    Never finish ur song at the first day NEVER. Because your ears can misleading you….Next day when you listen to project again you will hear a lot of problems with your project then you can fix the issue and release it. PS: good track bro keep up the great work.

  • @Vi_Ta_Lee
    @Vi_Ta_Lee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    Great Tutorial as a challenge. But if making a regular track, not in one hour - I personally highly recommend checking the tune/key of the kick first. The kick got a tail of low (bass) that got a tone. Also, export the "bass" after reverb manipulations that can change the tonality of the sound and check the tone of the bass after all these creative things. Re-pitch it in the primary key of the song. The track will sound more musically right to the ear.

    • @lisotunali3807
      @lisotunali3807 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go watch "tuning the kicks? - by e clip" on youtube, you'll learn why it doesn't matter and you can just go by ear. All you need to do is listen for a desired phase between kick and bass.

    • @Vi_Ta_Lee
      @Vi_Ta_Lee 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lisotunali3807 Maybe when it's a short kick without a tail. Don't need to forget that you are planning to combine bass with other melodic elements to keep your track in tune. if your track is just drums, yes, it does not matter at all, but if we are talking about the original sample where the tail already has a note inside, or maybe you plan a pitch it in harmony with a pad or arp, for example. It's better to check precisely what tone Is to do it correctly later. Of course, we all got own way of working.

    • @Vi_Ta_Lee
      @Vi_Ta_Lee 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lisotunali3807 , I watched the video, by the way. Good tutorial. Again, we all got different techniques.

    • @lisotunali3807
      @lisotunali3807 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Vi_Ta_Lee The point is that a kick does NOT have a stable tone in it's tail. It's descending. An analyzer will tell you that it does have a peak at a certain frequency, but that's energy level and not a stable tone like a bass is. It's still important to have that sit in a good spot in a nice relation to the bass but using your ears to do that will be much more beneficial than a tuner

    I appreciate the fact you have taken 1 hour out of your time to make this video.
    Thank you.
    This is part of the problem why modern music all sounds the same though. Because every one is making music by numbers.
    Everyone using the same 'taught' techniques, same sounds, same equipment, it's boring.
    The reason why mid 80's to early 90's techno was so good, is because producers were doing their own thing, actually using their ears to make music and not copy what somebody else has already done on a screen.
