I am a female motovlogger from Assam and recently completed a trip to Ladakh. On my way home, one of the bolts connecting the engine and chassis fell off, and another one was about to fall off. Fortunately, I noticed it just in time. My chassis would probably have broken if I hadn't noticed, which is a serious issue. I had to make an unplanned stop in Siliguri to fix these problems. I’ll be uploading the videos soon and hope that Royal Enfield takes this issue seriously. By the way, my leg guard is genuine from Royal Enfield and was installed at a Royal Enfield showroom.

Royal Enfields are the biggest pieces of dog sheet. Mur Thunderbird ekhon asil in 3 years it sucked the niceness out of me. Rode 56k kms in 3 years and later sold it off. I bought a Mahindra Mojo BS6 last year, did Ladakh in May of this year and did 25k kms in a single year and except the rear brake got stuck once it never gave me any issue.

I had 3 of my friends buy Hunters, and almost lost all 3 of them because of how horrible my recommendation turned out to be in the end!
Two of the Hunters had faulty fuel cap issue, and the last one's key would not come out of the hole without the blessings of Thor!
None of the 3 bikes' issues were said to be under Royal Enfield's warranty! They had to pay out of pocket to get them fixed and even today, they remind me about how I made them buy pieces of junk!
Everyday, I regret recommending them, and would *NEVER* buy a Royal Enfield in my life! Sure, I'd go to the showroom, sit on it and get an overall opinion of the bike, but that's it.
Thankfully, with Mavrick 440 and Scrambler 400X, I have a few choices left. I might buy an LC4C KTM Adventure next, but it isn't comfirmed.

I have 10 year old wagon R (57K kms) and 5 yr old Interceptor (11k kms) barely used. The amt of times my RE has visited the service centre is twice as much when compared. Don’t get me wrong, I love my RE, haven’t had any major issues but god man, those small annoying niggles, brakes go soft soon after a light wash, speedo stops working completely, smooth af when working properly but unexpected vibrations sometimes, out of nowhere that too, water gets into spark plugs, unavailable parts at service centre, leaky front forks. It gets to you after a while. RE needs some serious quality control and the service centre, they need to get fixed asap. This made me love and appreciate my wagon R a lot more for its reliability and its service centres even though it’s just a tiny, fragile box with a puny engine, it has never, not once given up on me.

I am riding interceptor for last 2 years, around 30k on odometer. I am having an issue from last 6 months. The engine rpm fluctuates even in running condition, either there will be minor drop suddenly or minor increase in rpm. I have been to the company owned service centre in Hyderabad, each time they said this is normal. It took efforts to make them understand that this is an issue. Took the mechanic on ride and showed the exact thing. He agreed to check the issue, could not debug and told me that they will call the flyer to get it checked. ( for peculiar issues, they call some sort of senior mechanic who visits the service centres on demand ). He also could not figure out the reason of problem. Later on, they resorted to saying that this is not a problem. I took the flyer with me for short ride and showed him the issue. He argument was this is not a problem. To show this he chose other interceptor, we rode that too which was running butter smooth. When he ran out of arguments, he saw that I am using brass chain of RK takasago company. So he came up with this argument that you are not using stock chain, that's why this issue is happening. I moved to RK takasago chain thinking to solve this exact issue. Told him that the issue was there before chaning the chain and sprocket. That also didn't help and when I was bit busy with the staff of service centre, he fled from there. I couldn't find him. So I thought that there is no sense in wasting time with these guys and I returned. This is the situation of a company owned service centre. The issue with my bike is still there. Getting it checked else where now.

As a RE BS4 Himalayan owner, the issues with the bike never seem to end. I fix one problem and feel good about riding care-free, but this happiness is short-lived because another issue is always waiting. The guys at RE just don't care and often make customers feel foolish, suggesting any bike problem is due to our riding skills. For some issues, they dismissively say, "Itna to hota hi hai" (This much is normal).

I have a 12-year-old RE Bullet 500 cc that has hardly run 6,000 km and has so many issues I have lost count of. I had replaced carburetor, ignition coils many times, starter motor, slip bearing many times, switch gear, chains and sproket due to rusting, dynamo coil due to burnout, and 4-5 batteries due to deep discharge, front break hydraulic cables due to leakage, etc. I can't sell it because no one wants to pay a good price for it. Bulu bhai, just ignore the haters. They are those who can't afford to buy the number of motorcycles in their lifetime which you do in a year. @@BuluBiker I agree. But as you rightly pointed out, if there are hardly any negatives to say about a particular brand of motorcycle, these people assume that someone is a fanboy. This is especially the case with RE owners.
I have a friend who owns a 2014 model of RE 350 which has severe rust issues, and there are several problems that he has faced till date, yet it is quite amusing that he keeps saying that there is nothing to beat a RE. I don't argue with him, bcoz he has a cult following for RE and we would be wasting our time if we start arguing with such people.

Very sensible. Mujhe yaad hai about 10 years ago when I wanted to upgrade from Splendor, I asked on Facebook, which bike is best to buy apart from an RE bike and I got many comments saying that RE is not a bike, its an "emotion", nothing is better than RE. My close friends who owned an RE also said that but I didn't want to buy an RE coz I personally didn't like Classic or Bullet (still I don't). I asked them that atleast then please tell me which is the second best "emotion" after RE !? Still, they were stuck on RE and did not give me any answer. I went for a Yamaha at that time and still have that and last year I bought Meteor 350 as I like cruise motorcycles. Being an RE owner now, I still feel that if there's any negative point to share then one must share and keep a rational approach instead of cursing other bikes/motorcycles but as you said, this mindset only comes after maturity.

The highest speed which shows in my speedo is still 89kmph after 7 years .
Never got it serviced till date outside not even once. And they told me don't accelerate aggressively. 60 k upr Jata hi ni main uske bawajood .

One half of why the reason for me selling my Himalayan 411 was the fan boys. They weren't ready to accept that we were riding a substandard bike. In the first 2 years of ownership I clocked 48 SC visits for things that I couldn't believe went wrong. The combined cost of the parts replaced - over ₹50k most of which were replaced under warranty. If you really are an RE fanboy, then urge them to improve quality - they'll save more money in the long run. I even got the argument that atleast RE cares enough to change the parts... I was stumped after hearing that. Most brands would have recalled all bikes and fixed the issues. Here they wasted our time and effort in running between SCs for parts, slots and mechanics availablity. Point is, don't make excuses for a brand that didn't care enough to do the checks on the product/parts before selling it you.
Thank you for calling them out, but you can't win a logical debate with an illogical crowd.

Went to nearest showroom, they took the bike in while they asked me to sit in waiting lounge. Within 10-15 mins they fixed it and gave it back! Best part is they did not charge a penny for this work. The technician gave some good tips to avoid these problems in future. Overall very good experience. I got a cb350 h’ness recently. This is my 9th motorcycle and the list included a 1994 RE bullet. While I loved the bullet, the brand has always been associated with component failures and bad service. I had a tough 1.5-2 yrs with the bike. When I sold it and few years later I was in the market for a bike, I was apprehensive about buying an RE so I asked existing RE users (year 2010) and almost everyone had a bad review. I went for a karizma. Although it wasn’t the best of the bikes, it gave me trouble free 5 yrs of service. My foolishness that I sold it. Now I own a cb350 and looking for a trouble free experience. Before I bought the cb350, I went and test rode a lot of bikes: the hostility of the RE showroom staff is unparalleled.

Sorry for the issues you're facing with your Honda. There was a thread on team-bhp where a person wrote about his experience with Honda Hornet 2.0 (180cc same engine and almost all underpinnings of the CB200X). He too was facing strange issues with engine internals, I guess. Pls search and read thru that thread.
And try to find a solution outside Honda service centre, that is, in a good trustworthy aftermarket mechanic workshop who has a reputation for providing a quality service.
A number of non-BigWing service centres do not provide good diagnostic services because of sheer volume of Activas Honda sells and they have to service, which, in my opinion is a pain point for most owners.

I was afraid that somebody had actually managed to break the handle lock successfully. Completed the whole trip using chain locks on its wheels and got a disc lock upon returning home. Perfectly nailed it. I have been a RE rider since last 24 years, yes there is problem with quality and RE doesn't get that aspect over all these years!!

I agree with you, I have interceptor bs4 2019. Since buying it is never 100% okay. Kuch na kuch problem usme hona hi Hai, Kitna v theek Karo, I'm frustrated. Chery on top service centre r not skilled enough to rectify and solve the problem quickly.

Another main issue in every RE bike I have done little research from my end initially engine doesn't have any tapet sound issue, later the engine develops tappet sound it increases with the time, but it doesn't ends here it drastically decreases milage performance and engine life as well.

Every bike indeed has its pros and cons. I purchased a Hero Mavrick 440 just 2 months ago, and unfortunately, I've encountered multiple issues within this short period. In these 2 months, I've had to visit the service center 12 times. So far, the ECU, throttle body, and gear position sensor have all been replaced. Now the horn, hazard & speedometer is not working. The bike is showing new issues every week. I hope this helps anyone planning to buy the Mavrick 440 to make an informed decision.
