The ESC doesn't turn off with the switch. it's a safety feature from traxxas So people don't leave their batteries plugged in in their truck and cause a hazard.
Yes you are correct. I was not aware of that. I spoke with Traxxas and they informed me of that. I haven’t used an updated Traxxas esc in forever. Thanks fir the comment also.
@@UDRC85 The E-Revo 2.0's were randomly shutting off when the truck first came out too. Turns out the buttons were sticking in the escs and traxxas started pushing esc updates to fix that too.

The XRT is 75 to 80% X-Maxx. The part you need is 7897 It is part of the X-Maxx wide body. If you are going to jump the XRT. Take it to a skate part and launch it 30 feet in the air. Mine did fine.
what is it with these traxxas ESC's when the battery goes low it wont switch off from the button you need to unplug it and totally defeats the purpose of putting in the on off switch gizmo plastic red piece i bought off ebay it only turns on and off before the battery goes low ??? very annoying with the crawler as goto take off the body and all that whilst covered in mud and dirt out at the track and loose me some body clips as usual lol cheers UD RC from Melbourne Australia 🙂
On a Traxxas Farm I think they said something about people that start leaving a battery in a car plugged up they were going to eliminate the offspruit for you cannot forget to leave your batteries in it so I'm thinking maybe that was the first one they did that too because if they can turn it on maybe they just eliminate the part that you cut it off you only can cut it off now but unplugging it looking at the batteries yourself thank you
Yes that the update. I am going to run qs8 but I did not want to change them before my first run in case something went wrong with the esc and they try to blame me fir changing the connectors.
@@UDRC85 lol, yeah, im sure traxxas wonders the same thing...but, with all of their customer service data, ill bet you money that they realized ALOOOOOT of ppl leave their trucks plugged in and grenade their batteries..i bought a stampede years ago for one of my cousins, and i gave her nimh batts instead of lipos, and sure enough, the next time i visited, the truck was plugged in and off..i had to dead short and re-fresh the battery (old trick) and it was fine....if i had given her lipos, well, that would have been a different (and more dangerous) story.

That's a shame buddy I don't like to see that especially on a new RC.... Hopefully you get a part real soon.... I was kinda hoping you wouldn't try a bk flip, I've been watching quite a few videos on the XRT, most ppl thinking bigger tyres or gear up for the flips.... Other than that a great first run... Very impressive 👍

Bad landings and all I'm still really surprised that link split so easily. Almost as if there was a fault in the link from the get. Or so it seems to me anyway. Great vid either way though, thanks for that 👍
It didn't take much to break it, but that's how it goes with bad landings hehe. I've gone 26ft into the air with my rigs and when I land correctly, my rigs drive away. But when I do a 5 ft jump with a bad landing something usually breaks 😂👍. This rig is nice. Congrats.

Be prepared to replace the ring and pinion gears in the center diff as well. My LHS has replaced 3 sets of gears in two battery packs. Poor chassis design and powder-cast gears. One ring gear came out in 5 pieces.
That link is WEAK if it broke that easily. Going in slow motion u can see it snapped just from the impact of the back wheels, u didn’t even land bad on the front! Seems that the link nerds to be a little thicker there where it cracked
I understand that but now you can no longer use the power button to turn it off. Traxxas is saying you have to unplug it to turn it off now. It’s a safety thing.
It’s funny u say no tsm in the air and it corrects itself. You know it’s better to jump without the tsm in the air the tsm causes it to wanna correct itself but because it’s in the air it doesn’t know what to do. Lol man that sucks. Think u can prob swap out some parts with the XMaxx. Need a taller ramp or put something under the front of the ramp it will make it easier to back flip.
Yeah I’m not sure about the tsm. On the radio it was off so I was surprised it adjusted in the air. I normally put the ramp on the curb so it get more air but I thought it would have done it without the ramp against the curb. All good.

Man that's not good....I never turn off esc's with the button ..I was always told (multiple ppl) you never do that n unplug the batts ....Traxxas tough baby🤙👍
I use the switch ton my esc but I also unplug my batteries always. I was not aware of people not unplugging the batteries. I don’t run any newer Traxxas esc so I was confused 😂. I was going fit the backflip but did not have the rotation. These tires don’t balloon much.

It seemed to me like there wasn’t any oil in the shocks, or they needed more preload.

Something seems weird. The front broke when the rear hit grass? Is there some manufacturing or design error?

Seems like your running in training mode or 6s … your cars running slow , reset the esc

They don’t turn off if you hit low voltage. Have to unplug the batteries. It’s a known Traxxas thing for years and years
