The developers reason or excuse for first person was to "immerse" you into the game. But Indy IS the film and should be the game. The way he looks is part of the appeal, which is why Star Wars games are 3rd person and for example Tomb Raider games are. First person is a cop out by the developers.
I also thought first person was an odd choice for the game, however I could be ok with it as long as the animations and cut scenes are excellent. But based on the reveal I fear they may be slightly subpar. I'm still gonna give the game a shot, but it does worry me a little
