I met a old lady four years back in Canada who is from Karnataka. She said she is originally from a place where currently in Pakistan and she was 7 at the time of partition. She added, it’s still in her mind how they trashed her family and thrown them out of their town following all Hindus in the area yelling shouting and throwing things at them saying “leave from here other wise we will kill you”. She said they somehow managed to come to india by leaving everything behind and got to approach to her aunt(father’s sister) who was in Karnataka and the life went on from there.
We never knew anything as a child until we grow up about all such worse things happened in the name of British rule and partition. Never discussed or never in public notice about these things. even though if we come to know through media like this and rarely encounter such people with their stories like me, we still don’t feel the reality of it. Such a pity.

As a Hindu I can only blame Hindus for all their suffering. They didn't learned a thing from Kurukshetra. When Arjuna hesitated to fight, Krishna motivated him to act his responsibilities. Hindus are again doing the same mistake. Instead of fighting they want peace. Did they ever had peace by not fighting? Never. Only those who faught the evil, made a nation of peace for its people.

Radcliffe may have been bumbling at times, but was like a man given the job of carrying out an execution he never personally desired. The British may have created a set of circumstances making partition more likely, but they weren't the ones demanding it. People, both western and Indian, tend to go well out of their ways to avoid admitting that partition happened because one community of Indians insisted upon it.

My understanding, from what I've read, is that Jinnah and the Muslim League were primarily responsible.
"From the early years of the 20th century onward, a deep divide developed between Hindus and Muslims. This was not the least caused by a marginalisation of the latter in public life. Hindus held most of the jobs in the lower branches of civil administration and in education, they were, comparatively, streets ahead.
Part of the responsibility for this lay with the Muslims themselves for their leadership, lost in nostalgia, failed to modernise."

One thing that stood out to me however was that everyone may have gotten along if it wasn't for one religion always insisting everything be THEIR WAY!

It's abrahamic religions such as Christianity and Islam which are fascist by nature because they believe only their God is the only God, which has caused so much bloodshed and chaos in Bharat and split it into two, because they refused to live as one nation with the hindus because they see them as kaffirs.

They didn't demand partition, nor did they riot for it. They never cast a single vote for the AIML. Partition happened because one community of Indians insist it happen. To place all the blame on the British is to deny the agency of those who betrayed India during its most pressing hour.

However, if we really want to know the real pain, ask any elderly person who migrated from the province of (undivided) Punjab which was sliced in half & witnessed the bloodiest massacres of Hindus & Sikhs: much worse than Nazi camps.
Every migrated Hindu/Punjabi & Sikh family who were uprooted overnight had much to loose physically, mentally & financially and the aftermath (emotionally) is much worse.
WION should do more such interviews & capture eyewitness accounts before we loose all our elderly people & no one is left to share their stories.
