    🔴 To prevent burns, allow the engine, exhaust system, radiator, etc., to cool before installing the accessory. Because it requires specialized knowledge and special tools and equipment, it is recommended to install it at a dealer with qualified
    automobile maintenance.

    Very hard work to do it by yourself. At least the tricky part is to mount the first two symmetrical plates on the chassis.
    After that, I believe it is easy for someone to install the rest of the pieces by himself.
    I'll wait to do it on the first 1000KM initial service on an authorized service, not void the warranty by me !

    Honda made a geniuous move in preparing this bike for the engine bars and skid plate. Would have been perfect if they would install from the factory that 3 hole plate, then no one would have to mess with frame bolts.
    Even so, the bolts that you have to remove are not directly connected to the engine so, there is no risk of destroying the thread in the engine.
    I think the easier way to to this is to remove one bolt, then attach plate with the longer bolt, only then remove the second bolt, move the plate into position and insert the longer bolt. And I think by the time you installed it on the right side, you've done it this way as well.
    When the torque key clanks without the bolt moving, it means the torque is at least the set value - it can be a lot more as well.
    Even though this is expensive it seems to be the best and it is work the money long term. Also looks the best.

    Thanks for posting. I installed mine without issue except I dropped one of the nuts for the engine bracket and it disappeared. I I am not kidding, my garage floor is spotless but somehow the nut vanished into oblivion so I had to buy a new flange nut.

    1400 is a lot, aftermarket stuff for my freewind was about 300. But the oem parts look and fit really great!

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, only aftermarket option at this time it's SW Motech... They look too bulky, but for example the SW Motech skidplate has 4mm instead of 3mm OEM.. The rest seems the same. Also for the Handguards we have SW Motech BB STORM and Acerbis these are much better than the OEM

    Hi.
    Thank you for the excellent videos you uploaded on the topic of mounting protection for the Transalp and the quickshifter.
    The videos are really good and helpful for a person who wants to assemble these parts by himself.
    I wanted to draw your attention to the original skid plate, which is produced by the Honda company and mounted on the Transalp, the thickness of the aluminum is very thin and stands at only 2.5 millimeters. This thickness will not protect the bottom of the engine in rocky terrain and the bottom of the engine can crack. It would be better to install a thicker material of at least 3-4 millimeters, as other manufacturers do. Also, it would have been better to have all the screws with Loctite so they wouldn't loosen due to the vibrations while driving.🎉

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, thanks for the comment! The thickness of the skidplate it's from 2,8 up to 3,5mm maximum measured precisely, on the bottom it's 3mm and on the bolts area it's 3,5mm, I consider enough for normal gravel roads. If you want extreme Off-road then a 4mm thickness would be better (this is the one from Sw-Motech). All the bolts have special locktite solution applied especially the important ones. Greetings!

    Hi, I'm installing engine guard this weekend by myself. Please let us know what exactly is the torque for 10x75mm flange bolts. Thank you 😊

    On the manual, the connection of the engine guard on the right side next to the brake lever, is shown to be from the inside of metal. Here you show it connected to the outside

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's really doesn't matter, in the Honda manual it was like that, but on the commercial it was the other way 😅

      @@IdealBike Αrthur you must think twice if you plan to put the Upper Side Pipes cause the Transalp will lost its beauty. Its protection VS beauty.

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to put them... Unfortunately the look will be not so nice... It will cover the Transalp logo from the side. I will sacrifice the look for the protection.

    Not sure if there is a difference but the instructions said the right engine guard the end of it should install behind the frame. You installed on top of the frame.

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It makes no real difference honestly. It's like in the Honda service manual. But in the commercials it's behind.

      It's debatable because it's different in the video Honda commercial, in the manual it's different left to right... Anyways it really does not make any difference.

    • @IdealBike

      From 210mm it goes down to 3 mm plus another 7mm at least. It's maximum 200mm

      The complete RALLY PACK has 10 Kg, this I've measured. Front side pipe has at least 3,5 Kg, Engine Guard about 2,5 Kg, skidplate 1,5 Kg (these are the approximate weights
