Question for a snooker expert: At 13:17 when Holt had the free ball, could he have nominated the black as his free-ball red, and played another red, planting it onto the black to pot it for 1 point.
This is from the WPBSA rulebook: "It is a foul if the cue-ball should: (i) fail to hit the nominated free ball first unless it was hit simultaneously with a ball on" So yes, this would have been a foul. 🙂

No need for re rack when there is at least 1 potable red below the pink. However...judging by these 2 players potting ability I wouldn't even say they were even professional.
This is snooker. Billiards looks similar but totally different game from separate origin and table size and rules. The balls are also different, billiards or pool ball have numbers and totally different rules.
Kyren Wilson is a snooker world champion with 8 ranking titles to his name. He also has 5 maximum breaks and 486 century breaks. Wouldn't exactly call someone like him a rookie.

I'm no expert so take it with a grain of salt but I'm pretty sure even on a free ball you have to hit your nominated free ball first.
