So, an anecdotal comment, from a street rider. Compared to a 2002 ZX-6R that I drove for 10,000 miles, the 2nd generation Hayabusa feels twice as nimble. The Hayabusa feels so much easier to ride, that it feels like you are professional rider, compared to the 2002 ZX-6R. On the Ninja, I never once felt comfortable taking a corner, like somehow it absolutely did not want to turn, it really just wanted to stay straight up and down, and take jumps like a dirtbike. The steering geometry of the ZX-6R (or possibly the tire combination and air pressure, etc) made it feel twice as slow to steer, as the 2nd gen Hayabusa. The Hayabusa feels so easy to drive fast around corners that it inspires 100% more confidence, and doesn't feel scary, even without any practice riding it. The ZX-6R always scared me, and felt like I was pushing my luck if I ever tried to really lean it very far. I am not sure why this is. I think it has to do simply with the steering head angle on the Busa being sharper, and the steering being faster. The Hayabusa has a steering stabalizer, probably to compensate for the fast and twitchy steering angle. Bottom line, is the Hayabusa is WAY more fun to ride fast on curvy roads than the ZX-6R. But that's also because I am not a racer. The ZX-6R was way more fun in town, in heavy traffic, where it felt absolutely at home.
This sounds as if you never had the 6 set up for you, nor made any geometry adjustments (forks/triples). You could've adjusted the rake/trail slightly for quicker and easier "turn-in/flicking" by either lowering the front 2, 4, 5mm (10mm if it had to be), or raising the rear a 1/2" (12mm) or so. Also, if the rear suspension was too soft, or the front was too stiff, then the bike will understeer (picture - carolina squat).

@@LINKchris87 hi mate never ever get hayabusa. Too heavy, breakes not good enough to stop from 175mph. I sold it after 6 months of ownership. Nobody even wanted to buy it from me so i sold it to: " we buy any bikes dot com" for less than half price i paid😢 and its was just used black 2006 hayabusa. I wasted my money. Go for zx10r 2005 or gsxr 1000 k5 or if you can find bargain- cbr 954 fireblade.i could not believe for 2 months i could not sell this bike.if i get zx10r i would have it to this day. Because i wanna do skydiving licence and spend money on that- for now i post poned buying a motorbike- i just cant afford every toy i want so bikes have to wait for me unless covid will stay next year and i wont go abroad to do my skydiving licence then i will get zx10r 2004-2005.i just read my previous comment and i must be drunk writting it as is no way i would recommend hayabusa to anyone as i wrote it in few comments. I still have pics with her but thats about it- i wish i would never buy it.trust me its heavy bike,nearly 600 pounds. Yes its quick but feels like riding a boat. So again- get 1000cc if you want quick bike. Hayabusa should be in museum only. Not for sale
No you wont. I bought it after 3 years of dreaming and i regret it. Sold it after 6 months due to poor breaks from factory and weight for less than HALF PRICE I PAID.not a single sould was interested in my bike and others sellers know that. Nobody wants heavy bulky bikes. Dont waste your money on that. Go for 1000cc. They weight like 600 and have power 2x of 600.dont repeat my mistake

What is the purpose of this video? Seems like it could be a great opportunity (if not the plan) to show how a guy improves with A - practice and B- mods to the bike like suspension, weight loss on the bike, tires, even tire pressure, etc. Looked a bit stiff going over the apex berm so it would be cool to see how things like that (suspension tuning) reduce his lap times.

+bailey9r ahahah actually no. he attended a riding course on that day and he bought us the video service. so we filmed him, we put his video on youtube and once home he was able to see how he went that day.

I am going from a cbr600rr to a hayabusa
that was epic, basically he used a drag machine inside a close circuit. hayabusa is heavy and fat belly, too much angle this thing lose the ground contact of rear wheel
I have ridden the 2nd generation Hayabusa, and a 2002 Ninja ZX-6R Ninja. The Hayabusa feels like an actual race bike, ready for track use, and with a little practice, could probably do better lap times than the ZX-6R, with a similarly skilled rider. But this is just my opinion. The Hayabusa feels so tight, and has ridiculously stiff and taught suspension and heavy dampening so you feel like it's set in "race mode" unlike the ZX-6R which was a lot more forgiving and soft, and really slow to turn, it didn't like to turn at all. The Ninja was way more fun to drive in traffic because it was so light and had zero vibration, and zero chain lash, no matter how slow you were going in 6th gear, even idling in 6th gear produced zero chain lash.

Clearly, this bro is no rider. Sure, he can drop the knee, but he looks very intimidated & slow. Granted, the 'busa isn't as aggressive in turns as other bikes, but this bro is slow af.
I've always loved the Hayabusa, and always wanted one, but seeing on the track it just looks like a big fat unwieldy bike. Definitely not a track bike.
It’s a road bike that’s faster than anybody, too much bike for most. I dislike the smog regulations and changes made to the exhaust , and body too.my Honda 450 weighed more .. than a hayabusa.

It's just aero body panels. Looks fatter than it handles. I took the stock exhaust off mine for weight, little bit of clearance, however I never lean that much on the street on any bike as it leaves no room for error.
FYI - Yamaha YFZ1000 235kg wet (an older sports bike of mine, 1000cc engine in alloy 750 frame). My Gen 2 Busa, 249kg wet. Not much difference. I could probably knock another 10 kgs off it with minimal effort. Steel to alloy seat subframe and Lithium battery.
I suggest going for a ride, a Busa surprises so many people. 😊

you need to put someone on that busa that can ride, that guy is slow! I could eat them other bikes up easily with a busa! he is scared of the corners and dont give it full throttle on the straights! I owned an 01 busa and getting another one soon! maybe I'll come show him how to ride hard at 54 yrs old!
