The McDermott Defy 2 shaft also has the metal ballast inside. I accidentally found out when I dropped my magnetic chalk holder onto the middle of the shaft.
In my country Indonesia, Billiard is very popular but unfortunately no one sells this LUNA NERA shaft, I hope you should see the Indonesian billiard market which is very popular, by the way, Indonesian society is around 280 million people, a very large market. Thank you
Very informative! I’ll use a magnet to see if my carbon fiber shafts from Predator and Jacoby have ballasts in them! I became a fan of Langoni because of your videos!
Quality carbon fiber shafts bring stronger stiffer & lighter than graphite create less deflection & are far superior than any shaft anyone can make using graphite.
@ Thanks for the comment. I thought the terms of cf and graphite were interchangeable depending on which continent it is used, but now I know they are different!
I would like to try the shaft out for feel and balance but I don't know any dealers in the Portland, Oregon area that I could that. Also I really enjoy your videos and at 70 I am still learning something!
I'm still playing with my Gen1 314 shaft (on a Longoni Dedalo) and I tried the Luna Nera from a guy at a tournament, but I couldn't get used to it... where I usually have to use a lot of front hand english on slower shots from closeby, all of a sudden I had to use full back hand english... didn't play with it too long, but maybe on harder longer distance shots the deflection is similar, so more consistent over a wider range? The 'hit' felt good though... not a pingy sound.
They are the same, graphite is a form of carbon. It is more accurate if you said graphite IMO. There is a lot of form of carbon scientifically speaking, there is diamond etc.
All I know is when breaking with your cue LONGONI STECCA NIELS FEIJEN TB-22 BREAK CUE WITH LUNA NERA CARBON BREAK SHAFT the balls just magically go into the pockets. On average about one or two are made. What is the difference between the break and playing shafr
I owned different top name brand “carbon fiber shafts”(had some of these even fail and were covered in warranty) Always used same break tips and same playing tips. Let me tell you that there is definitely a difference with the Longoni Luna Nera shafts. In the playing and breaking shafts hits are so much more consistent. Even the English is always on. No shine or awkward sounds like other shafts. Hands down Luna Nera shafts made me enjoy playing pool more.
I'd like to know if there are options. I always read details and every CF/Graphite shafts are available only at set specs and wonder why? I'm not saying Longoni is holding info from us at all. I've noticed when I saw Predator debut theirs. They were not the first to use CF/Graphite yet it was one size for all. They were not the first to make laminated shafts. Longoni has been doing that decades before Predator. Maybe the first to test shafts for deflection. While proving theirs they disproved like what twelve other shafts? That's all it was. They never tested more than one shaft from each cue maker. I buy shaft blanks and finish them out. Someday I hope we can get shafts made to our own desire without paying almost $1k a piece. It's a funny business and being in the top spot doesn't mean you're a saint. To be there you have to chose the right truths and have the right questions to bring you in.

A lot more complicated than I thought. Very interesting.
Love it!
Fantastic!
The McDermott Defy 2 shaft also has the metal ballast inside. I accidentally found out when I dropped my magnetic chalk holder onto the middle of the shaft.
Very informative! I thought it was just going to be a factory tour.
When we will have The Terminator Shaft?
I'd buy a Terminator shaft.
Thanks for playing 9 ball with me in St Augustine!

Whats the diference between carbón fiber and graphite?. Are the same material?
Love my Longoni's 🟩⬜🟥🎱 Curly 🔥🔥and I also have the Hurricane that I use with the LUNA NERA and it plays amazing as well.
Hey Niels, Happy New Year! Dumb question: Is there a difference between graphite and carbon shafts? Greetz from Germany Thomas
cf and graphite shafts are the same thing. just different terminology.
