Matchbox restoration Lincoln Continental No 31. Diecast car. Making trunk

To get subtitles click C. The Lincoln Continental was a model produced by Lesney in the years 1964-1971. My copy was from 1967. I can conclude it from the color of the body, which was visible from the inside. There was no trunk in the car, which I made from the beginning to the end of sheet metal, creating hinges so that it could open. I could make it out of resin, but decided against it because its shapes were quite simple. In the video, I also showed three types of painting used by the factor. Thank you for watching. Great job! The blue Continental sports wheels that were called "transitional", where Lesney started converting castings to accommodate the new upcoming Superfast wheels. But before the conversion was completed, Lesney made Superfast-type wheels but only half as wide because changing the castings was a long process.

Great resto again paul the lincoln continental came out in the blue and the lime green in reguler wheels when it was changed to superfast it was a light metalic green there are 2 very rare versions of this model metalic green regular wheels and lime green superfast wheels the last variation of this model had wide superfast wheels with round arches and was light metalic green the metalic blue version youve done looks realy unique with superfast wheels because that variation was never made look forward to seeing more of your excellent work

Very very cool video I have that blue one in sad shape and with out that cool boxes you make I've seen this and that red beetle with the yellow jet engines on it I had that when I was a kid it came from my grandparents in Wales. Long long gone now great memories so cool to see what that bug looks like mint in the box keep up the amazing work and videos

Fabricating the trunk lid was impressive. If I may suggest: I noticed the metal you used was painted. It looked like a piece from a sample finish collection. That's all fine but no matter how well you glue it or how strong the glue is , it will never hold any better than the paint beneath it. Sanding off all the paint and scuffing the surface first will help ensure your fine effort does not come off down the road. (pun intended)

I had a pre-Superfast one as a kid; the trunk hinges must've been weak because I don't remember mine ever having a trunk lid. My Aunt Jeanne probably gave it to me, she was always handing out her garage-sale finds to people.

Would you try the Limeaway and water method for the tarnished bases?50/50 mixture for approximately 4 to 5 minutes with the addition of a brass brush. For being an acid,you need gloves and safety goggles.

In some companies it shows. Not here. I do it in such a way that I screw this screw into sheets of different thickness depending on how much I want to cut and then cut the excess with a grinder. I unscrew it back, so I do not damage the thread and I am sure that the screw will screw in. Best wishes
