Nothing beats the setup of having this Magic Trackpad and a mouse plugged in. So useful for video editing, Logic Pro, basically everything! I see some left handed people keep a mouse on the left, and trackpad on the right of their keyboard and I’m like 🤯
I do it with trackball (better than shitty mouse) on right and trackpad on left. I'm left handed.

I couldn't get on with the magic mouse. I really liked that you could scroll in 4 directions on it, but I felt like the mouse I had was too sticky so my fingers didn't glide over it. As a die hard windows fan though, I have to say while I DO prefer windows overall, I find that macs have lots of lovely little quality of life features that make things nice to use.
I am very tempted to buy a trackpad for work.
Hi David , I’m not normally a fan of trackpads on laptops and ALWAYS use a wireless mouse. I put this down to the location of the pad. I ordered a MX3 mouse but I’m left handed.
Thinking of getting a Magic Trackpad as the sole input device with keyboard for a new Mac mini - any thoughts ? I have never used one.

Once you master all the gestures and use it for months is the best. Going back to a regular mouse is like old technology.
you have a silver imac, silver keyboard, and silver mouse. why didn’t you get the silver trackpad to match?
I have just picked up the model 3, sadly no USB C. But it does come with a nice braided USB C to lightning cable which is appreciated. Good product, your video helped me pull the trigger :)

Great video! I use a Magic Mouse for most tasks but my Magic Trackpad sits next to my magic keyboard for the gestures I'm used to on my MacBook such as suggestions and for my work within the Adobe suite. Scaling, moving around, and rotating are just top notch on the trackpad compared to the mouse. Keep up the great work!

I just bought two magic trackpad 2's and two magic keyboards. I love the force click feature. I have the new M1 Air and then I am getting the mac mini m1 in about a month. So weird how I went full apple out of the blue!
How are you using the m1 MacBook Air and the Mac mini with you setup together?
I have the silver version. The only thing I don't like is the comfort trying to scroll. To me it makes my fingers feel like it's not smooth and the touchpad is dirty.

You're spot on with the Magic Mouse. Unless you use a Mac it's hard to quite understand how nice it actually is to use. Scrolling in Windows is still horrific compared to on the Mac. It's SO much more precise in MacOS regardless of the mouse or trackpad being used.

I switched to the Trackpad 2 in fall last year and I have never looked back. I hate using anything else now.

David the Part of the Magic Trackpad 2 you missed if you Plug in The Trackpad lighting cable into the trackpad and USB on Computer it auto Setups the trackpad without going into System Prefernces like if you have no user account setup on the computer you forgot to put that in your video same with a Magic keyboard 2 try it if u unpair the trackpad try it they need to be on
I didn’t forget to put that in my video. This video isn’t a detailed walkthrough of the trackpad and all its features.
Also, it’s common knowledge that plugging in anything via USB is guaranteed to work.

byrd203 reading the little quick start guide is a magical thing. No need for a video on how to connect a mouse to a computer.
$129 to be able to force touch. What does force touch do other than definitions? I got it thinking it would have a lot more functionality than the first gen. I don't use a mouse. I just use the magic track pad, but I was hoping there was something to make it worth its pricetag. So far... not seeing it. If someone knows something, please let me know. I use adobe products. Any pluses there?

Great overview of Magic Trackpad, but it comes from someone who never used shortcuts for mouse wheel? In most macOS software "cmd + scroll" gives you zoom in/zoom out, and "shift + scroll" gives you horizontal scroll. So you actually don't have to do all the unnecessary things you mentioned around 9:50 (like grabbing scroll bar).
Also, with the Magic Trackpad, it's usually worse for ergonomics and your hands in the long term.

seeing that the drivers for windows suck so bad , id rather eat a mouse than paw the glass . ugly ugly esp if the third party driver is a subscription you need to pay yearly and that also sucked like try the demo . katintosh thinkpad ftw

Insanely expensive and identical to the white one thats 50 cheaper. “Trailer trash version” Black looks cooler so more pimped, along with my Gold drum and bass Title medals and platinum food bowl, it look great and I gets goat over the fact you cant justify the extra cost to have it in black, like a boss like me. rarhhh.

It is statistically proven that most Apple users are wrapped up in nostalgia by Apple's psychologic marketing strategy and they are in for the looks and thrill of it, rather than by the need and uses of their intended design. With all that said, Logitech MX Master 2 is the best mouse, so far, people can use for less long term physiological impact such as a carpal tunnel syndrome. So if you consider a Trackpad, make sure you switch back and forth.
