And as Steve mentioned, "Not Afraid" extended version is a great example of Melody's vocals. For a great cover that also highlights Melody's vocals see there cover of "Seven Nation Army". Abigail, the drummer got married in August of 2023 and they had a touring drummer while she prepared for the wedding, the wedding itself, honeymoon and then getting settled into her new home. She is also a teacher so she still participated in writing music and performed in videos filmed during school breaks. She returned to tour during the summer and announced a couple of months ago that she and her husband are expecting their first child in March of 2025. Great reaction ! I have been to many of their shows , it's incredible ! If you want to hear exactly how insane Melody's vocals are check out Not Afraid extended version it's insane . They also have a good collection of cover songs that are fantastic ! When they were younger their dad was involved in the songwriting . As they have gotten older they took over . Sam has written several , But Melody is now the main songwriter with input from everyone.
If you get into Liliacs covers, their live cover of Master of Puppets featuring Aiden Fisher is epic. You would never know by watching, but this was performed as an encore after a 90 minute set.
Their early work Melody played bass and Ethan the current bassist was on rhythm guitar. A good cover to show their talent then was an Iron Maiden's The Trooper cover. It has a bit of surprise in it.
I know your a "live" guy, but LILIAC'S covers are always iconic. Well rehearsed music and Melody's unforgettable vocal performances update and improve the cover. You will understand on any you choose, but I want to see your reaction to "Heaven and Hell". Hello my new young friend. Real nice reaction. They always give each other credit for the writing. I suspect that Sam and MeloDia has a lot to do with it. MeloDia was the original bass player earlier on. That's when I first heard them on the World's Best show playing Rainbow in the Dark live. They are US Born of Romanian born parents that emigrated to the States, met in High school, married, and gave birth to a Vamp Metal Band. You are looking at a 17 yr old MeloDia, 11 yr old Justin(keys) 13 yr old Ethan (bass) 19 yr old Abigail, and 20 yr old Samuel. Abigail got married and now is expecting a baby girl. Lives in Minnesota. You'll see Paul, they found him at the School of Rock in Atlanta. He's young, 17. I was so happy that I met and saw Abigail at the Spokane show last August. I really love their originals, have them all on different platforms. I love vinyl which I waited to get them to sign the most recent Maddness Album as my treat live at the concert. They are all generous with their time. They do a few Fang Favorite covers at the show, I prefer the originals, I have to admit, when I heard the start to "Heaven and Hell " it stirred something primal in me. No, not a heart attack. Lol Love that DIO Sabbath song. MeloDia did sing it with Batio-Appice-Sarzo-Cristea on GoDpsLive app. They did release on their channel a few of the studio lives. My favorite is Call to Arms. Or a live with Vinny Appice at his Sabbath Knights show with MeloDia singing Country Girl. No one pays homage to DIO quite like her and Liliac. Just to answer your question of past family bands. In the 60s there was the Cowsills with hits like Flower Girl, Indian Lake, and Hair. They embraced Bubble Gum rock. Partridge family was made up like the Monkeys. Lol Sorry Oldman rant. Peace.
