    Oh no! Five days after we posted this video the lodge burned down! They are temporarily closed but plan to open again! bit.ly/CGLifestyle

      Oh my gosh, being from Southern Calif. I know about fires and the destruction. I hope the the lodge is open and operational again by now.

      @@selectshelley It looks like it will be quite some time before there is a new lodge. The fire wasn't a forest fire, it was a fire that broke out in materials stored under a porch. So far, all they have done is to raze the old place. All that's there now is a vacant lot. They wasted this entire season, and now they'll have to wait until next spring to get anything done. There won't be enough time to rebuild now before the winter weather arrives.

    3:25 That's the Deer Creek Picnic Area. If you go on a non-holiday weekday, you'll probably get a table. It's a beautiful spot. Go on a weekend, and just assume you'll be having your picnic next to your car in the parking lot. There will literally be 10 times as many people as picnic tables. For most of the official picnic areas along Kyle Canyon Road or Lee Canyon Road, there will be a day use fee. One of the picnic areas along Kyle Canyon Road generally gets turned into a campground when the nearby Fletcher Canyon campground fills up. Which it always does during summer. The place can be an absolute zoo on any holiday weekend. People adjust, and any spot anywhere along the road where you can park with all four wheels outside the white line, will become an impromptu picnic spot. On July 4 or Labor Day, Mount Charleston is more like the Mall of America than a peaceful retreat.

      Yeah, it's a pretty popular spot. You just have to plan accordingly to see it! Thank you for your additional insight.

      Most of Nevada is mostly beautiful....everywhere except the las vegas strip and about a 5mile radius around it.

    Boats tow and launch themselves too? "Big as as a we can." he lols.

    Is the elevation bad for dogs?

    • @CerroneGroupRealEstate
      @CerroneGroupRealEstate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apparently it depends. You'll have to do some research. Here's an article I found on how altitude affects dogs: bit.ly/3poEwzP

    • @ednafronkelbarger8601
      @ednafronkelbarger8601 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It all depends on their human. Dogs appear to be perfectly fine romping around being dogs. But too many people insist on forcing their dogs to go all the way up long and difficult trails, with serious elevation gains of 600 - 800 feet. Sadly, I personally have seen two dogs die on trails during the 15 years I have been a regular hiker up there. I have seen a dog collapse on the trail, unable to go any farther, and the owner yelling at it to get up and get going. (On that occasion, I picked the dog up myself, and told the owner "It's a long way down, so I'll help you carry the poor thing back. I'll take the first leg". After that, if he wanted to stop me he was going to have to fight a feisty 75 year old woman.)
