That's awesome stuff brother. Do you know if that's a hydraulic or flat tappet or even a serious mod is a roller cam in your Kohler there? I know they came factory with a chevy style hydraulic lifter, which like a Chevy is easily replaced with either a solid lift or even a roller tipped tappet these days. I'm just really curious about these dumb things? Lol! I started in small engine shops, and progressed to race engines for cars in machine shops, now an engineer and building my own small race engine now that hard parts are available for purchase. There were certain things I liked about the Kohler engines and others I didn't, and ended up settling on a Briggs Vanguard for their simplicity and relatively easy access to spare parts where I'm at. I'm running everything I can find in Billet or forged aluminum rods, pistons, flywheel, rockers ect...and whatever else I custom build or machine from steel or chrome moly alloy. The cam is a 356 billet steel Dyno-Cams. With the Briggs Vanguard there's no options but running a mechanical flat tappet stock style lifter profile, nor do they have any material to modify the blocks to adapt another form of lifter. Just curious about these Kohler engines and what you personally think of them? I see companies like Midwest Cub who makes some sickly insane Kohler engines which look to be almost all completely custom engines and heavily modified blocks all welded up. Nice to see your running the factory or just a shroud in general, see so many people out there who leave the shrouds off their cylinders which is so stupid. They think it looks cooler? When all their doing is overheating their engines by doing so. Unless they're only running a very short period on methanol or ethanol, these folks are doing damage to their expensive @ss engines by running them on race gas with no air ducting around the jugs and especially the heads! 😊❤ Sweet machine you have there and thanks for the reply on the gorgeous paint! 😉👍

You gotta talk to me about this engine build. I have 3 Kohler commands one running, the other 2 were blown and can be rebored. Mwsc says that their parts aren’t meant for racing, or vertical engine builds only tractor pulling. Please respond to this comment so I can ask you more about how this performed.

hey so the pistons and rods they sell are good for racing. camshaft is a different thing tho. youll need a racing camshaft, due to the fact for pulling they use a bit different platform of camshaft. go to arc racing and get the billet flywheel there its what i run and it works well. then im running the billet rods and pistons from MWSC.
i run a stock crank and if you want to get fancy like i did, have the crank balanced with the rods and pistons.
i still have a camshaft and a set of well flowed oringed heads for sale im willing to sell. i have some other stuff to. my name on facebook is jasper jansen in canada if you want to private message me.

with this mower i used an electric fuel pump, and used a noram star centrifugal clutch. i have a new machine i run now it has a kohler on alcohol also but running just vacuum fuel pump.
