. Is it because we relate more to animals we have seen with our own two eyes?
It’s the subversion of something pure and innocent that makes it feel worse. For example, one of the reason the wendigo creature terrifies me so is because it basically subverts an the image of an innocent majestic animal(deer/stag) from a generally status in its own lane vegetarian to a man eating abomination who crosses space and time to get to its next prey with even more horrific features.
From what I can tell, the tendrils are the actual creature, they get inside a normal deer, (living or dead, I'm not sure) and take it over, deforming its body in the process, making it easier to control

I like how this one definitely takes from urban legends and runs with it. Though I could do without the tendril part. Only because for me, it breaks some if the horror of this creature. Pretty much saying hey this thing was a deer then got taken over by something instead of it never having been a deer but vaguely looking like one. Big difference, but I respect the effort to try an combine both sides of the urban legends into one creature.

@@percyjackson3311 In this case its the Not Deer. It's an urban legend from the east coast/Appalachian mountain area of the United States. Pretty much the story or sightings are like described in the video, a deer that doesn't quite look right or seem right that you should just walk away from and not go near and preferably forget you saw. It's supposed to be super terrifying to be in it's presence at all. This story took that, added the tenticals and bloodthirsty monster aspect from what I know of the legend.

SCP - XXXX "Purple Blood Phenomena"
Object Class: -Safe- Keter
Description
- In recent years, a number of still living individuals have had a sudden and unexplained recoloring of their blood from the typical red, to a plain violet, or "purple" color. As most describe it.
This phenomenon has occurred in regular foundation personnel, civilians, victims of graphic crimes, and even other SCP's. This recoloring has no ill effects on the body but does concern a number of personnel in the foundation for the complete lack of reasoning behind this sudden change and how little it affects.
Special Containment Procedures:
- None. What are we going to do about blood? It's already pre-contained. But there's currently no known method of turning the blood back to its own natural hue.
Something tells me it wasn't a good idea to send 2 people to capture an SCP that successfully murdered a whole squadron of SCP agents.
They didn't. The incident during the 5 days at the cabin happened at the same time as the break out at the facility. They captured one of the not deer and sent the two man team to investigate the appearance of more. That's why Scofield received a live update from the Foundation to warn him what he was dealing with.
Frankly, if you work at the SCP Foundation and still use the words "It's just a ________" you deserve whatever happens to you

Some deer stand on two legs to reach food to eat sometimes and have been the source of the spooky deer man sightings. Can look very eerie if seen from afar while in the mountains as they try to get hard to reach food. Then compound that with people being drunk, high, tired, or easily scared at night.
Yeah if I saw a deer on two legs take like 6 steps bipedally towards me, I'd shit my whole house out.

Could you do SCP-1522 Ships That Pass In The Night? It’s one of my favorites and is also the first SCP to mention the character Pangloss.
i was waiting for this one for a while
You wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of your door creaking open, in moves a large dear like creature in the dark. Deciding you have a poor memory and drank last night, you decide to get out of your room to get a drink. Knowing you there is no person who would be disturbed to see you walking naked or in underwear out of the room, you walk out of it casually, ignoring the creature standing right next to the door.
You know you won't be able to sleep after what you saw, so you pretend you have problems sleeping this particular night and get a sleeping pil and some relaxing sleep music on. The creature has been following you around this entire time, but you were "entranced" by your desire to get something to drink and clear your head up a bit.
Once again in your bed, you can feel the creature looming over you are you turn your head to your natural sleeping position away from the creature. You get drowsy, the sound of breathing fills your ear, but you had the time to relax and understand that, as long as you don't acknowledge the beast, you will be fine.
You wake up normally the next day, stand in-front of the mirror and think to yourself "What the hell just happened!? Thank god all those hours of watching scp videos prepared me for this instance".
The creature was never seen again, but you heard news of massacres and disappearances in your neighborhood. You are the only person who know what happened that night, because you were the only person who watched that scp video who were visited that night during the short time of activity.
Give yourself a pat on the back because you deserve it after a successful encounter with scp 6448.
